I have a netgear router DGND4000 connected to a PL1000. This powerline is connected to a PLW1000 in my room and to a XWN5001 in my father office. They both works greate but the problem is that they won't work with each other. They are like two separated network. From my computer i can't see the printer in my father office and my father from his office can't access my plex server. On the other end if I am connected to the router i can see both networks. ROUTER to powerline PL1000 PL1000 to PLW1000 PL1000 to XWN5001 I am sure that they can work togheter since it was working just fine till last summer but for some reason I can't do it anymore. I don't know if I have to change some setting on the router or on the powerlines. Thank you.945Views0likes1CommentPowerline 1200 Adapter Problem
Hello, I recently purchased the Powerline 1200 adapters for my home to not have a 20 meter cable going trhough my house. network coverage . I have one adapater downstairs attached directly to a router, while the other one is located upstairs. I see the following problems with each of the adapters: The Powerline LED (bottomost indicator) continiously switches from green to red. Even less frequently, the adapter stops working entirely and the Powerline LED goes solid red. The only way I can resolve this is by unplugging the unit and plugging it back in (which works immediately). The above problems occur regardless of which adapter I'm using or which power outlet I plug them into. Both adapters are plugged directly into walls (no power strips or the like). I am using the security feature on them. Does this likely mean that my power lines are simply too noisy for this product to work adequately? Are there any other simple troubleshooting steps I might try before abandoning them? Note: They were working fine for like 50 mins, then I went out came back and they just now do as above?5.1KViews0likes3CommentsPLW1000 LAN access
Hi ! I bought and successfully installed a PLW1000 to extend my network with PLC. I understood later that it's not a repeater or an extender. The basic use is working fine. However, I'm trying to set up a peculiar LAN architecture and get stucked because devices on my main LAN can't communicate with the ones connected on the PLW1000. It seems that the PLW1000 creates its own LAN. I'm opened to any technicity level and type of solution (UNIX command line configuration is not a problem), but of course I'd rather avoid open internet access to my devices. Is there any possibility configure some gate to make my devices (NFSs, media centers...) talk to each others ? Thanks in advance for your attention !4.3KViews0likes3CommentsNew router and suddenly my powerline AV500 won't connect
I had to update my Virgin Media super hub to the new 3. That in itself has been a VM nightmare, however I think I did it! However my booster isn't getting internet. It is showing up, I changed the password (had to as the new 3 requires an extra digit) and I have unplugged and plugged it back in - turned the router on and off. I am not a technical whizz (I am over 50) please can someone help. I use it to boost my signal via wifi downstairs. Thank you Luddite2.9KViews0likes4CommentsNetcomm 500Mbps powerline adapter with Netgear d6300 and shared windows 10 folders
Hey guys, I got a weird problem, I've been searching everywhere for a solution. Maybe someone a lot smarter than me can help me out.. I got a computer that is running windows 10 in the study that is connected directly to a netgear d6300. When I'm in the lounge room, the wifi signal was quite poor so I bought a netcomm 500 mbps powerline. Which I plug my android media player. When I access the wifi/powerline I can access my shared folder from the windows 10 computer fine. But when I'm on the other end of the house and connect to the routers wifi on my phone or laptop. I can't access it unless I unplug the powerline adapter or connect thru the powerline adapter wifi I guess the main question is, shouldn't I be able to access my shared folders from any of devices regardless going thru the powerline adapter or routers wifi? Looking forward for any responses. Thanks3.5KViews0likes1Comment
