I have just bought a Netgear Nighthawk M1 through Telstra to enable working in the field. Plugged into the wallmount to charge and the battery seems to drain instead. It will only charge through USB which defeats the purpose of being completely mobile. There is a community discussion on this going back to 2014 but no obvious solution offered. Any suggestions? What is the AT entercnd password?
You can connect via "telnet 192.168.1.1 5510" to gain access to "AT shell" which responds to various AT commands, e.g. status or band selection. "at!entercnd" is the command for band selection but it needs a password. What is the password? It's not any of the common ones it usually is.MR1100 – Nighthawk M1 Strict NAT on Xbox Issue
Hello, all. A few months back I purchased a unlimited data plan with at&t along with this hotspot in order to game on the Xbox One with it. So, I get on Xbox to find that I have a Strict NAT. I know many here would automatically point me towards a beginners guide on port forwarding but, that's my problem. I did that. I port forwarded everything it asked me to, I tried it both with a static IP and without a static IP. I reset my Xbox time and time again along with clearing the MAC address (After every change to the settings I the modem I made, I reset my Xbox and made sure to unplug it for at least a minute and drain the power block). Hell, I even tried to enable DMZ, knowing that it was dangerous and it STILL didn't open my NAT. My model of nighthawk has UPnP, but that doesn't work either for some reason. In the network settings of the Xbox it says the following: IPv4 NAT Type: Strict UPnP not successful xbox.com/xboxone/UPnP All services are available. I went to the link provided here and tried their method to make UPnP work. It didn't. I attached a screenshot of my attwifimanager page show what I did to port forward (I blocked out my static IP because I didn't know if it would be safe to share here) I would be grateful to anyone who could give me a STEP BY STEP for this model/at&t solution. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong because I've been trying to fix this for months.Nighthawk M1 Linux RNDIS / USB Connectivity Issues After Latest Firmware Update
So after a Firmware update (either Telstra or Netegar, not sure who is the culprit!) on the Nighthwak M1, USB tethering connectitvity stopped for Linux-based OSs (excluding MAC OS of course). Tested on Ubuntu / Debian etc. Big thanks to Uebernerd (Post 135 on https://community.netgear.com/t5/Mobile-Routers-Hotspots-Modems/Netgear-810-update/m-p/1251948 ) In short, Linux does not pick up the correct bConfigurationValue for cdc_ether (it sets it as "1" and not "3"), which stops tethering from working. Instead of using my two Nighthawk M1s as doorstops, I have managed to get them back up and running. The following script can be modified to monitor dmesg (throw in a "while" etc.): #!/bin/bash usb_port=`dmesg | grep MR1100 | egrep -o '[0-9]+\-[0-9]+'` if [ "$usb_port" != "" ]; then echo 3 > /sys/bus/usb/devices/$usb_port/bConfigurationValue fi Obviously this will require running with super-user privileges. It's a cludgy workaround, so if anyone knows how to make this more permanent, please feel free to respond to this post! CheersNighthawk Model# MR1100-100 - ethernet and internet connectivity
Nighthawk Model# MR1100-100 - ethernet connectivity Using Mac-mini: connection is shown, yet no traffic is shown with any app. Browser shows "no connection", mail does not load etc etc. Router is set to both tether and charge, 5Ghz only. (single or dual does not affect the situation) Mac is set to allocate the connection to Ethernet first, then Wifi etc. I have had wifi actually turned off on the mac, wanting to ascertain efficiency of the router via ethernet. It does work on occasion, but have yet to figure out if there is a "special boot sequence". If router is activated AFTER mac boots: Will not work. If router is already active BEFORE mac boots: Will not work. DURING wifi use, can sometimes get a response when mac system settings are changed to use ethernet as priority, but not consistent responses. If the mac is put to "sleep", Ethernet connection fails. If mac is running wifi and ethernet is prioritised and diconnected and then plugged in, a response can occur frm the router, but not always. In all of these cases it is possible to see that there is an ethernet connection recognised by the Mac with the grren "connected to internet" indication 8/10 times. Ethernet cable is brand new. ...so it really looks like a router hardware issue. Please advise. I have had this device for 7 days now from EE (UK) as my main internet AP, so I really need this to be reliable. LAST POINT: Using wifi or the odd occasion when ethernet also works, the web-page build/response time can be up to 24 sec. It is never under 6 seconds. This is both on wifi and ethernet. - OS: Sierra 10.12.6 Router Model: MR1100-100 H/W: 1.0 Firmware: NTG9X50C_10.20.05.00Does MR1100 have a firewall?
I have a business customer that has to use this device as their new office is in a new industrial estate that does not yet have phone lines. Question is, does it have a firewall? If not what firewall would go with it? There is between 5-10 users some via cable, others via wifi. Thanks in advance. ToddSolvedIP-Passthrough or Bridge Mode
Hi Guys, So there are several posts on the interwebs about additional functionality being exposed through FW updates to these devices. Does anyone know when we might be seeing this functionality. These devices are great but they are less usefull as a business failover device using a Dual-WAN Router as a CPE as IPsec VPN tunnels and the likes do not seem to work very well. I am really really keen to see this functionality as it would form the basis of a great cookie cutter HA deployment for small businesses who require direct internet access for SaaS products but do not want to pay for the price of Business grade connectivity for failover. Please please tell me this should be coming out soon. IT DudeNetgear Nighthawk M1 drops LTe connection every day and requires multiple reboots
Hi there, Purchased a Nighthawk M1 (MR1100) from Telstra recently. Seems to work well in terms of speed. But a few problems including severe lack of configuration for DHCP (the only item you can configure is DHCP range - there's no fixed host mappings, or any even basic features present in almost every other device on the market. I really hope this is addressed in a future patch or Netgear advise a secret menu to access these basic features as it's really disappointing and lets the router down at the present time). However, it's by far the fastest I've ever tested. Anyway to the main problem. Every day when I come home the device is no longer providing Internet over the connected ethernet cable. I can connect to the modem admin screen fine, and it reports it's connected to the internet (reports LTE connection is fine and has been connected for over a day); however, no devices on the network can use the internet and the only way to solve it is by restarting the MR1100 multiple times eventually it starts routing traffic again. This problem does not occur on any of the other modems I've tested using the same SIM/Service so it's definitely an issue with the MR1100. Something is wrong with the software - need someone from Netgear to sort this out. Also Netgear you need to add the Nighthawk M1 to your model list as I had to assign this ticket against a random unrelated modem as your product list isn't up to date.
