12 TopicsRequest for Advanced Driver Options for AXE3000 (A8000) WiFi Adapter
Hi Netgear Team, I'm currently using the AXE3000 (A8000) WiFi 6E USB adapter and would like to request that future driver updates include more advanced configuration options—similar to those offered by some other vendors. The features I’d love to see include: The ability to select individual wireless standards (e.g., a/b/g/n/ac/ax) A toggle for “Fat Channel Intolerant” to manage channel bonding Transmit power control The option to completely disable specific bands (e.g., fully disable 2.4GHz) Human Presence Detection (if supported by hardware) Improved handling and access to Ultra High Band (UHB) features in the 6GHz spectrum These advanced settings are especially valuable for users needing granular control over their wireless setup—whether for minimizing interference in crowded RF environments or for precise testing and optimization. For reference, I’ve attached a screenshot showing the advanced driver options provided by TP-Link for a $70 adapter. This shows the level of control that’s possible and expected at this price point. Is there any possibility these features could be considered for future updates? Thank you for your time and consideration!CU-Ball
I'm a Conceptual Designer and have been working on a full range of integrated products for Home Networking Systems that may be of great interest to NETGEAR & Major Cable Providers. This system greatly reduces ‘back of TV wiring’, support calls and DIY install time and frustration. The current range of products include: Power Supply Cable Modem Set Top Box WiFi 7 Router DVR - eSata Battery Backup - UPS (Dependent on capacity, this maybe simply a battery backed alarm and status module, optionally wired to a hidden larger, 3rd party unit.) Blu-Ray DVD Streaming Box Connected Speakers Bluetooth Speakers Home Automation (Displays on TV). Home Security Service (Displays on TV) Jump Drive Interface Voice Remote Control Charging Station Smartphone / App Integration Totally new design concept. There is a long term upgrade path that ensures that new technology can be incorporated for years to come. There is a backward compatibility that allows mix and matching with legacy products There are two physical variations at price points that allow for marketing differentiation. (Perhaps Branded Elite and White Box OEM) The questions are: What am I missing? What is the best approach to pitch this range ? 1/ NETGEAR 2/ Charter / Comcast etc... as they may provide the basic units on subscription? 3/ Other.. Please specify. As this range is pre-patent, more in depth discussions maybe subject to NDA.456Views0likes0CommentsWiFi Connectivity in Driving School
In today's digital age, driving schools are increasingly relying on technology to enhance their services and operations. One crucial aspect is establishing reliable and efficient connectivity to support various online platforms, communication systems, and administrative tasks. Netgear.com offers a range of networking solutions that can be leveraged by driving schools to streamline their operations and improve the overall learning experience for students.187Views0likes0CommentsSuggeastion for next iteration of MR80 mesh system
Its not in the above list, but the next iteration of the MR80 mesh system should include a 2.5Gbps port for interface with the multigig nighthawk cable modem, eh? I've already run SFTP CAT6A & added a 2.5Gbps switch. The leap from 1Gbit to 2.5 and beyond in residential products is way overdue, ISPs will be offering 2Gbps+ before most people can even use it.453Views0likes4Comments4G/5G back up internet dongle
Wondering If Netgear will ever provide a update or piece of hardware that plugs into the usb ports for 4G/5G dongles to work as a back up internet solution for when a main provider goes down. A lot of isp's in the UK are offering this at the minute and there routers are nowhere near the cost or specs of a Netgear router surely this would be great bonus and pull people away from isp routers169Views0likes0CommentsProper Netgear linux drivers for the whole portfolio
I guess I'm atypical of users worldwide (ref Count of Windows v Count of LINUX Users Worldwide). I have 2 Windows boxes and 2 LINUX boxes. I have each W box for 1 app each - my MKIV SUPRA aftermarket EMS on the W laptop and for Photoshop in my W Desktop. Everything else is done via Linux Mint on two laptops because MS insists that my W machines are theirs not mine so I can't startup the w 10 machine w/o getting an update that forces me to wait an interminable period while the update that was loaded under my radar (during my previous sesion) completes installation and then I have to reinstall my Netgear software so I can get back on the intrnet this session. I sure wish Netgear would hookup with the major flavors of LINUX and provide drivers to the automated software repositories. Thanks! Netgear should develop some add-in capabilities to their already developed router firmware. It would be a relatively easy task for the core developers. Signal detection is already there, the analysis of data transmission--including pinging functions--is already there, and the basic interface platform for most operating systems is already there. What more do they need except for a few graphic functions, i.e., radar representations, real-time speed graphics, etc.? The main enhancement that I would like to see is the ability to use my wireless router as a device that can 'see' other wifi's that are operating within signal range. Signal strength, estimated distance to a radio emitter, and a few other information categories would make the use of my wifi router feel a little more secure, rather than operating it blindly from a stable location. I could add a USB wireless adapter, or use an android type device to get the same information, but wouldn't it be nice if my Netgear wireless router could see what a $29 wireless tablet can see? As a business proposition, the added capabilities could provide a far-greater return via marketplace competitiveness through sales than the relatively minor costs associated with the development of firmware code.2KViews0likes0CommentsKK Nayak Cairn India Business Development, Project Management (Operations)
