Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a retail purchased unit versus one that was purchased or acquired through a specific ISP? There are A LOT of these for sale on eBay, Craigslist, etc., and often times the sellers don't know that the router/modem will only work with the ISP that provided it. I know Xfinity, Cox and some others have Netgear make the routers to work exclusively with their encryption. Can you tell by the serial number? The MAC address? The unit itself? Please advise. On the front of the router the power, downstrem, upstream, and internet are all lite. The wireless botton lite is also lite. What could be the problem? However, the #2 and #3 LAN (ethernet) lights are flashing, what is the problem?2.7KViews0likes4Comments
