I have a wifi printer (Canon PIXMA TS6070) which was function very well in my previous wifi network. Recently, I have established a new wifi network using the Orbi RBK40 and the previous one was discarded. The performance of the Orbi wifi network is working very good and performance is very good too. All my mobile devices (such as notebook, iPad, mobile phones) can join the new wifi network easily with connecting to the new SSID created. However, my wifi printer is failed to join the wifi network. At the panel screen of the wifi printer, it cannnot detect the SSID of the Orbi network but it can detect all other SSID of my neighbour's network. I don't understand what the problem is. Right now I cannot use the wifi printer wirelessly. Does anyone here knows what the problem is and have solution for this problem? Please give me some advice. Thank you very much.SolvedCannot access my router settings (log-in) in any way (factory reset'd several times)
Hey everyone, before I start I want to apologize if this is not the correct section to post this thread. The router I currently own is this one (click here) and I simply cannot access my router settings (routerlogin.com or 192.168.1.1) I do get the text box to input my username : password but all the login infos I've looked up in google won't work. Text Box I get to see. I tried multiple sites to check for login info and none work, one of those being this huge "2018 updated" list: https://www.lifewire.com/netgear-default-password-list-2619154 At the beggining I thought it could be my router messing stuff around because sometimes I got a message saying "Your conenction is not secure" so I tried on MS Edge and then on Firefox, no luck either. I decided to contact ISP, blah, blah, for security reasons they cannot give me admin : password (not sure why?) [My ISP provided me this Netgeat router, I didn't buy it by myself]. Anyhow I did not care about what they said because I used to have TrendNET router and could access to my router settings with no interference from them; the next big step I did was holding the little "factory reset" until the power light started to blink (Not sure if it's held more time it might do something). After factory reset I got the default SSID and PW of the network, I logged in, and had to "log-in" to the network, the only thing it said was the SSID and PW I already knew and 2 buttons, one was to print all the info and the other one to proceed and "activate" the internet. Tried all the possible combinations of admin : password after factory reset and no luck either, no I'm stuck with a SSID called "SureWest-f1" instead of the custom SSID I want. I remember once after a while (because I gave up and submitting a live chat here required a proof of purchase which I don't have because like I mentioned before, my ISP gave this to me) I remember attempting to factory reset it again like 4+ times, and only ONE of them allowed me to access the router info, I had like 3 options to choose, continue with net, configure settings, etc. (instead of the print thing screen I mentioned before) but amazingly unlucky me something happened and after settings everything I wanted, the save button or whatever it was simply didn't work, didn't have connection anymore, had to factory reset again and since then I haven't ever been able to access my router settings apart from that lucky try. (Not exactly sure WHAT I did that one time, maybe I held the factory reset button longer? Who knows..) I'd really like to access my router settings to change SSID how I want, custom password, and doing some port-forwarding. Please any help is appreciated, my ISP just won't help me, they're limiting me what to do with my OWN router.Solved*BUG* 2.6.1.16 SSID Name Character Limit Change
Count me in as one of the folks whose system was auto updated from firmware 2.0.0.74 to 2.1.1.16. I'm also experiencing from the various other issues reported, but wanted to touch upon this particular issue concerning the wireless SSID character limitation/display issue I'm experiencing. Prior to the firmware upgrade to 2.1.1.16, I had a 17 character SSID brodcast name. After the firmware upgrade, my SSID name was chopped down to only 15 characters (last 2 characters were dropped off). It took me a bit of troubleshooting to figure out why my wireless devices were not connecting to my known network, and that’s when I discovered the discrepancy in SSID name. Oddly enough, I was able to go into GUI and re-apply my original 17 character SSID name, and my devices were able to re-connect as expected. However, the GUI SSID Name textbox is still only displaying the first 15 characters, despite the system broadcasting the 17 character name. This sounds like a simple character length/display coding issue that was introduced in this version that will hopefully be trivial enough to correct. I would appreciate if others could duplicate this issue and acknowledgment from the Netgear Support/Dev team that this is an issue they will investigate. Equipment: RBK50 in Router Mode 1 x Orbi Router (RBR50) 1 x Orbi Satellite (RBS50)PS4 Pro Wont Connect to the 5GHz Signal
So I just recently purchased the Orbi RBK40 router and I noticed you cannot separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi signals through normal methods. I was told that the router has a system or program that automatically pushes the best connection possible. All the devices that support a 5GHz connection seem to connect just fine. However, there are two PS4 Pros in the house and the router refuse to connect it to the 5GHz conncetion. Under my network settings on both PS4 Pro say they are on a 2.4 GHz conncetion. Even under the router GUI it says that it's connected to the 2.4 GHz conncetion. I've been trying to look up methods on how to connect it mannually but no luck. I found a post that teaches how to separate the SSIDs for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz and it worked, however the devices that were connceting to the 5GHz were experincing lag issues and would not have a consistent download rate. I usually average between 145-150 Mbps download when I don't split the SSIDs. However, when they are separate SSIDs, the download ranges from 6-130 Mbps and is never consistent. Not to mention, when the SSIDs are split, the PS4s seems to disconnect from the router frequently. Long story short, is there a way to connect the PS4 Pro to the 5GHz connection?
