R700 Version: 1.0.7.10_1.2.3 I called cox communications today to see if I qualified for a special to go from premium speed 100/10 to utlimate speed 300/15. They are telling me that I would have to have a Actiontec WCB6200q put into the network in order for their increased speed to work on my network correctly along with renting the device for $9.95 a month. I think they are trying to get me to rent something I don't need (I could always buy my own if need be). I do not have any issues with my network, we will having company for a few months and this person will most likely increase the the usage quite a bit. So what I am asking is Cox Communications trying to pull a fast one on me? My SkyStream-One Android TV box (which is GREAT) I have directly connected to my R7000. I use the ethernet cabels that was run throughout my home when it was built. I have another that runs to my home office to my main desktop. Other laptops, Ipad, etc. use wifi/bluetooth. I also a have a Netgear wireless extender upstairs that works well for Ipads, laptops, etc. I am confused why I would have to have this Actiontec WCB6200Q extender to utilize 300/15 bandwidth. Can anyone enlighten me?(2.9KViews0likes3CommentsR7000>EX6200 Antenna Replacement
So i have a R7000(2dBi) & EX6200(5dBi). [Distance: 160'+ / through woods and brick walls | running a cat cable is not financially suitable] I have my extender configured with fastlane technology: router>2.4gHz | end-device>5gHz sidenote: How can I configure what channel from the extender side (2.4) to router (2.4) i am broadcasting on, so that it can match with the channel on the router side? Or does the extender side recognize the channel the router is already broadcasting on and select that as the appropriate channel? I want to replace one antenna on each end with a 13dbi yagi wireless high gain booster directional antenna rp-sma inside to keep safe from the elements and direct towards the opposite to get a better connection. Would this create a better connection in order to acheive a greater download speed? Is it possible to run two dual-band and one 2.4gHz yagi antenna(s) on the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 | one yagi/omni on the Netgear Wi-fi Extender EX6200?5KViews0likes2CommentsEX7000, loss 5Ghz SSID / all connected devices
Been using my EX7000 as an accesspoint, both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz for clients. The EX7000 is connected with wire. Once a week or every second week at least, all clients connected to 5Ghz will loose the connection and the SSID is not visible any more. Only a restart solves the problem, also seen the 2.4Ghz drop all connections and SSID gone, once but never again. Using two different SSID, one for 2.4 and one for 5ghz, so I know which one that disappears. As I have it connected to the wired network as well, I can log in and do a restart. Currently at: Firmware Version V1.0.0.38_1.0.91 Any suggestions?.. Did notice that the R7000 had the same problem when I searched the forum, but no luck with a workaround/fix.3.3KViews0likes1CommentWiFi Extension to R7000
Hi - I have recently installed a Nighthawk R7000, but it needs a range extension to get to some parts of the house. The R7000 is AC1900 rated. I'm thinking of buying the EX6150 range extender, which is rated up to AC1200. Is this still compatible with the R7000, albeit at a slower speed? I'm put off buying an AC1900 extender as the price is 2-3 times higher than an AC1200 unit. many thanks for any advice. PeterSolved3.8KViews0likes2Comments
