Readynas ultra 2 (RNDU 2000) can't connect to admin nor re-install OS
Hi
I have a RNDU2000 Readynas ultra 2. Two disks, no backup :( It won't start, with radar it says sometimes disk ok and next boot "corrupt root". When disks is ok I can install it as a new but I don't want to. I still think i'm able to retreive the files from the disks.I have tried OS re-install but nothing happens, it reboots but nothing installs.
Took out the disks and connect it to a PC. Windows didn't recognize any disk.
Downloaded ufsexplorer, it also didn't find any disks.
Tried several tools from Diskinternals.com, those tools found my disks, even found almost 5000 files but could not preview any of them, also almost every file had same size.
I read somwhere in this forum that the OS could be corrupt or the partition where OS is.
Anyone who can explain to me how to "reset" the boot partition via SSH? Or install OS another way? USB? SSH?

First of all, you might want to test your disks in the windows PC using vendor tools (Lifeguard for Western Digital, Seatools for Seagate). They can find/test the disks even though Windows doesn't recognize the format.
You could also try R-linux for Windows, and see if it can read the files on the data volume.
Also, what are the SMART stats for the disks?

I don't see much evidence here that an OS reinstall will do any good. The normal way is to use the front panel's boot menu (pages 14-15 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RNDU2000/ReadyNAS_Ultra_UltraPlus_NVX_Pro_HW_en_8July11.pdf )
It will reset your admin password back to the factory default value (netgear1 for 4.2.x firmware). It will also reset your IP configuration to use DHCP, and remove any NIC bonding.

Haven't tried R-linux but vmware player with Debian as explained here, vmware Debian . Debian found the disks but could not read them.
SMART says "disk error" when bootin in windows.
Will try vendor program.
But shouldn't I be able to login to admin page?
Look at the picture, no error this time.

Perhaps that will become more clear after we figure out your disk health.
What happens if you enter https://192.168.1.26/admin
Do you see the login prompt?
If so, what happens when you enter admin and the admin password?
