Hi, all, I managed to get my iPhone (6S, iOS 10.3.2) connected to my home VPN on my Nighthawk X6 R8000 using the stock firmware version 1.0.3.46_1.1.32, and I am able to connect to the router setup page at http://192.168.1.1, but I cannot access any of the web servers that I have running on the same subnet (192.168.1.x). I've tried both web browser and SSH (and ping requests come back timed out). The iPhone was provisioned an IP in the 192.168.254.x subnet...not sure if this is causing the problems. The phone is connecting via LTE, not another WiFi network to avoid router clashes. I have made sure that the VPN advanced config has client access set for "all sites on the internet and home network," and I tried changing the LAN subnet mask to 255.255.0.0, but to no effect so I subsequently changed it back to 255.255.255.0 as per the default). Does anyone have any ideas why I can't get a route to any other systems on the network? Thanks in advance. DavidSolved5.2KViews0likes3CommentsSetting up a new home network that includes a smart TV
I am setting up a new home network that will include my home office, my husbands music work and our smart TV (after 40 years of fighting Big Cable we have cut the cable). I have some tech savvy but the cable modem and smart TV together are pushing me out of my comfort zone. Any words of wisdom? Thank you.1.9KViews0likes1CommentNighthawk C7000-100NAS AC1900 Modem Router Proper Optimization
Does anyone have any optimization suggestions for setting up the router? I'm with Time Warner and because of the many devices we have connected in our home, we're getting low speeds even though we have 200mbps. I know we won't get close to this with wi-fi, but we can't watch tv without seeing the rebuffering circle every few minutes. Called Netgear and they want to charge a service fee for supporting their own equipment. Um, no...so, I'm reaching out to the community. Also, have a question about why my single network shows up as 5 when we look to change the internet channel because of interference. There could be no other network on a channel I switch to, then, poof! There's 5 all of a sudden. Why? Thanks!.4KViews0likes1Comment
