Every few hours, for no apparent reason, my Orbi satelite gets the magenta LED, i lose connection for a few mins and then it reconnects as if nothing happened. I live in a relatively small 74 sqm appartment and the satelite is less than 5m away from the main Orbi router with only one wall in between them. I've tried everything, including factory resetting both the main router and the satelite. Both are running the latest firmware. I'm really hoping there is something i missed because i ordered my Orbi when i was in Switzerland a few months ago, and now i've had to move to Serbia for work for a year, so returning it (unless i can get it fixed with a local distributor) would probably cost more than buying a new satelite.Wired backhaul on 2.1.2.18 magenta LED but correct device assignments
Up to now, I always used the ethernet wired backhaul with the router port on my router, which runs in AP mode. This worked very well, but hat the issue, that wireless devices on the satellite were shown as connected wired to the router. Yesterday, I took a look at the wired backhaul KB article and remembered, that when I had connected the router via the first "LAN" port to my network, the LED would stay a solid magenta, which was what make me switch the ports on my router in the first place, since the LED went out and everything else worked as well. However, since then, the assignment of wireless devices, that are connected to the satellite, have always been shown as being connected wired to the router, instead of wirelessly to the satellite. After reading the KB article about how to wired the router correctly, I can state that now the satellite's wireless clients are noted correctly as being wirelessly connected to the satellite, but… …now the LED of the router as turned a solid magenta again for 10 hrs straight.RN316 touch pad lights itself after opening and closing the door
Hi, If I open the door (the one with the touch pad on it) to the left most (at maximum angel), and then close it, the touch pad gets lit by itself. If I open the door at a smaller angel and close it, the touch pad does not get lit. If I open the door to the left most, but close it extremely gently (at an extremely extremely slow speed), the door does not get lit either. Is this a normal behavior? Is it designed to be lit when closing the door? Thanks.Solved917Views0likes3CommentsReadyNAS 316 touchpad freezing
I bought an RN31600 last year, and was randomly having a similar issue as the one described in this thread after using it for about half a month. The touchpad sometimes freezes and won't go off after powering up, an additional reboot makes it back to normal. It was using FW6.8.0 at first, and the issue was getting more frequently after using it for about a month. I did search for fixes but didn't help so I backed up all data to external HDDs and reset it to factory default, and then restored the data back. After that it worked fine for about another month and started happening one or two times a week again. Upgrading the firmware to any later version didn't solve the problem at all. I didn't use a UPS at first. Three months ago I bought a UPS and connected it with the NAS, and then installed an app called LogAnalyzer, but LogAnalyzer caused the SMB service failed to start and I had to backup all of my data to external HDDs again and reset it to factory default again and restore the data back again and re-create the shares again. And then I found it happened to not have the the touch pad issue anymore for three months, yeah, until today. It's weird, I guess maybe the UPS helped reducing the issue's hapening rate, or maybe it's just a coincidence. I have looked for threads like this in this community and it looks like it's been a very long time since customers started reporting this issue, but it didn't seem to be fixed at all. I don't want to return the device for RMA because I've already suffered two times backing up all of the data to an external disk and then reset factory default and retore it back again. It takes a lot of hours and need huge work to re-create the shares, so I'm not going to do it again. I'm just wondering if it's possible for Netgear to solve the issue in a future firmware? Is there a real fix for it on their schedule to solve it without returning the device? Because I remember when I searched for the fix last year, some said they still have the issue after RMA for multiple times, RMA doesn't look like solves the issue. If this problem is not possible to be fixed, I'll consider buying another NAS from other brands to replace this one. I'm tired of being anxiously seeing the issue when it auto powers on at 10:00 PM each day. If anyone has a good idea to help resolving the issue without wiping the data, please share. I just installed Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 Smart Router. (BTW...performance increase? WOW!) Prior to this installation, Network Activity LED was showing normal, green, flickering according to network activity, on my CM700-100NAS modem [just installed last week]. After router install, Network Activity LED now showing amber, flickering according to network activity. All other LEDs showing steady green before AND after router install. Not having any problems (of which I am aware, anyway), but wanted to make sure this is not indicating a problem. There was a troubleshooting chart included with the modem documentation, indicating meaning of the various colors on the different LEDs...but, I seem to have misplaced it.Solved3.3KViews0likes5CommentsCG3100D LED Ethernet light is BLUE
Hi, I am experiencing very poor wifi, with drop outs from devices, and one or two devices simply not connecting any more. Nothing appears to have changed in our usage patterns... I looked at the modem, and the only thing I can see is that the ethernet LED at port #1 is a solid blue, whilst every other connection is green. I switched the blue cable from port #1 to port #3, and that lit up as blue as well. I've searched the manuals on line, and there is a scary lack of 'blue light' info. Can anyone please tell me what this blue means, and if it is the reason for all the drop outs..? Oh, yes, and in a perfect world, how I might fix it, please...4.4KViews0likes1CommentWNCE2001: Trouble when I unplug the power adapter: the LAN led is off
Hi, I have a WNCE2001 (Universal WiFi Internet Adapter); every time that I remove/unplug the power adapter, this unit is no longer able to provide the ethernet connection: i mean that the LAN led will remain OFF (is not green), and any computer will claims about the fact that no ethernet connection is available. To see the LAN led green/on I have to plug/unplug the ethernet cable various times, and is not always enough: I also have to plug and to unplug the power adapter various times, and the same behaviour also occurs if I feed the unit using the usb cable (so is not a trouble caused by a defective power adapter). After various attempts (sometimes it needs few minutes, sometimes it needs also an half hour), I can see the LAN led ON/green. This is not due my computer: this trouble also occurs with any other device provided with an ethernet port. If I leave the WNCE2001 always plugged to the power unit I don't see the described issue; however after about one hour, the WNCE2001 become very very hot/warm. I had to put the WNCE2001 upon a big heatsink; in this way it remains almost little bit warm. The WNCE2001 is provided with the last available firmware 1.0.0.26 "Unfortunately" this device is no longer provided with the warranty. However I have to mention the fact that I have some electronic skills: I was thinking that I could attempt to open the unit by removing the screws and maybe looking the inner status, eg by removing the dust using an air compressor. However this unit, to me, seems clean/OK. Some suggestions /hints? Kind regards.4.2KViews0likes4CommentsGS108v4 ~ possible to turn off the LEDs?
Hello everyone! I just wanted to know, if it is possible to turn off the LEDs of the switch (GS108v4)? I'm planning to use the switch in my Home Cinema enviroment and it would be annoying to see the flashing lights of the switch during network usage such as Netflix. I've read about the ProSafe Plus Switch Utility but it would not support my model to gain access to some sort of configuration page. Any help on this one? Thanks, GSolved
