7 Topicsmodem CMD31T not working with Wifi router or ooma
Our current Netgear cable modem CMD31T will not work when connected to a wifi router or ooma VOIP home phone service. The modem seems to only work when connected directly to the PC. I have tried different cables and but only shows flashing orange light, meaning no internet connection. Any help? Orbi was working fine with my comcast/xfinity service until this weekend. (Comcast modem/router was in bridge mode per instructions.) This weekend my internet service started acting up intermittently and yesterday it wasn't working at all. Tried power recycle several times, confirmed Xfinity modem was in bridge mode, had comcast cust service send modem reset, all to no avail. The Orbi was connecting to satellite and creating local network, but the web control panel (orbilogin.com) said no internet connection. Tried the troubleshooting through the web control panel but never succeeded. Spent over an hour working the issue with Comcast customer service and nothing was working - finally had them reset the cable modem/router to normal mode (not bridge mode) and gave up on the Orbi (powered them down). (In normal mode, the internet service is working and the WiFi coverage works in my house, but it is back to the pre-Orbi coverage and speed, so not as good.) Can anybody help??? Does this sound like a hardware problem with the Orbi? Other ideas/troubleshooting? I've exhausted my ideas as well as anything Comcast could do to help...Orbi and Cable Modem/Wifi Router
I'm interested in purchasing the Orbi System but have a couple of questions. My ISP provides a Modem/Wifi Router. I use it as a single gateway to hardwire devices and use the two bands, 5G and 2G for wireless signals. When using the Orbi system should the Wifi on the ISP Modem be disabled? If not disabled, will broadcasting the networks degrade signal for the Orbi. If I have multiple devices hardwired to the Modem is it best to hardwire into the Orbi vs the Modem/Wifi Router? Sorry a newbie a this so trying to learn which may be basics. ThanksNETGEAR AC1750 / C6300 wifi cable modem router LAN connectivity problems

I bought this unit less than 40 days ago, and now because my home business is not running well on vonnage, I need to switch to comcast voice which requires a new cable modem with a lesser capable wireless router. The question is can you use the AC1900 as a bridged wireless router?3.4KViews0likes1CommentMystery of two C6300 cable modem router with dual band wifi.
I have identical c6300 installed at 2 homes (not next door) with exactly the same setup and configuration. Both c6300 have same type and firmware level Dlink cameras connected using wifi. Wifi setting is 2.4Ghz, broadcast, auto channel selection, speed up to 450Mbps, wpa and wpa2 security selected. One c6300 connects with no problem what so ever. The other devices triy to connect to 2.4Ghz but will drop. I checked and confirmed as well as change passphrase. Devices that cannot connect include ipad 3&4, kindle hdx, win10 laptop with dual band n. Only device that can connect at both site ont the 2.4Ghz is a LG LGMS323 android phone. Comcast at both site. Let me know if I can provide you with additional details. Thanks3.3KViews0likes3Comments
