RN204
5 TopicsRN204 - Please remove inactive volumes in order to use the disk
After the automated disk maintainance had ran I found it could no longer be discovered on the net. So I powered down and up my RN204 to find the weird 'resyncing' message on the LCD screen. Took several hours to resync. After that I find no volumes on the NAS and the confusing error message in my RAIDar screen with status message that volume data is rad level 5 and there is 0 MB data. Also a second volume that is new with same message, both in yellow highlight. Wen I log in as Admin I find a 'Please remove inactive volumes in order to use the disk. Disk #1,2,3,4 in order to use the drive' and the disks marked in red instead blue in the picture of the raid. Not shure what caused this, nor how to solve this. Use Readynas 204 with four bays containing identical 6 TB WD60EFRX drives (none of them indicating errors in SMART) in RAID 5 (Xraid) confing on lastest FW (v6.8.0) No clue how to solve this error. Can someone please help me with some advice? Thanks Hans1KViews0likes3CommentsRN204 "Failed to Startup" + Power Button/LED Flashes + Act LED Flashes
All of a sudden our RN204 was not available on the Network. Power Button was flashing, the ACT LED was flashings, and all four of the HDD Activity LEDs were on. Front Power Button did not work, only way to remove power was to pull the AC adapter connection in the back. When power is reapplied, the Boot process starts, then after about 12 mins, we see the following two messages: > "Failed to Startup" > Retry Startup" While in this mode/state, RaidAR does not see the device. If we go into Tech Support Mode, we see: > [57110] 0.0.0.0 If all four HDDs are removed and we re-enter Tech Support Mode, we see: > [57110] 192.168.168.168 At any time, we can not use the Web-Based Admin to connect the RN204. We have a lot of data and will need to recover it, so hopefully the data is still intact Anyone see this? Where you able to resolve the problem? Any suggestions that does not involve re-formatting the HDDs.2.9KViews0likes3CommentsReadynas 204 reboot message phy_ethtools_set_wol+4
Hi, I hope someone can help. I select Restart in my ReadyNas control panel to try to refresh my DLNA cache to pick up some new items which hadn't appeared. After rebooting, the RN204 was not accessible on the network and it had the message phy_ethtools_set_wol+4 on its front screen. I left it about 20 minutes but nothing happened and it didn't come back so I powered it off and back on again and the same message has appeared on the front screen phy_ethtools_set_wol+4. I am unable to access the RN204 via the network and don't know what to do. I can't find any reference to this code in the forums or on the internet. Does anyone know what this means and how I can get the ReadyNas working again as I am worried about my data. Thanks RobSolved3.9KViews0likes14CommentsCan I use ReadyNas as a hard drive for my lightroom 6?
I have a computer I built with running Windows 10 PRO. I only have a 240GB SSD for my hard drive. What I want know is can I also use the RN204 for my Network backup and also use it to work from Lightroom 6 for my photography? I have tried to get it too work but no luck. I currently have it set up with ethernet cables connected to my Netgear AC1750 Wi-Fi router. Do I need to run a USB 3 cord from my computer to the RN204? I used to use my old WD backup drive to work from until it died and I lost all my pictures. So I decided to get the RN204 and put 2 network WD 2 TB drives in it. Can someone help me with this? Hi, I have recently bought an RN204 NAS with 2x 3TB HDDs and wanted to expand this (2 bays are empty). Currently it is set up in RAID format (although I'm not sure what setting - X-RAID/RAID5 etc) But I wanted to know if I go and buy 2x 6TB HDDs for example, would that give me a total of 9TB space and would I have to do any tinkering? Thanks in advance!Solved2.9KViews0likes2Comments
