N450
12 TopicsBRCM-LVG appearing since Gateway Updated to Netgear Genie
We have an N450 (on the side it also says CG300Dv2) Our gateway software must have auto updated to Netgear Genie. All the sudden we see BRCM-LVG appearin gin our network. In Netgear Genie ReadyShare it shows it as a possible USB device. Is that what it is? Should I disable it from Network Connection, HTTP and FTP? Thanks for some answers.Solved25KViews0likes2CommentsNot able to login to N450 router admin

We have used an access control list with no issues for about 2 years. This morning we started having connection issues and I had to reset the router. I put all the devices back in the Access Control Allow List but when I try to activate it I get this message, "Turn access control on with empty access list does not work with WPS. WPS will be inaccessible. Do you want to continue?" The list isn't empty. Anyone know wnat this means? Thanks.6.8KViews0likes6CommentsFactory Default Reset is MESSED UP on N450 CG3000Dv2
I was using my N450 with Time Warner, then switched so I decided to sell it. I tried resetting it to factory default, but when it finished, the result was a completely different SSID than the one printed on the side, and of course the pass key didn't work. The sticker on the side says the factory default ssid should be D3DA66, with password (key) 3HW143WE019AE (same as the serial #). But after repeated attempts at resetting it (including holding it down for 30 seconds with no power and then for 30 more seconds after plugging it in), it keeps going to ssid CG3000DV260. anyone... know why it's doing this? how to get it to return to the settings printed on the side? a default password key for ssid CG3000DV260, if one exists? i'd be happy with an answer to any of the questions above.5.5KViews0likes3CommentsLimited Wifi
All the sudden the the signal strength for wifi on all our PC laptops says "Limited" and is very slow or just times out. If you run troubleshooting sometimes it says something about DCHP or bad gateway. Tried restarting and resetting to factory defaults several times. Did something in the N450 just die? Is this unit toast? Ethernet still works, but only after you cut off wifi and run troubleshooting on that adapter. Thanks for any leads.5.4KViews0likes4Comments+++++++++++ NETGEAR N450 Disconnects Once every hour on the dot - DHCP ISSUES +++++++++++++
Model: NETGEAR N450 (CG3000Dv2) N450 WiFi Cable Modem Router Firmware: V3.01.06 OS: Windows 7 Enviroment: Single Modem, no router, direct wired connection My n450 was working fine for a couple months but this past week it started having problems. Once an hour, every hour, on the dot within a few seconds the N450 will disconnect for about 5 seconds then reconnect. I can precisely predict when it will disconnect before it disconnects and like clockwork the N450 will disconnect. I am not running this on a wireless connection, I have no cable splitters, no router, just a direct connection from the modem to the PC. I have checked the cables from my computer to the modem and the cable from the modem to the wall, and even the crawl space behind the wall leading to the outside cable box, all cables are in perfect condition. I did some research and people are claiming that the issue is a 1 DHCP hour lease and that sounds EXACTLY like the problem I am having. I searched the N450 N450 CG3000Dv2 User Manual and on page 69 the instructions for modifying the DHCP state: ------------------------------------- Reserve an IP Address for DHCP Use To reserve an IP address for DHCP use, enter the DHCP server reservation settings for the private LAN under DHCP Reservation Lease Info in the LAN IP screen. To reserve an IP address for DHCP: 1.Type http://192.168.0.1 in the address field of your web browser. A login screen displays. 2.Enter the modem router user name and password. The default user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and password are case-sensitive. The modem router main menu displays. 3.In the main menu, under Advanced, select LAN IP. The LAN IP screen displays. 4.In the DHCP Reservation Lease Info section, enter the MAC address of the computer for which you want to reserve an IP address. 5.Enter the permanent IP address for the computer. 6.Click the Add button ----------------------------------- But literally on the third step these instructions stop working. There is no LAN IP button or link anywhere in the Advanced options. There are many threads on this issue for this specific modem with people claiming they are constantly getting disconnected. A common remedy people have suggested is to perform a factory reset so I did just that, but that also did not fix my problem. Here is a collection of threads that people posted with similar issues that I am having to hopefully prove this is not an isolated incident. Getting disconnected like this is incredibly frustrating as a gamer. Many of the games I play are senstive to disconnects and punish the player. For grandma browsing facebook a 1 hour DHCP timer would never be noticed. For me it's incredibly painful because not only do I get interupted once an hour, I have to sit out for 20-30 minutes to wait for the DHCP timer to expire before getting commited in a ranked match. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Cable-Modems-Routers/N450-disconnects-every-hour/td-p/1025699 https://community.netgear.com/t5/Cable-Modems-Routers/N450-WiFi-keeps-disconnecting/td-p/978900 https://community.netgear.com/t5/General-WiFi-Routers/DHCP-Lease-Length/td-p/466827 https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/Why-is-there-no-DHCP-Lease-settings-on-a-200-top-tear-router/m-p/1118769#U1118769 Please do not suggest returning the product, it's just insulting because I spent like 100$ to fix my internet problems by purchasing the n450, returning the product would mean 1 week+ with no internet and another 100$+ for another modem. Again I want to repeat what is so frustrating about this issue is that this router was working fine for months, and only a few days ago does this DHCP issue manifest.5.3KViews0likes19CommentsN450 CG3000Dv2 WiFi slow down
I am looking to solve a slow down issue. I recently installed the router on my network and was able to attain download speeds in the 50 to 60 mbps range. After connecting my computer, iPad, and phone, I am not getting anything above 4 to 5 mbps. I called my ISP and they do not report any outages and are able to communicate with the modem just fine. I LAN conneted to the modem and was still only able to get 5 to 6 mbps. I understand my download speed will vary depending on the usage of each device, but I would not think it would diminish so drastically. Is there anyway to configure the router so that I can maximize the speeds? or is this a common problem for the router/modem? Thanks!4.7KViews1like1CommentComcast customers: will Firmware V3.01.14 fix my N450 (CG3000Dv2) connectivity issues?
For the past half a year, my N450 (CG3000Dv2) cabel modem router has been completely unreliable. It regularly drops connection. Sometimes restarting helps, sometimes it doesn't. I've rebooted the box a couple times, and that helps for maybe a day, sometimes less. This connectivity issue seems to be a common complaint for N450, and also seems to be tied to the V3.01.06 firmware (makes sense to me, based on when my problems started). I see that V3.01.14 has been pushed by Comcast to its customers. Any Comcast N450 customers on here who had connectivity issues with V3.01.06? And if so, did those problems go away with V3.01.14? I have Spectrum, which is still using V3.01.06. It's really frustrating to be experiencing this problem, especially since I had suffered through the same issue over a year ago. That time, the probably spontaneously resolved, presumably when the Firmware was updated. I think it happened around the same time as the Time Warner Cable merger with Charter, and this time the problem seems to correspond with the mergers with Spectrum.3.9KViews0likes8Commentsblinking lights
What does it mean when the downstream LED is blinking blue? The Netgear manual says it should be Solid Blue (more than 1 downstream channnel locked), Solid Green (1 downstream channnel locked), Blinking Green (Scanning) or OFF (No downstream channel locked). This is a N450 WiFi Cable Modem connected to COX. I do have wireless and wired internet service. Thanks.3.8KViews0likes1Comment
