My readyshare drive (external hard drive) plugged into the USB 3.0 port was inaccessible after updating my R8000 firmware to the latest verions 1.0.3.54. The drive wasn't being recognized by the router, by checking the web interface. There was no issue with the drive when plugged into the USB 2.0 port or my laptop. I checked the USB 3.0 port with a couple other external hard drives and usb pen drives. Again with the same results, not recognized in the USB 3.0 port, but working fine in the USB 2.0 port. Resetting back to factory settings didn't help. From there I rolled back to firmware version 1.0.3.48, and then like magic the drive in the USB 3.0 port was being recognized. There seems to be several posts regarding issues with the USB 3.0 port, but the only solutions being offered by support is to try a factory reset. I was very close to contacting support for a hardware replacement since my warranty is close to the end of the one year. My issue isn't hardware, it's with the firmware. I hope there is work being done resolve the issue in a firmware update.Solved2.9KViews0likes2CommentsReadyShare vault doesn't recognise USB drive
I've bought a new R7000 and hooked up a Samsung M3 (2TB) USB drive. The router recognises the drive perfectly and works fine for accessing files through e.g. Windows Explorer. But, Ready Share Vault does not recognise my backup drive and says "No ReadySHARE device detected". I've also tried another Samsung drive (1TB), but it also wasn't recognised. After reading all related posts, I'm unable to get the drive recognised. Please help.Solved9.2KViews0likes6Commentsreadyshare mount error(13): Permission denied
I'm using Linux Mint 18.1 Mate. This WAS working. Used: sudo mount -t cifs //###.###.###.###/USB_storage /media/public -o sec=ntlm Prompted for password and I'm in. That's NOT WORKING anymore. Nothing I've tried seems to work. I'm NOT using Windows, connecting to ANYTHING Windows. This is STRICTLY a LINUX problem. I CAN connect directly to the USB drive. In, plain english (please), what can I do to troubleshoot this and fix it? ThanxSolved11KViews0likes6CommentsUSB Drive Compatibility List for R6700
Trying to find a compatible USB drive, but the compatibility list... https://kb.netgear.com/18985/ReadySHARE-USB-Drives-Compatibility-List ...does not include my router. Does anyone know if this is an oversight, or is no drives are compatible? Seems like an awful specific oversight, and the list is different for each router.Solved4.2KViews0likes3CommentsR8000 ReadySHARE stopped finding plugged in Seagate SRD00F2 external HD
Plugged in new 5TB Seagate external HD (model SRD00F2) and initially ReadySHARE found device and let me backup files via ReadySHARE Vault. Went back after 15 minutes and HD was now shownig as not accessible. Unplugged and plugged external HD back into USB 3.0 port and then tried USB 2.0 port, no luck. Now ReadySHARE just says "please make sure a USB disk is plugged into router's USB. Have and R8000 for about 8 months. It worked before, wondering if something can be done to fix this defect. Thanks, MarcSolved4.6KViews0likes2CommentsReadyshare USB stopped working after update to Firmware V1.0.5.70
I updated the Firmware to V1.0.5.70 and my Readyshare USB function stopped working. It has been set up and working fine for several years until this update. I have tried 12 different USB flash drives in both the front and rear port with no luck. Multiple reboots have also made no difference. I have notices the USB plug gets very warm but it may have always done that.Solved5.1KViews0likes8CommentsNighthawk R7000 does readycloud override readyshare?
I just updated the firmware on my Nighthawk R7000 and decided to try the ReadyCloud option. We have used ReadyShare to access drives on our local network for years. However, once I set up ReadyCloud I could see the drive on my local network but the files do not show up. Is there a way to use both? I would like the ReadyCloud access for times I am not at home, but it is way too slow for regular use. Plus we have a Sonos that needs to access music from the ReadyShare drive. ThanksSolved3.2KViews0likes4Commentsr7000 readyshare when used as access point
Note that the R7000 ac1900 doesn't show in the product list - somebody in NetGear please fix this. Comcast just upgraded my cable modem to one that includes a router, so I have to "demote" my previous main router, and R7000 to access point status. I've done this by setting a fixed IP address, and connecting it to the new main router via an ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports on the R7000. Now when I fire up Netgear Genie, and pick readyshare, I'm told my router doesn't support readyshare. Clearly nonsense - worked fine before. I have to specify the IP manually. Is Genie still going to 192.168.1.1 even though I specify 192.168.1.222? That seems likely. How do I get readhshare working again - it's my son's only backup for his laptop. Also the readyshare drive no longer appears in my win 10 "My computer" listings.Solved6.5KViews0likes4Comments
