Schedule

I really like the Access Control feature, which allows me to block access to internet for my childrens devices (selected by MAC address) during the night, while at the same time still allowing my wife and I to access internet. But, is there a way to have Access Control turn on/off automatically each evening? It seems that if you could just allow it to be connected with the existing Schedule feature this would be real simple to add. If this is not currently possible, can you PLEASE add this ability to the WNDR3400v3? Or is there a better way to do this?44KViews4likes3CommentsAdd Multiple Access Schedules
I am not sure how this is still NOT a fearure... Under Advanced>Security>Schedule, we should be able to setup multiple schedules for and it should even be per device. Currently, I can set only one schedule for all devices. This is very limiting compared to competing router options: D-Link, etc. I should be able to set MUTLIPLE access schedules on a per-device basis. For example, if I have two devices that I want to restrict when they can access the Internet, I should be able to state on device A it can access the Internet Sunday-Thursday from 4 pm - 10 pm and Friday-Saturday from 10 pm until 1 am. I should then be able to set a different schedule for device B, for example Sunday-Thursday from 6 pm - 11 pm and Friday-Saturday from 8 pm - 11 pm. How this feature wasn't implemented yesterday is beyond me???27KViews4likes16CommentsReadynas 3220 - What is recommended volume maintenance schedule (scrub, balance, defrag)
We recently got a new 12 drive Readynas 3220 loaded with (12) WD RE 4TB drives and are moving about 2 TB of data to it. The unit is currently on the 6.4.0 firmware but will be upgraded shortly. This will be the main file server for our architectural office so will be used for storage of Revit and AutoCAD files as well as the usual office type files. Given that we are donig more with Revit (large files) and more rederings we anticipate that the total amount of data will grow over time. I want to make sure that the unit is maintained properly to ensure a good long life without trouble. I've read in a post from several years ago that scrubbing was only recommended a couple of times a year but did not see specific recommendations for defrag and balancing. What is the currently recommended schedules for scrubs, defrags, and balancing for this unit in our type of use? Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise.Solved4.1KViews0likes2CommentsTurn off wireless schedule not working as intended
Not sure if its because of the new firmware, but i am not getting the "turn off wirless by schedule" working as intended. Say for example i set period start 9am to 6pm. The wifi signal would go off in 8:30am and when its over 6pm. The wifi do not turn on itself. I have to login to admin page and found that the "enable wireless radio" box was unchecked. To turn the wifi signal back, i have to check the box and apply the setting. This have been going on since day 3 i ever use this feature and it does not make sense. Any one else have this issue? I have fed up and switch back to the normal settings without using this feature. Will monitor my connection these few days and will update. One thing i do notice though, the new firmware has been causing disconnect issue even worse. Not sure if this is the cause. But seems every roll out of new update, the router connection becomes unstable. How do we block auto update of the firmware?6.4.0 102 - No scheduled power on.
My 102 powers down and up on a schedule, this has been the case without issue for a long time. Since upgradig to 6.4.0 (from 6.2.5) it no longer comes up correctly. I find the power light flashing and the NAS is uncontactable. If I pull the power and then reapply power and press the power on button the NAS comes up OK. Thus has happened every morning since the upgrade. The upgrade itself seemed to go OK ad the NAS came up OK after the upgade reboot. As far as I can see nothingis written to any logs at the failed auto power ons. Suggestions?2.9KViews0likes7Comments
