Hello, Here is what I am trying to accomplish. Building A - 192.168.0.x Building B - 192.168.1.x I have a ubiquiti wifi antenna that is connecting both buildings for the SOLE purpose of building B, accessing building A's NAS Drive, 192.168.0.10 I have been told a bunch of how to scenarios, but i cant get it working right as in segmenting each network separate so both DHCP servers do not conflict. I want both networks to remain independant, only a handful of PC's at building B to access the Nas Drive at building A. (A VPN was not able to accomplish this fast enough, even with Gigabit Internet, SMD doesn't like VPN's). So i was told on the srx5308 to plug one of the antenna's into one of the Quad WAN Ports, lets say Wan2.. Give it a /29 IP Address. Then do the same on the other building (which has a non-netgear firewall).. but for now lets concentrate on the setup in building B with the Srx5308. This is what i was told: On the SRX5308 plug the bridge into one of the spare WAN ports and assign a small subnet (e.g. 172.16.10.1/29). Page 127 of the manual tells you how to setup static routes. Problem is, the srx5308 won't let me do this unless i put in a gateway and dns servers on the Wan2 port as far as i can tell. Also do i turn on DHCP on that /29 range or leave it solo and static the IPs in it.. Fwiw, i had this working buy just plugging everything in and using IP ALias's on the windows machines, but the dhcp servers on both ends could obviously not coexist.. I need to keep the network separate but have this one tunnel to get to that nas drive thru the antenna connection (the buildings are approx 900 ft away, the antennas work very very well). Appreciate any assistance.Solved159Views0likes24CommentsWAC104 used as a bridge disconnects
I have a pair of WAC104 Wireless Access Points providing a 5GHz bridge from my VDSL modem to my office in another part of our apartment. Working well, getting 90MB/s. However the connection is lost at times and I've only been able to re-establish it by powering down both WAPs. Seems to happen once a day. Do they have some power-saving setting I can turn off? BTW tried to put WAC104 in the "model" field above but it gets rejected.Solved6KViews0likes8CommentsConnecting Seagate PersonalCloud to Orbi RBK30
Hi, I have a Seagate 3TB Personal Cloud that I'm trying to connect (wired, no wifi) to my Orbi router. However, it's not showing up on my network. VLAN/Bridge group is enabled due to my ISP's settings. Any ideas on how I can get the PersonalCloud device to connect? TIA.LB2120 Bridge mode, not passing dynamic IP to router
Hello, I am using the LB2120-100-UKS which i have just received from new and wanted to use the bridge mode with a TL-R470+ load balancing router. I am connecting ADSL via the TL-R470+ with no issues (PPPoE in UK). The LB2120 is working well in both router and bridge mode with a PC (direct connection, no routers or switches, PC just set to obtain address automatically). In router mode, i get an IP in the range of 192.168.5.x as i would expact. In bridge mode, i get the WAN IP which is shown in the mobile 4G status window from the LB2120, so i know the (W10) PC is picking up the dynamic 4G IP address. If i restart the modem, it may (not always) get a new IP and the PC picks this up no issues. When setting the WAN port i intend to use for 4G on my TL-R470+ to "dynamic" the poor thing just sits forever and tries to connect with no success at all, looks like it never receives an address. If i set the "Static" and i enter what i noted from a succesfull PC connection, then the TL-R470+ makes a sucesfull connection to the LB2120 and i get 4G internet. Whats more, the load balancing works, and i get the benefit of the ADSL (slow but unlimited) and the 4G (fast but limited). So i know the system works as i want however i cannot use a static WAN IP on my 4G connection. My carrier, EE, wont offer fixed IP address on the consumer data tariff i have, so every few hours, or after a reboot, i would need to manually find the new IP, default gateway & DNS and update the details on the TL router so it can connect. I can only imagine that the router is getting confused as it "sees" both the 192.168.5.1 of the router admin page and the WAN IP and it cannot pick which to settle onto. Or perhaps it only sees 192.168.5.1 and its waiting on an IP assignment. How can i get around this? Is it a fault with the TL-470+ router, or the LB2120. Posts on other LTE models suggest this issue has been known for some time with any router. I can get it to work with the LB2120 in router mode, and the TL470+ in dynamic (i would probably pick static outside the DHCP pool to avoid conflict) and it gets an IP in the 192.168.5.x range but then double NAT is probably not always a good idea. This does at least mean the LB2120 takes care of the 4G WAN IP by ittself and i dont need to worry about it. Any help would be apprecaited. Thanks, StuartNetgear Orbi RBK40 bridging in a Macbook
Hi all, I've a new Orbi RBK40 which is 3 months old but somehow not able to get phone support so I'm asking here. I've set up an Ethernet bridge in my Macbook (under settings, network, make a new bridge) and have connected my Internet router by Ethernet cable to the Macbook successfully. I now want to add the Orbi RBK40 to the Macbook via another Ethernet cable and get it connected to the bridge. Unfortunately the light shows purple and not white meaning it's not working as expected. Wifi from the Orbi doesn't work. Can the Orbi join a bridged network? If so how? I don't want to connect the router to the Orbi and Orbi to the Macbook. This was my old setup and setting it this way works fine. I'm trying to force the Orbi and router to be on the same subnet in the bridge I setup in the Macbook. Any suggestions? Thanks Cheers, KinSolvedCan the Nighthawk D7000 be put into Bridge Mode
Hi, My wired network is in a new location in my house away from the phone socket but all the wired devices are together in the same location. What I would like to do is position my Nighthawk next to the wired network to act as the router for the wired network devices. I would like to put my ISP router/modem next to the phone socket for the internet connection. My thinking is I could put the Nighthawk D7000 into bridge mode to act as a router only and wirelessly bridge to the ISP modem for the internet connection. There seems to be only an option to make the Nighthawk to act as modem/router or modem only but not as router only. Can some one advise if the D7000 can be used in this way? Thanks in advance. Hallo zusammen! Configure WNDR4300 as base and WNDR3700v3 as access point to create a bridge
I am trying to create a wireless bridge to connect ethernet components in one part of my home to the internet. The intenert connection comes through a cable modem connected to my wireless router WNDR4300. I want to re-purpose a WNDR3700v3 to bring the internet access to devices which do not have wireless capability (DVD Player and Roku) but have ethernet ports. I followed the instructions for each of the routers (different), but I must have missed or done something wrong, because it didn't work. Can someone help? Thanks. JuanSolvedBridge Nighthawk routers: x8 r8500 to x10 r9000
Hi all, I just bought an upgrade r9000 (x10) from my current r8500 (x8) router due to plex and 10gbe lan. The issue I'm having is that my router is at one end of the house, and prior I used eero routers in conjunction to reach all areas of my house, but the biggest problem here is that eero sucks at having simultaneous connections, especially playing video games on 3-4 pcs! So instead of getting rid of my r8500, I was hoping to get rid of my eero. I'm hoping to use my r8500 as a bridge in the middle of the house so it extends the reach to the end of the other side. I tried #1 rated av powerline 2000 and was getting extremely low speeds vs wifi, so that was returned since it didn't work. As a bridge, wouldn't this work since both are supposedly able to transfer fast speeds (especially within lan)? I tried looking at how to bridge these two together but couldn't find anything. Help and insight would be great! Thank you!Solved6.7KViews0likes2Comments