(sehr unzufrieden). Vielen Dank schonmal für die HilfeSolved2.6KViews0likes2CommentsOrbi: We really need separate SSID for 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz or speed is limited to less than 200 Mbps
TLDR: With Orbi, my 5Ghz capable devices are "forced" to connect to 2.4 Ghz most of the time, slowing down speed. Tested against 3 different routers and my 5Ghz capable can connect to 5Ghz network all the time. I got the 3-pack Orbi from Costco and after numerous testing, ALL my devices are connecting to 2.4 Ghz MOST of the TIME rather than 5 Ghz. This slows down the transfer speed from 800 Mbps to a paltry 145 Mbps. Unfortunately, since the Orbi does not allow separate SSID for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, I cannot "force" my device to connect only to 5Ghz to get better speed. This means that I have a $499 router system that mostly allow only 2.4 Ghz. I previously have a Time Capsule and setup 2 separate SSID: - devices capable of 5Ghz will ONLY connect to 5Ghz SSID (MacBook, iPhone, etc.) - devices capable of ONLY 2.4 Ghz will connect to 2.4Ghz SSID (thermostate, etc.) There was no changes on the setup or placement of my devices when I replace the Time Capsule with the Orbi: 1). Orbi is in the middle of apartment, same location as my Time Capsule 2). Laptops are in the same area as before (desk, room 1, etc.) 3). Other devices are in the same area as before (printer, camera, thermostat, etc.). 4). No new devices that can interference with Wifi signal The ONLY changes is the Orbi Router and Satellite and now all my 5Ghz capable devices are connecting to 2.4 Ghz with Orbi. I powered down Orbi, put my Time Capsule back and BAM!! I got 5Ghz connection again. For a separate testing, I bought the following: - Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 - ASUS RTC3200 Setup both to have separate SSID and BAM! 5Ghz devices can connect to ONLY 5Ghz network. I hope Orbi will change this in the new upgrade. Otherwise, I have no need for a $499 router that "force" 5Ghz devices to connect to 2.4 Ghz network.Have to manually connect to nearest satellite to control wireless music devices
I am using an OrbiRB50 with 2 satellites. There are approximately 12 music zones at my house (using Yamaha musicast, some over wifi, some plugged into satellites). The point of the system is to play synchronized music in multiple zones and to control volume etc from a single device (mainly an iPhone in my case). The network uses a single SSID and devices are connected to the closest satellite. The issue is that the phone often but not always will not see a connected device unless the phone is also connected to the same satellite. So for example to change the volume in a zone I will sometimes have to stand next to the device and disconnect and reconnect to wifi. The device then becomes viable but others sometimes disappear that are connected to other satellites What's going on here? Is there a setting to fix this?Unable to change all network names for my tri-band router
It started out with three default network names: NETGEAR95 NETGEAR95-5G-1 NETGEAR95-5G-2 The NETGEAR95 is for the 2.4. No matter what I do, there is no way for me to modify the name of NETGEAR95-5G-1. When I log on to the Netgear Genie via the desktop app or the mobile app when logged on to any one of the three networks, I am only able to modify the names of NETGEAR95 and NETGEAR95-5G-2. It is seriously annoying. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!Solved3.8KViews0likes5Comments
