We have an N450 (on the side it also says CG300Dv2) Our gateway software must have auto updated to Netgear Genie. All the sudden we see BRCM-LVG appearin gin our network. In Netgear Genie ReadyShare it shows it as a possible USB device. Is that what it is? Should I disable it from Network Connection, HTTP and FTP? Thanks for some answers.Solved25KViews0likes2CommentsNETGEAR A6210 WiFi USB3.0 Adapter Connection Speed Still 54Mb/s Argggh!
I have installed software version 1.0.0.36 as recommended on this forum, I have set the USB Speed to 3.0 in the Advanced tab, I have disabled the NetgearUSBSwitch process from Start-up, and probably a few other things too which escape me at this hour, but I still only get a slow 54Mb/s connection speed. After the installation of the software v1.0.0.36 the connection speed did go up to 144Mb/s and all was good, but the next start up of my PC and all back as it was. Any suggestion would be gratefully received as I'm just about to purchase another manufacturers Wi-Fi Adapter. Thanks in advance.Solved11KViews0likes5CommentsRouter doesnt recognize external USB hard drive
I want to connect my Apple TV 4, to a USB hard drive attached to my Orbi. The physical connection is fine but getting the Apple TV to recognise it is another challenge. I had it working brilliantly with my Airport Extreme, however getting the Apple TV apps, FileBrowserTV, VLC or MrMC to work seems impossible. If anyone has found a solution I'd be grateful to hear.SolvedReadyShare vault doesn't recognise USB drive
I've bought a new R7000 and hooked up a Samsung M3 (2TB) USB drive. The router recognises the drive perfectly and works fine for accessing files through e.g. Windows Explorer. But, Ready Share Vault does not recognise my backup drive and says "No ReadySHARE device detected". I've also tried another Samsung drive (1TB), but it also wasn't recognised. After reading all related posts, I'm unable to get the drive recognised. Please help.Solved9.2KViews0likes6CommentsSync to USB drive instead of clear and full backup
Is there a way to sync a folder on the ReadyNAS to an USB drive instead of having it cleared and fully backuped? I have a large share on the NAS and a 2 TB USB drive attached. On this share new files will often be created and old deleted and this will quickly fill the USB drive when using incremental backups. Clearing the whole backup and then copying over 1 TB of files which were already there doesn't seem like a great idea. I've found a workaroud here: How to sync NAS and USB drive , but maybe there is a cleaner way of doing it in the current firmware?SolvedArchive to USB Attached Blu-Ray Burner
All - Now we have 128GB write-once blu-ray discs and burners in the market (BDXL, BD-R 3.0) I am thinking this could be a good long term archive solution for the ReadyNAS. But I've search the forum and elsewhere and not seen anyone reporting success archiving content from a ReadyNAS to USB 3.0 attached blu-ray burner. Anyone care to share their experience? What drivers on the ReadyNAS required to do the burning? Any limitations? Is Shell Access required or is there a plug-in for a user friendly UI? What burner hardware worked for you?6.8KViews0likes7CommentsWNDA3100V3 BSOD Security Check Error with disconnect and reconnects
Every time my Netgear WNDA3100V3 USB WIFI adapter disconnects and then reconnects to the internet, my computer shuts down and displays the BSOD (blue screen of death) that says the stop code. "Kernel Security Check Error" and tells me to go to windows.com/stopcode and find an answer? Well I have uninstalled and reinstalled and made sure my computer and the adapter are updated. Nothing works. This happens many times a day! I saw that someone previously had a similar, if not the same issue. Their write-up is as follows: " Just setting up Plex on my R9000, connected USB 3 thumbdrive (32GB), and usin g my NAS as storage for my movies. But no image/poster is beeing downloaded, all movies are just grey boxes. Info and so on working fine, but only images not working. Is there a solution for this, working fine when I used my NAS as mediaplayer." In my issue, I have a server set up on my laptop that interfaces with my NAS just fine. However, my laptop is not ideal for streaming movies for several reasons (one being that my PS4 Pro and the router both use 5G and my laptop does not. But I digress) Anyway, I got the new firmware update that allows you to set up a Plex server on the router that uses an NAS. I purchased a 128G Samsung USB3.0 thumb drive, plugged it into the router and opened the Plex server. I added multiple directories into multiple libraries, but the server will only detect movies in one library. Also, in that library, media is matched and the info is working, but the artwork is not present (nor can I add artwork with the upload custom artwork function.) This issue is marked solved on a previous thread, with the solution being listed as: "Solution is formatting to "OS X Extended (Journaled)", not working with FAT32 or EXFAT." I have no idea what that means. Reformat the NAS? (I definitely won't be deleting 12tb of media for a reformat.) Or is it talking about reformatting the USB? If so, how would I go about that? I am very confused and frustrated with this whole process.Solved6.2KViews0likes6CommentsNighthawk r7300 doesn't recognize external hard drive
Hi all - (I searched for this in the community but didn't quite find the solution. If I've missed it please post a link & sorry for the trouble!) I run a small home office and recently bought a Netgear router after a blackout toasted my Airport Time Capsule (we're all Mac here). I then purchased a WD My Book for Mac 3T external hard drive, but it wasn't recognized when I connected it to the router. Found out that it's the ONE drive that's listed as incompatible on the Netgear site (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18985/~/readyshare-usb-drives-compatibility-list?cid=wmt_netgear_organic). I sucked it up and am just randomly connecting it to our computers and running time machine when I have the time. However I just found a reason to purchase a second external hard drive. I figured this time I would go to the list & select one that would connect via the router, so we could back up everything regularly again. I bought the Seagate Backup Plus 5T Desktop, Model #STDT5000100. Again, it is not recognized. I went through the ReadyCLOUD process, registered the router, but it still doesn't "see" the drive. What am I missing here? I really don't need a NAS - I don't think. And I can't believe that I just happened to buy another uncompatible device. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help / guidance you can provide!Solved5.7KViews0likes6Comments
