Hi. Can I configure my M4250-9G1F so that every port acts like a trunk? I have a M4250-26G4F-POE+ as my main switch and have a fiber connection to my M4250-9G1F. From there I would like to use 6 ports to connect 6 more M4250-9G1F in a star typology. All using dante and control. Is this possible? Hi I have a guest house and I've created a vlan for the guests there, using only port number 24. I'd like to limit the bandwidth from that port to 100 Mbps but get confused by instructions in the manual and in the web interface. At one place it says I should define the "Interface Shaping Rate" to a number between 16–16384 (manual) and at the other is says between 1-100 (the web interface). I'm doing something wrong. I need a switch where I can set limit rate or bandwidth by port. Here is the situation. My church streams and we currently have a 10Mbps down and 1.1Mbps up. If there is a few people are on the network (WiFi), then the sustained streaming rate is fine with no caching or drop outs but get 60-100 devices hanging off the wifi. If ever all will decide that now is a good time to download updates or something else, then the stream is shot to... I am thinking that if I can limit the rate through the ports I connect the WiFi devices to, this will limit how much of my "pipe" is used so I can keep the 1.1 Mbps upload untouched. Or if there is a way I can dedicate that much bandwidth always for upload only that would work to.No Internet After Connecting GS808E Switch to Router
I have spent too many hours resetting things to default, trying to reconfigure things, plugging and unplugging cables, etc. Whilst I have multiple devices in the house, all the PC's in the house are on Windows 10, not that it should matter. Here is my list of components in my home network: Modem: Netgear CM600 Cable Modem (service provided by Spectrum) Router: Asus RT-AC3200 Switch: Netgear GS808E (Nighthawk S8000) Brief history: PC connected directly to modem, works/have internet connection. Router connected to modem/PC connected to router, works both wired and wireless. Introduced the Nighthawk S8000 (or either of the other two switches I have at home), no internet anywhere. I assumed that adding a switch to the mix, to expand my network would be fairly easy/plug and play. A crappy TrendNET 5-port switch worked previously, when I had AT&T Uverse, and some ports worked on the crappy 8-port Monoprice switch that I had. Yes, modem is connected to WAN port on router. Yes, port 1 on router is connected to port 8 on switch. I have enabled jumbo frame on the router under "Switch Control" as well. I have tried rebooting and resetting things. Hi ! Bottom line, my Google WiFi access points are not able to properly see each other on the ethernet and Google suggests it may be my switch configuration's support for SPT... Network layout is rather simple home office setup. - I've got a cable modem. - Connected to my main Google Wifi unit (as per Google's requirements, I would have preferred to connect the cable modem directly to the switch) - Connected to a NETGEAR Click Switch (GSS108E) - On that switch, I have a couple of computers, 2 Tivo boxes, a printer, and 1 addtional wired google WiFi unit. - There are no VLANS. Just a flat /24 IP space as defaulted by Google (192.168.86.1 - .255) - The main Google WiFi unit is providing DHCP services to everything, and I can ping all connected devices and tracert with a single hop. Hi, Can someone please explain the step-by-step process on how to upgrade a ProSAFE GS752TP firmware? The current software version of my switch is running is 6.0.1.16 - I believe this is already the highest version. However, I'm doing this strictly for learning purposes. I've upgraded smaller "home office" switches by simply downloading the firmware and pushing it through a TFTP utility (or some switches have a built in utility) so I understand the concept of what I'm doing. I'm not having any luck using the TFTP utility, or the built in utility on my switch - which leads me to believe that I'm doing something wrong. So if someone could outline the process (with links, applications, etc...) that I'll need to perform the upgrade, I'd really appreciate it. I've looked up articles, read the manual, downloaded the how-to however I can't find simple step by step. The new GS308 switch will not give internet access and assigns a weird IP address. Is this for internet or just network PC? The purpose of the switch is to give more ports to connect more devices to the Internet right? I connected a new GS308 from working NETGEAR WiFi router to switch then the device to the switch and there is no internet. I cannot see the switch connected to the network and the switch gives out a weird IP address to the device. There are no labels on the ports of the switch so I guess I can use any port to connect to the switch (I tried the 1st port). Am I connecting it wrong? För närvarande har jag installerat två Netgear Managed switchar: M5300-52G3 och GSM7248V2. Jag kan inte se switch-diagrammet på sidan Device view. Det står "Du behöver Java plugin. Hämta det här" men "här" tar mig till Oracle Java-nedladdningar, och tar mig inte till den uppdatering jag behöver. Jag har installerat Java 8 uppdatering 65, men problemet kvarstår.
