6 TopicsReadyCloud PC Backup slow transfer speeds
Hi I'm having very different transfer speeds depending on how I send files to the NAS. I have a new RN314 that I've upgraded to OS 6.2.2. I did a factory reset after upgrading to 6.2.2 If I drag and drop files into folders on the NAS using Windows explorer I can get transfer rates of over 100MB/s. Averaging somewhere over 80 - 100MB/sec. Very happy with this. But when I use the backup function in the ReadyCloud PC app in Windows 7 (same PC) the transfer speed drops to an average of about 15MB/sec. I've tried turning Bitrot protection on and off and it doesn't make any difference. Any ideas?4KViews0likes0CommentsBrand new ReadyNAS 102 keep freezing and going offline?
I have recently bought a RN102, I have a WD 3TB Nas HDD in it atm. the main things uploaded are movies and series which are Mp4, AVI and some MKV. sometimes the NAS just freezes, I wont be able to access it though the web or be able to shut it down with the power button. if I open up readycloud webpage it just says 'no USB or Volume' and the RAIDar app finds it on my network now and again. while all this is going on I am able to see and stream from the device on my xbox one and phone. I have had this for RN102 for 1/2 weeks and it has MAX 2 users at once, sometimes 2 users while I upload files as well. any suggestions?3.7KViews0likes3CommentsPerformance Concerns RN10400
My experience with a ReadyNAS R104 (Firmware V6.2.0, three 4-TB Seagate ST4000VN00 HDDs) has me seriously wondering. Here is my litany of some of the problems: 1. Setup took 48 hours for what I presume was building the volume to a RAID 5 configuration. (Netgear calls it Resync data which had me seriously puzzled since I had no data on the bare disks.) Netgear support told me the process would take no more than 24 hours, had me do a factory reset which essentially cost me one day since the second iteration was exactly the same as the first. 2. Setting up the ReadyCLOUD, the process suggested I back up the normal c:\users\ .... folders. Backup of the Document folder was going to take at least 4 days (folder ~ 6GB). The ReadyCLOUD software must have all the folders at the user root level since one can't drill down into the file/folder structure to access 'smaller' folders. 3. Taking the Quicken data folder up to the user root level allowed me to set up a share folder consisting of a 3 MB file and a 1.5 MB file. Anytime either of the files is changed, the entire folder is resync'ed (rebuilt) from the PC taking about 20 minutes which is an unacceptable delay since my finances transport delay can be in the minutes. I also like to turn off my PC (which seems to be a passing fancy). 4. My PC bootup went from 20 seconds to 3 minutes because of the ReadyCLOUD client. So much for the SSD disk drive I purchased to reduce the HDD based boot process. I will admit that the PC appears usable during this long boot but what processes are impacted and what are not impacted is over my pay grade. 5. I use to run my some of my PC system backups to the old NAS, an Iomega StorCenter (1 TB RAID 1). Over a 1 GB LAN (I use a Netgear FVS336Gv2 firewall router and a GS116v2 switch) the performance compared to USB3 was poor but it would take around 2 hours for a PC system recovery backup. The same backup to the ReadyNAS R104 was going to take 44 hours (as estimated by Norton Ghost). So where have I gone wrong? Ken Goodwin, Houston, Texas3.5KViews0likes0CommentsSystem Offline
Hi All, I am having a great deal of issues with my ReadyNAS 102 connection to the internet. Everything works correctly on the LAN side, when I tried to install an app or connect via ReadyCloud I get check your internet connection. I checked cables, ports pretty much everything physical and still get offline..3.5KViews0likes1CommentReadycloud transfer speed
Hello, I am currently encountering performance issue using ReadyCloud to share pictures or audio files over the Internet. My internet connection is of type VDSL2 from the ISP Free (I'm living in France) (DL: 80MB/s UP: 19Mb/s). http://www.speedtest.net/result/3969450749.png Using ReadyCloud the transfer speed is variable between 50kb/s and 200kb/s. mostly 70kb/s... But when using the FTP transfer server speed is up to the top of my connection (2.3Mb/s). So It's not my internet connexion which reduce the upload speed. I think it's readycloud server which lock transfer rate to 200kb/s... With this speed readycloud is simply unusable. Is there anyone with the same problems? a solution? My NAS is a RN104 using ReadyNas 6.2.4KViews1like0CommentsSlow response due to Denied permission to ReadyCloud ?
My system is currently running extremely slow, and after investigating the logfiles on my MacBook Air running the latest versions of OSX, I see something strange ; 23.04.13 00:11:45,490 ReportCrash[10730]: Saved crash report for ReadyCloudAgent[10731] version ??? to /Users/eier2/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ReadyCloudAgent_2013-04-23-001145_Torsteins-MacBook-Air.crash 23.04.13 00:11:45,492 ReportCrash[10730]: Removing excessive log: file://localhost/Users/eier2/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ReadyCloudAgent_2013-04-23-000825_Torsteins-MacBook-Air.crash 23.04.13 00:11:55,489 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[236]: (com.netgear.readycloud[10732]) open("/var/log/readycloud.log", ...): 13: Permission denied 23.04.13 00:11:55,489 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[236]: (com.netgear.readycloud[10732]) open("/var/log/readycloud.log", ...): 13: Permission denied 23.04.13 00:11:55,500 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[236]: (com.netgear.readycloud[10732]) Job appears to have crashed: Trace/BPT trap: 5 23.04.13 00:11:55,500 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[236]: (com.netgear.readycloud) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds I get these log errors about every 10 seconds ! I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 4 as a media storage device ( not for TimeMachine ). What can I do to shut the ReadyCloud thing OFF ??? I cannot remember having switched something like that on either.... RAIDar does not reveal any ReadyCloud settings that I can see...or am I missing something ? Hope to get some help out there :-) UPDATE : ...and yes, I have enabled ReadyNAS Remote for iPhone. It didn´t work until recently, after the latest update on AppStore only a few days ago. Maybe this Remote application is opening up something from the ReadyNAS Cloud ? I do not have a Cloud account though.... Shouldn´t work for Ultra 4´s...7KViews0likes13Comments
