I logged into my Netgear R7000 with the only intention of changing the passwords for both my 2.4G and 5G bands, to the same thing of course just more encrypted because I'm in the middle of a metropolitan area. When I first got to the homepage there was a firmware update that I performed successfully. I've been changed both passwords to the same thing and updated the page. It seems stuck on this page for several minutes until finally an error message came up across the entire page in bold letters which I told to a customer service rep on the phone. I didn't go ahead with the phone support because I am outside of the 90 day window for free phone support and they wanted to charge me a fair amount of money so I figure I can find everything online, I made a mistake of read starting my Mac laptop at the same time as I power cycled my router and therefore lost the error message before I wrote it down or screenshot it. Anyway I decided to do a factory reset of the router which seemed successful however when I choose my Netgear## from the list of WiFi choices it comes up with a WPA2 password for me to enter. I first tried the default "password". I've tried every password that I've used in reference to this router that I have meticulously kept in my 1password program but nothing works. There is no option for a username. Since Apple has eliminated ethernet ports on their newest laptops and I don't have the adapter for this I am stuck trying to deal with this through Wi-Fi. Worst case scenario oh I can borrow a friends laptop with ethernet but I'm just wondering if this is something that someone has a solution for. I've reset the modem probably 4 different times starting when everything was connected to it and finally the last time resetting it with it only being plugged into a power source. Any help would be appreciated.Solved29KViews0likes4CommentsFS750T2 does not boot, all lights are green
I have 2 used of these switches, both with the same problem: When I put in the powercord all lights of the 48 ports are on (green). Nothing happens when I connect the switch to my modem. Is seems that nothing happens when I use the restart button and/or reset to factory settings button. Suddenly (I don't know exactly after what I was doing) I saw a switch in the SmartWizard and only 1 port was green. It looks like the switch was working fine and I installed the latest firmware. All went fine, but after I take off the powercord and put it back again the same problem appaers. Now I can do what I want, nothing seems to help to reboot the switch. Is there a certain reset procedure to use the reset and/or reset to factory button(s)? Do anyone have an idea why the switch is not booting complete? Ane other ideas are welcome, thank you in advance!SolvedHow to Reset N600 WiFi Cable Modem Router?
Hi. I forgot to reset my N600 WiFi Cable Modem Router to factory defaults before disconnecting it from my network. :smileyfrustrated: I want to reset it before selling it, and don't have cable-based internet service anymore. Is there a way to reset it to factory defaults without connecting it to a network? Thanks!Solved16KViews0likes1CommentOrbi WiFi System performed a hard reset to factory defaults overnight
I got my orbit set up on Sunday. Everything was working well until Tuesday morning. When I woke up Tuesday morning my SSID had changed back to ORB20. Tried to logon with my password, didn't work. All my settings were gone, a factory reset had taken place overnight. Check with the family and no one played with the system. Any idea how a factory reset and happen 'spontanously'? RBR50 Firmware V1.10.1.2 Operation Mode RouterOrbi always loses configuration after cable modem reset
Hi - I have a Orbi RBR50 and one RBS50. My firmware version is V1.12.0.18 I have always had a problem where my Orbi base unit will lose its configuration information every time my cable modem resets. If I turn off my Orbi base before resetting my cable modem, there are no problems - this only occurs when the cable modem resets on its own, or my cable company loses signal to my modem. The lost configuration issue I see is this: After the cable modem comes back up, I get limited connectivity on my home LAN, and a lot of websites are not accessible. If I try to go to the Orbi configuration pages, I continuously get prompted to re-enter my username and password (which always fails). Eventually, I will get prompted to enter my router serial number, and I get my password recovery questions. However, even after that, my provided username/password (which is the one I always enter) still gets rejected. A while after that, I will get a prompt that says that my Orbi base address was changed to 10.0.0.1 to prevent IP address conflicts. At this point (it's been about 20 minutes since starting), I can usually get to the configuration page to reconfigure back to the 192.168.1.1 address and DNS range. I have had this problem for many months now, and Netgear hasn't fixed it with any firmware updates. How do I get this issue elevated to get the Orbi firmware issue resolved? This could be a massive pain to customers who aren't tech savvy and can't even get to the internet because their Orbi gets messed up by this.SolvedWNDR3400v3 N600 Wireless Dual Band Router password reset instructions don't work
I don't understand why when I ran antivirus software it alerted me I have a weak router username and password. I have set a new username and password and have clicked "apply." But when I follow the instructions which are copied>pasted, below, I get to step 2. and it only accepts the *old* username and password to log in as described in step 2. Then when I do step 4 and click on "Wireless," it opens up the page and displays the *new* updated SSID and Passphrases, NOT the *old* username and password I had to type in in step 2. Why do they not match? I want to update my "too weak" username and password but it does not appear to be saving it based on going through the provided steps, below. Even more confusing: Step 6 is not accurate because there is no field with that name. There is a field named "passphrase," but not a field named "Password (Network Key)." I have clicked the "apply" button but then when I log out and try to log back in again, once again it asks for a username and password but will only take the *old* one, and my antivirus scan repeats that the username and password are still too weak. Here are the steps NETGEAR offers me online for my model: Article ID: 23439 To change your WiFi password or network name (SSID): Launch an Internet browser and type http://www.routerlogin.net into the address bar. If you are having problems accessing routerlogin.net, visit Router login page cannot be displayed or is blank. Enter the router user name and password when prompted. The default user name is admin. The default password is password. Click OK. The BASIC Home page displays. Select Wireless. Enter your new user name in the Name (SSID) field. Enter your new password in the Password (Network Key) fields. Click the Apply button. Your changes are saved.SolvedCannot reset CMD31T modem

SMB share is still working Tried Rebooting Tried Reset via reset pin on back and selecting OS Reinstall - same issue Raidar Diagnostic will not connect, but raidar says unit is healthy ! I cannot download the logs because login is not working, I know the password before someone suggests password recovery. Looking at USB recovery but cannot get the tool to recognise any firmware to make a usb for me. Format USB to Fat32 and put these in root Reboot machine and hold backup for 30 seconds. Machine says booting from usb, then after a few minutes, resets and does FW Upgrade. But the firmware is still 6.7.5 ?? How to do it? What am I doing wrong? I know the issue is network adapter related because "\\192.168.1.101\folder" is working fine, but "\\192.168.1.147\folder" comes up with network error do i want to diagnose? If I factory reset it with different disks in it, can I the set it to x-raid and put back the original disks without losing data? Will factory reset put the original firmware back in or will it use 6.7.5 ? Grazie in anticipo!Solved6.2KViews0likes4Comments
