I currently use the SRX5308 in WAN load balancing mode so that I can use all the bandwidth that I pay for rather than have one connection in standby. With load balancing mode, it seems that it is not possible to use the SRX5308 with ipv6, not even on a single WAN interface. It would be good to see the SRX5308 support ipv6 in the future on one or more WAN interfaces with load balancing enabled.22KViews1like2CommentsIPV6 in load balancing mode on SRX5308
If you have more them one internet connect you cannot use IPV6, because IPV6 is only available in Primary WAN Mode. Also you lose all you’re settings when you change from Load Balancing to Primary WAN Mode or from Primary WAN to Load Balancing Mode, which is very frustrating.20KViews2likes2CommentsGibabit Router with bandwidth control, logging features, startpage (to accecpt terms of conditions)
I am looking for a router which I will use in a hotel environment. We have a 200MBit connection, so it shouldn't be a 100MBit router. We want to connect several (~5) wifi access points to provide Internet to our guests. Every guest has to accept our terms of condition before he can use the Internet. Every connection should be logged within a logfile with date, time and the MAC addresses. Furthermore we want to limit the bandwidth of every device (for instance 3Mbit) Do you have a router which fits this requirements?20KViews0likes3Commentsupdate dynamic dns service providers on SRX5308
Right now we only have the option to use Dyndns.org, Oray.net, TZO.com or 3322.org. Dyndns & Oray now both point to dyn.com and are no longer free to use. TZO & 3322 both point to some chinese website... Last year in a support ticket i asked for an update to these dynamic dns service providers on the ProSafe SRX5308 and I was told this: The custom dynamic DNS feature is already implemented by engineering and is currently being reviewed by quality control. (feature request 7033) You can expect this feature in the next firmware release, unfortunately I don't have a release date yet. At that time 4.3.4.1 was the current firmware version. Now I see that 4.3.4.2 is available, but this still doesn't bring any changes to the dynamic dns services. Is there an update on the eta of this feature?17KViews2likes2CommentsDHCP - Need to release IP addresses
Hi, I want a "release" function on UTM50 as it is in many other routers. We often do a lot of test on PDA's and tablets and the IP addresses is not enough. The test itself take maybe 15 minutes and then we take one more units and so on (we also have 5 to 10 units at the same time). The standard lease is 24 h and we have lowered it to 1 h but that is not enough for us. A simple release function should do the trick, then we can release the units we want or just release all. This function is on a lot of routers today.15KViews4likes1Commentvlan (ipv6 futureproofing)
Hi, We have a SRX5308 and a couple of FVS336 as well as a few other routers. We are futureproofing our corporate network by deploying ipv6 in parallel of ipv4. our address scheme was chosen as to be as simple for the admins as possible : ipv4 : 10.bbb.ccc.ddd (where bbb also denotes the vlan) ipv6 : fdgg:gggg:gggg:bbb::ccc:ddd:1 it's been deployed within the network, and it runs fine, no issues. our primary firewall-routerchain (not netgear) is also updated and works. I'm now trying to configure one of the netgear, and I'm discovering the issue where the ipv6 mode doesn't support vlan (at least through the GUI). is there any way to actually make ot work (telnet ?) or am I wasting my time, and should at some point replace them with other hardware ?15KViews3likes1CommentSupport QoS Through VPN Tunnel
This has been discussed a couple times in the forums. Specifically some ability to condition traffic via QoS over the VPN tunnel. In my case I would like to provide precedence attributes to various services running across the tunnerl. In particular, VoIP. I have to VoIP PBXs that communicate over my inter-office VPN tunnel and I would like to give this traffice precendence (both IP - diffserv - precedence along with bandwidth precedence) over other non-VoIP traffice occuring over the tunnel Reference: https://community.netgear.com/t5/VPN-Firewalls/Point-to-Point-VPN-best-practices-for-VOIP/td-p/124710515KViews2likes1Comment
