I just need someone to breakdown what I need to do to get an open NAT type. I'm playing on an Xbox One. My Nighthawk MR1100 feeds directly into my Xbox. Firmware is updated too. Also if you're going to ask me to do port forwarding please give a very detailed explanation of what I should do. Thank you very much, and have a good day.RV WIFI
We work on the road living at rv parks. Rv Wi-Fi sucks! We bought the nighthawk r7000 and use it as an access point, connected straight into the rv park internet modem (parked right up against the utility pole ;) my question is what is a good setup? We run 2 Xbox One for gaming it is set to ipv4 I can't change that due to the parks modem I can't get into the setting to see if I can change that. I tried using as a router and I get a double nat issue. I have no clue what I'm doing. Ive read u habe to make sure the ap ip address is set to static but how do I do all this to ensure there is no interference. I am clueless! I wanna add, both Xbox play just fine every now n then one of us get booted or have Mic issues disconnecting. Nat setting on the Xbox is moderate I'd like to have that open but there isn't a way to change anything.SolvedLinking Xbox One Wired Connection NAT issues
Hello! I have a NETGEAR Genie R6400 wireless router. I have hooked up my Xbox One in the past when I first purchased this router and I had this same issue. When the Xbox is wired directly to the router with all current settings the NAT type on the console is strict and "behind a port-preserving port-symmetric NAT". When I had this issue about a year ago, I contacted Xbox support, who led me through a series of options. These options ended up with me setting a static IP for the console, forwarding a number of ports, turning off UPnP, disabling SIP ALG and setting it to "open NAT," and establishing a DMZ to my consoles static IP. These settings all fixed the issue I was having. However, recently my router was reset to factory settings by another family member and now these settings are not fixing the issue. I contacted Xbox support and they walked me through some steps but none were successful. I'm curious if I need to completely redo the process? All my previous settings were still present, such as my static IP and the DMZ. I had to re-forward all the ports but I just forwarded them to the previously saved static IP. Could this be the issue I'm having? Or are there other settings I should be looking at? What setting should be changed or needed to wire my Xbox One directly to the router so the NAT type is open and I'm getting the most out of my router for bandwidth and gaming. Any and all responses and help is appreciated, thank you.11KViews0likes7CommentsDuplicate ICMP replies from Xbox
Was trying to troubleshoot some network errors after my spouce had TWC "assist" with the cable modem. After sorting out the issues TWC caused (Side rant here: (reset the modem, disabled firewall, removed ip filtering, and turned on a DHCP service despite being a bridge modem, reset password to the default, and generally left everything wide open) I noticed that I was getting duplicate icmp from my XBox one. 64 bytes from 10.10.1.90: icmp_seq=418 ttl=128 time=4.973 ms 64 bytes from 10.10.1.90: icmp_seq=418 ttl=128 time=4.996 ms (DUP!) When I pull up more detail in wire shark I can see the replies as duplicates to the request. From my review of the details the only differences in the duplicate request is the message identification, which makes sense as it is a separate reply. More troubleshooting steps I have taken trying to isolate the issue: - Created XBox specifc port forwarding and then removed. - Cleared arp aches on all networked devices with tables - Removed all other devices from the network - Reset the Xbox - Changed dhcp ip reservation schemes - Turned UpNP on/off - Restarted all devices (had to say it) Am stumped. What am I missing?Solved7.7KViews0likes3CommentsC6300 NAT Settings
Hello All, My son is trying to use his XBOX App on his WIndows 10 Laptop and when he tries to join a party and chat with his brothers he gets an error saying his network setting won't allow this. My thought was I probably need to open the NAT settings. However, when I went to WAN setup there isn't any NAT filtering option to change. I think it's supposed to be by the "Disable SIP ALG" setting but I see nothing there. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Pakled5.2KViews0likes1Comment
