25 TopicsHow I activated my LTE Modem on Verizon
I am sharing this in case it is helpful to someone else who wants to use one of the NETGEAR LTE Modems (LB1120, LB1121, LB2120) on Verizon. Using the online ordering system, Verizon will not recognize the NETGEAR device ids (IMEI #s) as valid devices. From other posts I found on the internet, many people suggested activating the SIM card in another device and then moving the SIM to the LTE Modem. I did not have any unregistered devices handy, so I needed to find another solution. Knowing just enough to be dangerous, I realized that the IMEI contains manufacturer, model and serial number data that Verizon must be validating, and they have not added the NETGEAR LTE Modems for some reason. I found an IMEI online for a supported LTE device and mangled the serial number portion until it worked for me. Verizon allowed me to complete the order process, assigned me a number and accepted the connection from the LTE Modem. (I am still having an SMS issue, reported in another post, that may or may not be related to how I activated the SIM.) I found an IMEI for a Verizon MiFi device online that was: 99000329xxxxxxy Using the website IMEI.INFO this serial number breaks down as: Model: MIFI 4510L Brand: NOVATEL IMEI: TAC (Type Allocation Code)........: 990003 FAC (Final Assembly Code, aka Mfg): 29 SNR (Serial NumbeR)...............: xxxxxx CD (calculated Luhn CheckDigit)..: y I replaced the xxxxxx with more or less random digits and then figured out the checkdigit. You can use math or a tool to calculate the checkdigit, but the tool at IMEI.INFO uses Javascript validation for the checkdigit, so it is maybe faster to try the digits 0..9 to find the one that passes validation. Btw, my local Verizon store gave me a few SIM cards no questions asked. As part of the online order process, you have to enter the SIM card number after you get past the device id validation. Hopefully this information and approach will be helpful for some of you.Nighthawk M5 MR5100-1Z1MES useless In Middle East

Hi All, I am experieincing a double NAT condition with my Nighthawk M1 in IP pass through mode as described in this post: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/Nighthawk-M1-MR1100-Nighthawk-R8500-Double-NAT/td-p/1301385 . The solution in that case was to disable the router / NAT / firewall features on the R8500, let the M1 handle this and set up some bi-directional port forwards. In my case I would not like to do this as I want to use the features of the DD-WRT router I have the M1 connected to purley with the intent of using it as a modem. Is there any way that I can disable the NAT and all routing features on the M1 and let them be handled by DD-WRT router? If that is not supported now will it be supportted at some stage in a future firmware release? Thanks, Mike.Mr1100 reboot constant
Has Netgear ever actually found a solution to the constant reboot on mr1100 unit? I have tried multiple solutions on this page and all over Google yet nothing. I have some major issues with two at&t hotspots. One set up for T-Mobile and one for at&t. I am sure you have heard this before but both hotspot continuously reboot(sometimes when you use the top button, or checking internet speed test on a device or connecting to devices), disconnects for no reason, won't reconnect, have to punch in password everytime I connect with them, ethernet port don't seem to always work, when they go on black screen they seem to loose connectivity. All in all both are almost useless. I have tried all kinds of things I have read online but to no avail. I had to remove the batteries because the hotspots kept freezing with them in there. MR1100-1A1NAS hotspot 1 use T-Mobile with this one MR1100-2A1NAS hotspot 2 use at&t with this one. Both hotspots same issue. Firmware NTG9X50C_12.05.05.00 Batteries P/N 308-10034-01LB2120 - Both nics on the same network
Hi all, Is it possible to have the LAN and WAN side of the LB2120 on the same network? I would only like certain devices to be able to use the LTE backup and to control this by having to set the default gateway to either the Google Wifi router or LB2120. The LB2120 should forward traffic to the Google WiFi router if the broadband is up and out via the LTE if it it down. Diagram below. Thanks!netgear Nighthawk M1 How do I stop my neighours accessing my router?
I'm in the house alone, none of my other devices on and the router signal tells me there are 2 devices connected. My data use is madly dropping and my work drops in/out as the 2nd user adds themself. how do i block them? My laptop settings are set to dont appear to others. And when we try to find the router ourselves with our other devices we can't see it. So how do I stop this 2nd unknown uninvited "device connected"?
