Prosafe utility cannot find GS 116 and config utility does nothing.
Good day. I have a ProSafe Gigabit GS-116 V2 switch. It seems to be working fine however I have a NAS attached that is so slow I could walk to Alaska before files transfer. Connect speed terrible. In the Buffalo forums it was suggested to check the network switch to be sure it was configured correctly. I have never even used the utilities as the switch has always worked out of the box with no problem. I am not claiming the switch is at fault but what does seem to be switch related is the failure of the Netgear utilties to work. The windows discovery too cannot find the switch. The ProSafe configuration utility when started appears in task manager but there is nothing at all on the desktop to do anything. With the config utility running this is what is active in processes: NetGearServer.exe NsdpClient.exe NsdpManager.exe ProSAFE Plus Utility.exe But nothing is doing anything at all? Windows 7 Pro. Hi, I have a GS108P unmanaged switch and was looking through the documentation. I noticed that there is a network diagram in the documentation that shows the switch can support 2 Vlan. Setup/Problem 2nd paragraph (Short question what URL do I use to download drivers/bios or software for gs108v3 Win10x64 ProSAFE Plus Configuration Utility v2.4.9 not discovering switch) I have a Prosafe GS108v3. It has mostly been sitting unattended & forgotten about. My computer/internet have worked flawlessly for 2-3 years. Ive checked bios, drivers and integrity of every piece of hardware on my Win x 10 Build 1709 Rig/computer. I've reinstalled Win 10 2 weeks ago. It is 100% functional. The only thing I have not tested is this GS108v3. My boyfriend and I smoke, though he isn't here a lot. It has sat in a typical room on a standard computer, I want to check it (Does it have BIOS/Drivers?) Can I update it? Is there a general program to "test" it? I do not know much about it. My ATT Uverse (Arris Router/Modem) & a few other things are hoooked into it. So it sits in the middle of my computer and Arris router. I bought a new Arris router 6 days ago, it is 100% functional Problem: WINMTR/Traceroute and other programs say I "am losing data"/getting errors (My side, not ISP). I just want to do general maintance to my Gs108. It has been 3 years since I've touched it. I am unsure which programs to download (drivers, bios or tests). I am confused which program(s)/sofrware to download. I just want quick troubleshooting on this before buying a new one. TY! My network is as follows R1 a router modem Netgear D6200 connected to adsl SW1 switch GS608v3 attached to R1 SW2 switch GS108v3 attached to SW1 SW3 switch GS605v3 attached to SW1 The principal PC is attached to SW2 I have a problem of degrade in the net and so I downloaded the ProSAFE Plus Configuration Utility in order to control the firmware version and the configuration of SW2 (the I will do for the others) The tool is not discovering any switch on the network I tried to deactivate the firewall on the PC but it was the same On the back of the switch there is no MAC and no ping detectes othyer than the router and pc The monitor of the router shows no devices attached other than the PC It seems that the switches are completely transparent The Prosafe Plus was downloaded in the support page for the switch and the new firmware as well, but how can I manege the switch (and perhaps to upgrade the firmware) if it is not recognized by the software? Furthermore ... I looked for the RESET button as shown on the specs picture .... but in the position (on the right front ) there is a label with AUTO UPLINK apparently the device is not resettable thanks for the kind answersSolved4.8KViews0likes3CommentsGS308P PTP LAG
Hi guys, recently I bought a GS308P unmanaged switch for data collecting system. However, it is found that the lag between two devices is larger than another Linksys smart switch. In this case, the data collecting system shows "Synchonization Error". If I change the PTP subdomain, it can work for a while. But it ends with the same error. I check the lag, it reaches around 10000ns for GS308P while it is only around 20ns for Linksys switch.
