I have had a WN3000RP range extender for about 3 years now and never downloaded any firmware changes. When I look up the downloads I fiond there are 5 available. Do I need to download and apply each in turn or will the latest one - 1.0.2.64 have all the updates from previous downloads?3.2KViews0likes2CommentsNighthawk AX4 AX3000 Firmware upgrade failed
Hi, Over the weekend the automatic firmware upgrade for my AX3000 failed for some reason, now the router will not respond with just a flashing red led. I have followed the KB - https://kb.netgear.com/000064624/How-do-I-upload-firmware-to-my-NETGEAR-router-using-TFTP-on-Apple-macOS it looks like the firmware has been transferred to the router but does not seem to 'activate' into flash memory and after a reboot the router is back to a flashing red led. Any ideas? JohnR7000 Unable to save to USB after updating to ver. 1.0.12.216
After updating to version 1.0.12.216 I am unable to save to the \\readyshare USB. I can read from it, but I cannot save to it. Previously when I would have problems with just generally accessing the USB, a reboot would take care of the problem. But now restarting or rebooting does not fix this. I'm sure I could take out the USB stick, connect it to my computer, write to it, and replug it into R7000, but that is bypassing part of the usefulness of \\readyshare. Any suggestions on what else I can try to get saving to USB to work again? Any others having this problem with this version? Hi, I have an issue with my NETGEAR R8000 AC3200 Nighthawk X6 router. I was working fine with default firmware V1.0.3.4_1.1.2. Couple of months ago I installed the latest firmware V1.0.4.88_10.1.88_hotfix. It was working fine until yesterday. Now I have following issues. Router stays on (All lights are on as normal but not blinking) but can't connect from any wired or wireless device. Simply wired PC to router also shows no network. Router randomly restarts every few seconds or hours. I keep the router in an open area. So it has good ventilation. I feel the issue arise when router is in load like downloading a large files over the internet. Please help me to fix the issue. Thank you.Solved1.8KViews0likes10CommentsR8000 V1.0.5.88 released?
I have been having connectivity issues with my R8000 as of late (~2 weeks) and finally came looking today for solutions. To my great surprise (and skepticism) there is a new V1.0.5.88 firmware available as of today?!? My incredulity stems partly from the large version bump (1.0.4.88->1.0.5.88) when the release notes state that the release only "addresses security vulnerabilities". I can find no mention of which security vulnerabilities this addresses on the advisory page . Additionally, aren't security patches typically relegated to W in the X.Y.Z.W version ID? All this compounds when considering this device is EOL for some time now... At any rate, curious to hear any more about this mysterious release and to hear if anyone else has tried it out. Best, SR8000P - most stable firmware?
Hi all... I've had this router since 2018 so it could be age causing this but recently the router seems to be locking up. Problem is, I did a firmware upgrade recently and didn't write down what the old version which was working great. I just figured I'd upgrade because of "security fixes". So the quesation is, what is the most stable version of the firmware for this model? Thanks.Solved2.1KViews0likes4CommentsR6400v2 OpenVPN latest client versions not supported
I needed to reinstall my OpenVPN client (after BitDefender's VPN, which I don't use, updated and nuked my OpenVPN client presumably due to shared dependencies), and it took me a while to figure out that the latest versions linked on on the https://openvpn.net/community-downloads/ linked to in the router advanced settings GUI are no longer compatible with the R6400v2 AC1750 router. Something about TLS levels? I'm wondering if Netgear is going to send out a firmware update to restore compatibility to the most recent version of OpenVPN client (2.6.11)? Or at the very least the R6400v2 firmware should be changed to indicate in the VPN instruction not to use the most recent version. It concerns me that the VPN is not at the most recent level--I hope this is not a security issue...
