Every few hours, for no apparent reason, my Orbi satelite gets the magenta LED, i lose connection for a few mins and then it reconnects as if nothing happened. I live in a relatively small 74 sqm appartment and the satelite is less than 5m away from the main Orbi router with only one wall in between them. I've tried everything, including factory resetting both the main router and the satelite. Both are running the latest firmware. I'm really hoping there is something i missed because i ordered my Orbi when i was in Switzerland a few months ago, and now i've had to move to Serbia for work for a year, so returning it (unless i can get it fixed with a local distributor) would probably cost more than buying a new satelite.Wired backhaul on 2.1.2.18 magenta LED but correct device assignments
Up to now, I always used the ethernet wired backhaul with the router port on my router, which runs in AP mode. This worked very well, but hat the issue, that wireless devices on the satellite were shown as connected wired to the router. Yesterday, I took a look at the wired backhaul KB article and remembered, that when I had connected the router via the first "LAN" port to my network, the LED would stay a solid magenta, which was what make me switch the ports on my router in the first place, since the LED went out and everything else worked as well. However, since then, the assignment of wireless devices, that are connected to the satellite, have always been shown as being connected wired to the router, instead of wirelessly to the satellite. After reading the KB article about how to wired the router correctly, I can state that now the satellite's wireless clients are noted correctly as being wirelessly connected to the satellite, but… …now the LED of the router as turned a solid magenta again for 10 hrs straight.CM700 - Network Activity LED
I just installed Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 Smart Router. (BTW...performance increase? WOW!) Prior to this installation, Network Activity LED was showing normal, green, flickering according to network activity, on my CM700-100NAS modem [just installed last week]. After router install, Network Activity LED now showing amber, flickering according to network activity. All other LEDs showing steady green before AND after router install. Not having any problems (of which I am aware, anyway), but wanted to make sure this is not indicating a problem. There was a troubleshooting chart included with the modem documentation, indicating meaning of the various colors on the different LEDs...but, I seem to have misplaced it.Solved3.3KViews0likes5CommentsCG3100D LED Ethernet light is BLUE
Hi, I am experiencing very poor wifi, with drop outs from devices, and one or two devices simply not connecting any more. Nothing appears to have changed in our usage patterns... I looked at the modem, and the only thing I can see is that the ethernet LED at port #1 is a solid blue, whilst every other connection is green. I switched the blue cable from port #1 to port #3, and that lit up as blue as well. I've searched the manuals on line, and there is a scary lack of 'blue light' info. Can anyone please tell me what this blue means, and if it is the reason for all the drop outs..? Oh, yes, and in a perfect world, how I might fix it, please...4.4KViews0likes1CommentWNCE2001: Trouble when I unplug the power adapter: the LAN led is off
Hi, I have a WNCE2001 (Universal WiFi Internet Adapter); every time that I remove/unplug the power adapter, this unit is no longer able to provide the ethernet connection: i mean that the LAN led will remain OFF (is not green), and any computer will claims about the fact that no ethernet connection is available. To see the LAN led green/on I have to plug/unplug the ethernet cable various times, and is not always enough: I also have to plug and to unplug the power adapter various times, and the same behaviour also occurs if I feed the unit using the usb cable (so is not a trouble caused by a defective power adapter). After various attempts (sometimes it needs few minutes, sometimes it needs also an half hour), I can see the LAN led ON/green. This is not due my computer: this trouble also occurs with any other device provided with an ethernet port. If I leave the WNCE2001 always plugged to the power unit I don't see the described issue; however after about one hour, the WNCE2001 become very very hot/warm. I had to put the WNCE2001 upon a big heatsink; in this way it remains almost little bit warm. The WNCE2001 is provided with the last available firmware 1.0.0.26 "Unfortunately" this device is no longer provided with the warranty. However I have to mention the fact that I have some electronic skills: I was thinking that I could attempt to open the unit by removing the screws and maybe looking the inner status, eg by removing the dust using an air compressor. However this unit, to me, seems clean/OK. Some suggestions /hints? Kind regards.4.2KViews0likes4CommentsLan connection LEDs, device names, and LAN connection numbers
Hi there Just bought my R8000. I have wired my iMac, Apple TV, NAS, and Pioneer receiver. 2 issues: 1.Some of the LAN port LEDs are red. 2. Apple TV is definitely plugged into LAN port 3, but in the Attached Devices page, it shows as port 2. 3. there are 2 items in the Attached Devices list that do display a name. Can I name them for convenience sake? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! JohnSolved3.3KViews0likes2Comments
