Hi, I just recently upgraded my router to the Nighthawk 7000 and I have the older model Vuezone base station (GW2010) with 5 cameras for home security. I have gone through all the basic troubleshooting suggestions and I just can't get the base station to connect with the new router. Everything else in my home is working beautifully with the new router and I also invested into a new battery backup/surge protector for my home office equipment because we have had some construction going on down the road and have experienced a few power blips on and off lately. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to upgrade to an Arlo based system to get it working even though I was hoping not to have to spend anymore $$$ on this for home security. I really loved my vuezone and I hope this isn't built-in obsolence with my basestation and cameras. Thank you for you comments in advance. Hello! I have a NETGEAR Genie R6400 wireless router. I have hooked up my Xbox One in the past when I first purchased this router and I had this same issue. When the Xbox is wired directly to the router with all current settings the NAT type on the console is strict and "behind a port-preserving port-symmetric NAT". When I had this issue about a year ago, I contacted Xbox support, who led me through a series of options. These options ended up with me setting a static IP for the console, forwarding a number of ports, turning off UPnP, disabling SIP ALG and setting it to "open NAT," and establishing a DMZ to my consoles static IP. These settings all fixed the issue I was having. However, recently my router was reset to factory settings by another family member and now these settings are not fixing the issue. I contacted Xbox support and they walked me through some steps but none were successful. I'm curious if I need to completely redo the process? All my previous settings were still present, such as my static IP and the DMZ. I had to re-forward all the ports but I just forwarded them to the previously saved static IP. Could this be the issue I'm having? Or are there other settings I should be looking at? What setting should be changed or needed to wire my Xbox One directly to the router so the NAT type is open and I'm getting the most out of my router for bandwidth and gaming. Any and all responses and help is appreciated, thank you.11KViews0likes7CommentsN300 (EX2700) faulty connection & device link light
My neighbor and I share wifi using extenders and the main router is located in their home. I have an N300 connected to their NETGEAR R6300v2 2.4Ghz connection and the internet connection has become very slow and unstable. At one point it worked flawlessly. Something I noticed that is very odd is the device link light. All lights are green but the device link tends to turn amber and red when I use my iPhone 6 on the extender in the same room and the connection is slow and unstable. When I connect my 2013 MacBook Pro to the extender, the device link stays green but the connection is still slow. The extender is on channel 1 while the main router is on "auto". The main router has 6 devices attached. I've tried changing channels and updating firmware but the connection remains the same or gets worse. The main connection seems to work better when the extender is off. I've checked the NETGEAR Genie for the extender and it says everything is working properly. What could be the issue?4.1KViews0likes2CommentsExtending wifi doesn't work properly - EX6100
Hi all, I recently buy a Netgear wifi Extender - model EX6100 - to improve the range of my rent room ( landlord wifi sucks so bad - nearly out of range ). I installed it and within the first week it worked perfectly but after that, both of the extending wifi doesn't work with any devices ( phones, tablet etc..) at all ( even though they have full signal + green light on the wifi router signal ) EXCEPT my desktop and smart tv, they run smoothly. I don't know what is the reason behind this, I have tried reboot and re-setup multiple times but the result still the same. Currently have my desktop & tv connect to the additional wifi and all other devices connect to the original one. Please help me with this one :( Thanks,4.5KViews0likes6CommentsN300 keeps disconnecting
Hey guys, I've set up my router as an access point for my house. It works for 12 to 24 hours but then disconnects from my modem. I've been searching for days but coudn't find the issue. Maybe some of you have an answer? My router is running the latest firmware and is connected to the modem via a powerline model PL1000.SolvedR8000 Losses Connection
Most every day when I go to use my desktop with windows 10, I have loss connection to my router. My router is an X6 R8000 and I have loaded the latest firmware through the Net Genie. If I disconnect and reconnect everything is fine. I have not noticed this on my other devices. Mainly phones, but they would switch to cellular if wifi was not working and I may not notice. In the Netgear Genie it states to "right click on the network" I cannot even locate where to do this. THanks for any help.Solved6.9KViews0likes16CommentsHow do I know what wi fi my camera is connected to on my EX6100?
I have an external security camera connected ??? through the above extender back to the main wifi router. I have 3 separate wi fi's with this = main, 2 and 5 extension numbers. It appears the camera is dropping out or has low reception to wi fi although the extender is only about 5 meters (inside garage). How can I tell if the camera is connected to the strongest signal, in this case the 5? Or has it connected to the main which is further away? Appreciate any feedback to a newbie at this! Thanks PeterH
