Takes long to connect to Internet after restart and slow speed
Hi All, Lately i am experiencing slowness with internet speed with NETGEAR N600 (8x4) WiFi DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Router (C3700). I have 50MBPS connection from Comcast. I get around 2 MBps speed. Comcast customer care asked me restart the device. Every time i restart, this router takes 30-40 min to connect to Internet. Comcast told its issue with the router. After 40 min it works fine for 3-4 hr. Again i see slowness with internet speed. Comcast is not able to debug issue due to time it takes to reboot or reset. What can be the issue?Upgrade Netgear C3700 to newer model
Looking to upgrade my home network. I have a Netgear C3700 it has the 2 ethernet ports on the back. Run 1 port to my OOMA and the other to my Wireless Router. Are there any newer Cable Modems or suggestions out with the 2 Ethernet Ports? I was looking at the Netgear CM700, but it does not have the dual ethernet ports. Have C3700-100NAS, currently running firmware V2.02.08 upgraded thru Comcast xFinity ISP. Can normally connect to unit's embedded web interface both thru default IP 192.168.0.1 and URL http://routerlogin.net no problem...for about week after bootup. After running seemingly normally for few days to week or so, can no longer connect to web interface neither thru either 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz WiFi frequencies nor Ethernet cable -- LAN clients do still have good internet connection, so appears unit's cable modem WAN connection as well as router LAN connection are operating normally and only web interface has failed. When web interface fails, only solution is to power-cycle unit, which seems to restore ability to connect to web interface (for about another week) then web interface fails again. Any insight as to how to fix this problem would be appreciated.n600 c3700-100NAS: Q0S or not?
I use this for home office wifi, and it was purchased specifically to replace the cable company's modem that I had paying to lease (Spectrum, formerly Time Warner). Generally speaking, it has performed well. I use Verizon's 'wifi calling' feature with my Samsung Galaxy S7 so that my calls process via the much stronger wifi network vs. the weak Verizon network service in this area. But recently I've determined that text messages sent to me by others sometimes do not arrive on my phone, and it *only happens when phone is in range of my Netgear router*. (That is, text nondelivery only happens when I'm at the home office. We've tested text on premises with the router operating and then when it's been turned off, and we've witnessed texts not arriving *only* when my Netgear is broadcasting.) I've been told that my router's QoS setting may be a factor... apparently, QoS sets which channels get priority or whatnot? Even though this router is relatively new and I presumed it was a higher quality model with more than just a rudimentary feature set, I can find no QoS setting. Can someone either describe how to find/adjust this setting on my modem and/or describe a workround that will enable texts to reach me while I'm at the home office? (Verizon service is so spotty here that doing without the device's 'wifi calling' advantage isn't an option.)how is correct local system time set?
Have C3700-100NAS, currently running firmware V2.02.08 upgraded thru Comcast xFinity ISP. In troubleshooting still open issue with the embedded web interface failing after about week uptime (see separate posting: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Cable-Modems-Routers/embedded-web-interface-fails-after-week-runtime/m-p/1315907) noticed unit's local system time is off by one hour, guessing maybe due to daylight savings shift? Discussion with Comcast xFinity ISP tech support, they indicate their internet service feed does not set the local device system time, particularly if device is not rented unit with Comcast's xFinity-specific firmware. As far as can determine, embedded web interface does not provide user configuration for setting local system time -- how is correct local system time set?Can't connect to cable modem/router; Can't access router login
so... i've been searching around and trying ideas for three hours now. nothing. after a reset, my laptop can connect to the router AND use the internet via WiFi. i was able to use the "routerlogin.net" app once or twice to change my settings back to the way they were, yet no other device would connect and it would tell me the "modem is offline". consistantly, less said times, the router will reset, my laptop will connect with default router settings, my laptop will get internet, and i will get the message that i am not connected via WiFi when attempting to access "routerlogin.net". what the heck is going on here?Open/Close ports when I want
I'm trying to open/close ports when I want for testing purposes. I have the C3700 router. For example when I use http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and search for port 2000, it is closed. How do I open it? I tried in the settings, but no luck, hopefully someone can help me! :)Dynamic IP Address Not Being Assigned
Discussion Room: I have a Netgear N600 Wifi Cable Modem Router (Model# C3700). During setup I go to the Advanced Settings and proceed to "Internel Setup" to configure my Internal IP Address and after choosing "Get Dynamically from ISP" I then try to save my settings with clicking "Apply." However, the following occurs: 1. The "Get Dynacially from ISP" selection remain select; HOWEVER 2. The "Use Static Address" information gets populated with IP Address, IP Subnet Mask, and Gateway IP Address information. In addition, my machine maintains this same IP information and therefore I keep being assigned the same IP Address. 3. So the problem is that I can't get my router configured so that its choosing a randomly assigned IP Address. Help, what should I do and or what is the problem? Thanks, Elle
