Hi, hoping someone might be able to help me unbrick an unresponsive Orbi RBR40. It just decided to up and die on me, the second one to do so (the only reason I got another one was I found one very cheap on ebay and I have three satellites, replacing the whole setup with something more reliable is unaffordable for me). Since I can't replace it, and the lack of a mesh system is causing family strife, I thought I'd have a go at unbricking it. I bought a CP2104 USB serial adapter and pieced together info from a variety of sources. Eventually I was able to get a response via the serial connection in PuTTY, during a 30-30-30 reboot it displayed the following: ▒ Format: Log Type - Time(microsec) - Message - Optional Info Log Type: B - Since Boot(Power On Reset), D - Delta, S - Statistic S - QC_IMAGE_VERSION_STRING=BOOT.BF.3.1.1-00110 S - IMAGE_VARIANT_STRING=DAAAANAZA S - OEM_IMAGE_VERSION_STRING=CRM S - Boot Config, 0x00000023 S - Reset status Config, 0x00000000 S - Core 0 Frequency, 0 MHz B - 261 - PBL, Start B - 1339 - bootable_media_detect_entry, Start B - 46373 - bootable_media_detect_success, Start B - 46387 - elf_loader_entry, Start B - 51688 - auth_hash_seg_entry, Start B - 53832 - auth_hash_seg_exit, Start B - 107837 - elf_segs_hash_verify_entry, Start B - 221546 - PBL, End B - 221570 - SBL1, Start B - 313598 - pm_device_init, Start D - 9 - pm_device_init, Delta B - 315103 - boot_flash_init, Start D - 50752 - boot_flash_init, Delta B - 370199 - boot_config_data_table_init, Start D - 8549 - boot_config_data_table_init, Delta - (419 Bytes) B - 381353 - clock_init, Start D - 7529 - clock_init, Delta B - 392321 - CDT version:2,Platform ID:8,Major ID:1,Minor ID:0,Subtype:1 B - 395727 - sbl1_ddr_set_params, Start B - 400821 - cpr_init, Start D - 2 - cpr_init, Delta B - 405203 - Pre_DDR_clock_init, Start D - 4 - Pre_DDR_clock_init, Delta D - 13172 - sbl1_ddr_set_params, Delta B - 418500 - pm_driver_init, Start D - 2 - pm_driver_init, Delta B - 489721 - sbl1_wait_for_ddr_training, Start D - 27 - sbl1_wait_for_ddr_training, Delta B - 505896 - Image Load, Start B - 514265 - Boot error ocuured!. Error code: 3039 I haven't been able to find any info on boot error code 3039 to see if it looks like a fixable situation, or whether this device is just totally hosed. (I have not been able to interrupt the boot sequence by pressing keys as when this info comes up, it is over in a flash and I can't press any keys fast enough!) Any advice gratefully received, I am at the end of my tether with this damn thing 😒New ISP - now RBR40 loses internet constantly
Community, I need your input. I had to switch to a new ISP recently due to a change to my prior ISP that was giving me poor Mbps on 5G due to tower locations. I had no issues for the past 8 years with the RBR40 getting an internet signal. Now, I have a Charter Spectrum modem which is a basic modem only EU2251 (no router combo). I figured no problem and easy install for the tech. But, it's been about 16 hours since the install yesterday, and the RBR40 just drops internet constantly like every ten minutes, and even when I do have it, I get buffering. The testing of the speed on the Orbi admin shows download and upload speeds in the hundreds well above anything I've had historically. I have reviewed recommendations, made slight modifications, switched out a 5e cable with a 6, and even updated the latest and last firmware update 2.7.6.6 that I found. Nothing is working. I know RBR40 is old and only Wifi5, but I can't believe that a basic Spectrum modem would give RBR40 this many issues that it can't stay connected. I've removed power from both and restarted them in sequence of the modem fully online , then powered on the RBR40 multiple times. Everything looks good, and then bam, internet stops. It comes back about two minutes later, and the process repeats. I do plan on calling Spectrum today. I don't feel I should need to get a new mesh system just for a new internet provider with a basic modem. Any recommendations?SolvedRBR40 Blinking White Light
At about 3pm today I started experiencing connection issues on some devices, so AI decided to reboot the RBR40. It will not reconnect to my Verizon modem . It remains in a pulsating white light. I have tried power cycling the Verizon modem and the RBR40, but no success. I have unplugged all the satellites and AI am focusing on justing getting the RBR40 connected. I confirmed that the Verizon modem works by connecting directly to it with another device. The current firmware version is V2.7.5.6 which is one version before the recent release of V2.7.6.6 in January 2026. I am looking for next steps in troubleshooting. I can see the router in the Orbi app, but I cannot connect directly to it (e.g., to update firmware). Oddly, it does show the devices connected to the router, but the router is not connected to the Internet. I assume the next steps is to update the firmware before doing a factory reset. Can the update be done via web, or just download the firmware to a laptop and connect via Ethernet cable? Is it straightforward or so I need to be able to manipulate things that maybe a work laptop would not allow? Any other ideas? Is there anything else I can provide to help?SolvedNOTICE: New - RBK10/20/30/40/50 Series Firmware Version 2.7.6.6 Released

Hi, I do have an RBR40 with 3 satellites. Until some time ago (can't quantify, sorry) I had the VPN working nicely. Now is not working anymore, I can't even enable it clicking on the box and then Apply. Nothing happens. If I refresh the page after the Apply it shows disabled. There is something I can do ? Or I have to trash away the system because obsolete ? Thanks SteveAdding RBS40 to existing RB50 Network trouble
I currently have an AC3000 tri band RB50 wireless network at home. It consists of the following: (1) RBR50 Router (2) RBS50 Satellites This system works great and has no issues. I am attempting to attach more satellites to this network to extend the coverage to my garage, totaling to (4) satellites. I read online LINK that I can connect an RBS40 satellite to the RBR50 router without issues. I procured a used RB40 setup (1 router + 2 satellites) with the intent to reuse the satellites for my network and ditch the router. I have manually reset each satellite with the reset button upon initial powerup. I went thru the standard connecting procedure noted in the app as well as the .net interface. Each time the connection was unsuccessful. I am curious if this is a firmware issue? My current RB50 firmware is V2.7.5.6, and I have no way of telling what the used RB40 firmware is. I do have means to hardwire via ethernet cable from my RBR50 out to where I intend to use the new RBS40. Not sure if that makes a difference. Looking for some guidance to make this connection. Any help would be appreciated.SolvedGoogle Pixel 9 and Orbi Wi-Fi 5 issues
I've had my Orbi setup for years with little to no problems. However, for the past 2 weeks, my Google Pixel 9 Pro phone has behaved like it's on a dial-up modem connection when on my home wifi. It's fine with five other Wifi networks I use regularly, and its good with just the regular T-Mobile data connection. But it's definitely not happy with the Orbi Wifi. The last change to the Pixel was April 5th (system update) which was over a month ago, and it was fine for 2 weeks after. I've even done the Pixel 'reset network and Bluetooth settings' option to wipe the config from the phone and start fresh. On the Orbi, I've twiddled some of the advanced Wifi settings in the config but it's not changed anything. Has anyone else run into this? Any thoughts or suggestions? Other phones (iPhone, OnePlus) seem fine on the network.Solved
