Wifi extender
12 TopicsI can't connect to the wifi extender on my iPad or PC but every other device works.
Yesterday my connection to my EXT6100 AC750v2 just cut out on both my iPad and PC at the same time with no warning. I checked the extender and it was still plugged in and both of the green lights were on (one signifying a connection to the router and the other a connection to a device). Every time I entered the password on my iPad for the extender to reconnect, the prompt would just disappear and then reappear as if I didn't do anything. My PC will also just fail to connect to the network. I have tried restarting the extender, restarting the modem, rebooting both devices, re-syncing WPS on the extender and the modem and I end up with the same result, only now the light to signify a connection to the device just isn't on. ALL other devices in the house can connect to the extender with no issues. The firmware is up to date (version 1.0.0.50 I believe?) and I'm currently trying to find an ethernet cable for a direct connection to the extender to see if that helps. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ThanksSolvedCan I use Orbi and a wifi extender in the same house?
Hello, I am using an Orbi system with 3 satellites right now. I have a cat5 run from the orbi wireless router to my gameroom I would like to leverage as well. Is it possible to use a cabled wifi extender or a switch in conjunction with the orbi system? If i get an extender that can plug directly into the orbi wireless router that has ports to plug my system directly into, will this mess up my wireless network somehow (like confusing laptops which network to log into)?Cant change wifi speed on Range Extender N300 from 145mbps to 300mbps?
The main wifi-router and the wifi-modem are both on the living room, next too each other and they are 10-15 meters from the wifi-extender. My room which contains a PS4, laptop and an iPhone 6, are 3-4 meters from the wifi extender. I've had my Netgear Wifi Router Extender N300 for a year now and it has never been this slow. It started two weeks ago when I was playing GTA Online on my PS4 and I had the worst connection ever. The whole game was lagging, on online and all other online games were also lagging on my PS4. I had this problem for 3 days so i decided to restart my extender. But that didn't fix the issue. All my online games on the PS4 were still lagging like and the internet was also slow on my iPhone 6 and my laptop. The coonection was ****! So i decided to reset the whole extender to factory settings and after I went through the installation process the internet was up and running but still a little bit slower than normally. I opened the wifi extender settings and saw that the wifi speed was set to 145mbps but it should be set on 300mbps... BUT I CANT CHANGE IT TO 300MBPS CAUSE THE BUTTON IS STUCK/UNCHANGEABLE??? IT WONT LET ME CHANGE IT TO 300MBPS???Solved11KViews0likes2CommentsI have moved and my WIFI extender seems to remember old network
Hi everyone, I have the WIFI extender and had it working at my old place. I recently moved into a new home and have tried using the WIFI extender for the new network and am finding it is still labelled as the old network in my list of networks to connect to on my laptop. I have tried resetting to factory settings which has not worked. I have also tried using the WPS button to connect to this new network (and pressing the button on the router) and the green light will flash for a minute or so, turn solid green and then when I search for the network it still is the old one. Trying to connect to this old network it says there is no internet connection. Does anyone know what I can do?7.9KViews0likes1CommentNeed a wifi extender capable of DLNA
I'd like to find a wifi extender to replace an existing router (upstairs) configured as a repeater bridge for my ISP's router (downstairs). The existing repeater is either buggy or somehow not compatible with DLNA because DLNA broadcasting doesn't seem to work (ie, my DLNA server, hard-wired to my ISP's router, cannot see my smart Tv which should be broadcasting as a DLNA renderer). I've read that repeaters or extenders do need to create a "bridge" that is compatible. I'm considering the Netgear EX6200 as it appears to have what I need but it's difficult to research the issues around DLNA. The replacement also needs to replace the functionality of the existing repeater, which serves upstairs computers for Internet access and as a gigabyte hub for computers and a NAS. The EX6200’s installation instructions also state that it should have line of sight access to the primary router, which would be a problem for me and which needs to be evaluated. Any insight into Netgear products as they might pertain to my needs would be extremely appreciated. Cost is an issue but I'd much rather purchase the correct hardware than waste my time.4.7KViews0likes3CommentsSecure wifi on WNDR3400 v.2 Router but no security showing for extender.
I've connected a wireless extender to my WNDR3400 v.2 router. The router has WPA-(SK)?security but my phone shows the extender ( "N1") has"none" i.e., no security. How do I set up security for the extender,( assuming I need i)?Solved4.4KViews0likes4CommentsNetgear WN3000RP blocks port forwarding
External (Internet) access to a WiFi IPCamera using port forwarding through Cisco router works fine Changing the WiFI IPcamera's SSID choice to the extended network of the WN3000RP works fine from devices on the Cisco router's network BUT external (Internet) access fails. The IPcamera has a fixed IP. The Cisco router has reserved that IP. Only difference is the IP camera's choice of SSID. Switching the IPCamer's choice of SSID from the extender back to the router restores external(Internet) access. Conclusion: The WN3000RP/IPcamera is not working properly with the router's portforwarding. IS ther something in the WN3000RP that needs to be changed?Set?4.4KViews0likes1CommentNetgear Wifi booster and iPhone hate each other
I have a Netgear cable router C6300bd in the middle of the home and a Netgear wifi extender EX6150 at the back of the house. The extender is set up in "FastLane mode" - 5ghz connection from main router to booster; then the booster broadcasts a 2.4ghz connection to devices in the back of the house. The setup works well - my Macbook and PS4 are connected to the wifi extender fine, no problems. My iPhone 6 connects to the wifi extender OK. But notifications are delayed. And if I open Facebook messenger, it takes up to 20-30 seconds to connect. I've also had issues checking for new emails which takes forever. Sometimes it shows the "4G" symbol instead of the Wifi connected symbol. The unreliability has forced me to use cellular data on the phone or try and connect it to the main router (with a very weak wifi signal). It just doesn't make sense - because the Macbook and PS4 run exceptionally well I read somewhere that disabling QoS/WMM might fix the issue - but I can't see how to do this for the wifi extender ? Do I need to forward ports ? Are there settings on the C6300 that I need to change ? Any ideas ? iPhone 6 running iOS 10.1.12.2KViews0likes2CommentsPower line av500
