What are the differences Between the R6250 and the C6250 Cable / Modem / Routers? I'm shopping for a New Cable Modem so as to circumnavigate TWC's Monthly Cable Modem Fees. I have one picked out but of course there's a wrench in the cog. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Last week I bought a R6250 Wifi Router, and I have problems with 2.4Gb wifi connections. They are too slow. I have 300 Mb (download) and 30 Mb (upload) with my ISP provider. With 5Ghz Wifi connection I have more than 200Mb for download and 30 Mb for upload, but with 2.4Gb Wifi connection I have 15/20 Mb for downloading and only 1-5 MB for uploading. With my old 2Ghz wifi connection I had 35/40 Mb for donwloading and 20/30 MB for uploading. I'm using speedtest app on mobile devices to do the speed tests. The firmware version is V1.0.4.2_10.1.10. Can anyone help me with this problem? Any recommendation?SolvedIt's time for another Unable To Connect to routerlogin.net thread
I have a R6250 Smart WIFI Router (but the field above won't accept that as a valid entry. Odd, but irrelevant for now.) It's about 1 month out of warranty -- of course. I use an iMac running MacOS Sierra v10.12.2 The iMac is wired to the router. I do not run Kaspersky anti-virus software. A few days ago I got an email from NetGEAR saying there was a "Security Vulnerability" and that I should "download the production version of the firmware release to automatically install the R6250 firmware". I downloaded the zip file and unpacked it and am ready to go. But... The instructions say to browse to www.routerlogin.net. Like a lot of other people here on the board, I found that didn't work. I tried two different browsers and I also tried routerlogin.com and the usual IP address - 192.168.1.1 I think it is. I even looked at the IP address in System Info and tried that - 192.168.1.10 but that didn't work either. The error is "Unable to connect - Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at www.routerlogin.net." (It's wordedd slightly differently in Safari.) Any idea what to do now? If I can't connect, I can't upgrade the firmware, and I really would like to do that. Rob StevensonSolved4KViews0likes2CommentsCan't connect to work VPN through R6250
Hello all, I used to be able to bring my work laptop home and connect to my work e-mail, as well as connect to my office VPN through my R6250 wireless router. I hadn't done it in awhile but have had a need to access that information from home again. When I attempted to use my Microsoft Outlook e-mail, it will not sync to the mail server at home. Also, the VPN connection, which used to work flawlessly, will no longer connect. I hadn't changed any settings in my routher since I installed it nearly two years ago, but I have upgraded the firmward to the most recent release. Has anyone got any ideas or tips of settings I can look for in the routher that may be blocking the ability to sync my e-mail or use the VPN? Thanks in advance for your assistance!Solved
