My neighbor and I share wifi using extenders and the main router is located in their home. I have an N300 connected to their NETGEAR R6300v2 2.4Ghz connection and the internet connection has become very slow and unstable. At one point it worked flawlessly. Something I noticed that is very odd is the device link light. All lights are green but the device link tends to turn amber and red when I use my iPhone 6 on the extender in the same room and the connection is slow and unstable. When I connect my 2013 MacBook Pro to the extender, the device link stays green but the connection is still slow. The extender is on channel 1 while the main router is on "auto". The main router has 6 devices attached. I've tried changing channels and updating firmware but the connection remains the same or gets worse. The main connection seems to work better when the extender is off. I've checked the NETGEAR Genie for the extender and it says everything is working properly. What could be the issue?4.1KViews0likes2CommentsExtending wifi doesn't work properly - EX6100
Hi all, I recently buy a Netgear wifi Extender - model EX6100 - to improve the range of my rent room ( landlord wifi sucks so bad - nearly out of range ). I installed it and within the first week it worked perfectly but after that, both of the extending wifi doesn't work with any devices ( phones, tablet etc..) at all ( even though they have full signal + green light on the wifi router signal ) EXCEPT my desktop and smart tv, they run smoothly. I don't know what is the reason behind this, I have tried reboot and re-setup multiple times but the result still the same. Currently have my desktop & tv connect to the additional wifi and all other devices connect to the original one. Please help me with this one :( Thanks,4.5KViews0likes6CommentsHow do I know what wi fi my camera is connected to on my EX6100?
I have an external security camera connected ??? through the above extender back to the main wifi router. I have 3 separate wi fi's with this = main, 2 and 5 extension numbers. It appears the camera is dropping out or has low reception to wi fi although the extender is only about 5 meters (inside garage). How can I tell if the camera is connected to the strongest signal, in this case the 5? Or has it connected to the main which is further away? Appreciate any feedback to a newbie at this! Thanks PeterHN300 can't find my 5G network
Hardware Version: WN3000RPv3 Firmware Version: V1.0.2.24 Howdy, My WiFi extender is only seeing 2G networks (including mine) when I go through a fresh setup via http://www.mywifiext.com/. But I'm trying to connect to my 5G network, like I do with several other devices. The setup process doesn't show any 5G networks. My router is broadcasting the 5G network name and has these settings: Mode: 802.11 n/ac Transmit Power: 100% Channel Selection: Automatic Channel: n/a Channel Bandwidth: 20/40/80(auto) Is this extender not 5G compatible? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!Solved39KViews0likes2CommentsWiFi extender not working: connects to router but no internet when you connect to extender: EX2700
I have been using the EX2700 WiFi Range extender for roughly 6 months without any problems however in the last week it has stopped working. It still connects to my WiFi router (all the appropriate lights are on) but when I connect to it on my laptop or mobile phone, there is no internet connection. I have followed all the troubleshooting instructions on this website and nothing has improved. I have reset the extender, forgotten the wifi network on my laptop/phone and reconnected yet still the same result. I found out I am apparently not eligible for customer support after just 90 days which is absolutely ridiculous. I should be able to call someone without paying a ridiculous cost just to receive some help. Asking on here is pretty much a last ditch effort, nothing else has been able to help so far unfortunately, hopefully somebody here can help3.5KViews0likes1CommentWN1000RP won't connect to router at all
Hi everyone, I am having real trouble trying to set up my WN1000RP extender. I have tried everything in the set up guide but I cannot get it to connect to the router. It's not a proximity issue because I have tried it even plugged in right next to the router. The new _EXT network shows up on all devices, but when we go to log in we're told our password is incorrect. But the LED light to indicate the extender is actually connected to the router isn't even on. I managed to set up my iPhone using the wizard and IP address instead, using the same password we tried on other devices, but that drops out after a few minutes. I have also done a factory reset and still no joy when trying again. Can anyone help me here?? Thanks!3.1KViews0likes2CommentsWN2500RP Extender Unable to Connect
I have seen numerous discussions here about extenders not being able to connect to devices. The answers are somewhat vague and not necessarily definitive. I have just finished a paid for support call and have found the symptom and looking for a solution. The Problem: Windows 7 machine, trying to connect to the Netgear WN2500RP. Using the Genie support app I have gone through all the steps (multiple times) including factory resetting the extender, rebooting the computer (and my smartphone also trying to connect to the extender) even including adding the MAC addresses to the main router. Nothing works, the extender will not connect with any devices. The lights on the extender are all green as they should be. Here is what I paid to find out. The extender is sending out a strong signal to the devices, but it is sending to the wrong IP address. This is why nothing will connect. So the question to Netgear Experts is, how do I change the outgoing IP address on the Netgear Extender? If possible, please include some easy to understand step by step processes that anyone coming across this thread (and from my reading there are many) can do to change the out going signal to the correct matching IP address to allow the devices to communicate. Thank you very much for your assistance.4.2KViews0likes2Comments
