Hi I have a RNDU2000 Readynas ultra 2. Two disks, no backup :( It won't start, with radar it says sometimes disk ok and next boot "corrupt root". When disks is ok I can install it as a new but I don't want to. I still think i'm able to retreive the files from the disks.I have tried OS re-install but nothing happens, it reboots but nothing installs. Took out the disks and connect it to a PC. Windows didn't recognize any disk. Downloaded ufsexplorer, it also didn't find any disks. Tried several tools from Diskinternals.com, those tools found my disks, even found almost 5000 files but could not preview any of them, also almost every file had same size. I read somwhere in this forum that the OS could be corrupt or the partition where OS is. Anyone who can explain to me how to "reset" the boot partition via SSH? Or install OS another way? USB? SSH?Corrupt boot - Factory Reset not working
Hi! I have a the RND2000v2 and it will not load. Using the most up to date version of RAIDar it tells me I have a Corrupt Boot. Following the manual I attempt to do do either a Factory Reset or an OS Reinstall, However when I perform the following to access the boot menu we get an issue. Unplug the ReadyNAS as it will not turn off on its own. (or the power button) Insert paperclip and press the "Reset" button on the back Plug the ReadyNAS back in Hit the power button Wait for everything to illuminate (as per Step 4 of the Manual) ...Except it never does, no matter how long I hold just the rest button. It does not seem to go into the Boot menu What happens iwhile holding the reset; The power button constantly flashes, and every 10 seconds or so the other (act, Disk1 and Disk 2) lights illuminate momentarily. I have tired to relase the reset button at this point in hopes it would stay in the boot menu, but they all turn off when I remove the paperclip from the reset button. If I try to use the "Backup" button to navigate the menu of the Boot Option nothing happens. No configuration of HDD seem to matter. I have tried, only 1 HDD in a bay at at time, both bays filled. and both bays empty. Thanks in advance.Solved
