Hello, Management->IP->LAN->Genaral: DHCP disabled, static IP given. 802.1Q: Untagged VLAN [X] = 4000 (bit bucket) Management VLAN: 3000 Wireless->SSIDs 4 SSIDs, on VLANs 500,600,700,800, named the same as VLAN for testing purposes. All are set to "Addressing and Traffic: bridged" Defaults for everything else. VLAN 500 is the only problem. The differences in config are: Captive Portal: "Click Through" Wireless Client Isolation: Enabled On my router I see a DHCP request (tcpdump) coming from that VLAN, the MAC of which is the same as the main ethernet interface of the AP. Lease is provided by the router in the expected DHCP range. My question is - where is this DHCP request coming from and why? How do I disable it? Thanks, and let me know if you need any more information.24Views0likes2CommentsGS1xxE and their PoE equivalents. Getting them an IP using DHCP on a specific vlan.
Hello to anyone taking the time to read this. I have close to a dozen netgear GS1xxE switches at my home and various family member's homes by now and swear by the things. Vlan tagging is a must for our various setups and these switches haven't disapointed yet. However , when it comes to configuring them, the fact one is incapable of selecting the vlan on which the things do their DHCP negotiating forces me to use fixed IP's. In essence this isn't all that bad. But adding this to the firmware isn't something unreasonable to ask I would think. http://i.imgur.com/JZEvBx4.png http://i.imgur.com/p9evrYY.png Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply. If you also think this slight oversight should be rectified please do reply.70KViews21likes16CommentsPlease provide administrator webpage for DHCP lease admin
Please refer to this topic where the router was struggling to hand out a new IP adress via DHCP : https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/R7000-DHCP-offer-but-no-connection-can-be-ma... On a router of this level, would a admin page that can control DCHP not be a minimal requirement? I am talking about a page that would show leased IP adresses and corresponding MAC adress. Also the possibility to change the lease time and to delete certain leases. A log file that would show DHCP offers and responses. With the current interface you are totally blind.11KViews2likes1CommentDHCP - Need to release IP addresses
Hi, I want a "release" function on UTM50 as it is in many other routers. We often do a lot of test on PDA's and tablets and the IP addresses is not enough. The test itself take maybe 15 minutes and then we take one more units and so on (we also have 5 to 10 units at the same time). The standard lease is 24 h and we have lowered it to 1 h but that is not enough for us. A simple release function should do the trick, then we can release the units we want or just release all. This function is on a lot of routers today.15KViews4likes1CommentDHCP Snooping Block DNS Packet
Hi, I've just encounter an issue with my GS724TPv2. As soon as I enabled the DHCP Snooping mode, I cant make dns resolving. Trusted Inferfaces are ok, and I retrieve an Ip from my dhcp server (which is the same as my dns server). I can ping, go to web servers (with their ips). If I turn off DHCP snooping mode, it works again (mac address validation didnts seem to have an impact), I can see my computer informations in the dynamic binding configuration screen. I have 3 724tp connected with LACP, i tried with one switch alone, no results I have DHCP snooping/filtering set up on my other switches (GS724T no POE) and I dont have this issue. If anyone has an idea (misconfiguration, bug,...) ? Thanks a lotSolved4.5KViews0likes8CommentsRouter dropping connections
My rbr50 keeps dropping connections on my network. Multiple computers seeing the same thing, they just lose their connection to the network. This includes internet access and internal resources within my network. I've confirmed my internet is fine by plugging directly into my modem, it's just the connection to the router that is having problems. I've done a factory reset 3 times now and can't stay connected for more than about 30 seconds. I'm on the latest firmware. This is the second time I've gone through this. The previous time about three weeks ago I did a factory reset and it fixed the problem. No such luck this time.FVS336Gv3 - How to connect to IPoE and get dynamic address?
I have a Netgear FVS336Gv3 dual-WAN router. I am trying to configure it to connect via a bridge-mode Actiontec T3200 modem (Windstream DSL). Windstream informs me that this connection uses IPoE instead of PPPoE, and instructed me to configure the router in dynamic (DHCP) mode. For some reason, the router does not get a public IP address assigned to the WAN port when connected to this modem. I tested by connecting my laptop directly to the T3200 and the laptop is immediately assigned a public IP address (NOT a private address) and can access the internet. I have a Spectrum Business modem connected to the other WAN port of this router, and it obtains an address and works fine. Any guidance is appreciated.Solved8.3KViews0likes4CommentsFirmware 2.1.3.4 - Issues Log
Good Afternoon Everyone, I was hoping to start a simple issues log thread here for 2.1.3.4 as I see multiple items popping up, and trying to decipher in a central spot might be worthwhile for product development at Netgear. I'll kick this first one off with an issue with DHCP reservations. I have not had the time to run a packet capture to see how the DCHP server is responding on the Orbi, but at the moment none of my devices are being fed their assigned DHCP reserved IP address. Authenication is working for WLAN to access a SSID, but IP address assignment is not occurring and failing for devices. Any feedback or detatiled documentation would be greatly appreciated for any item within this thread!c6300 does not get DHCP configuration in router mode
I purchased a c6300 router and registered it with xfinity. The problem is that in the router mode it never gets IP configuration from DHCP. If to switch it to the bridge mode, the connected computer receives configuration properly, so DHCP on the provider side works. I tried to reset it, restore factory settings, release/renew with no result. Using it in bridge mode as a just cable modem does not make sense for me as I am willing to upgrade to the high-speed wifi. Otherwise my previous setup of SB6121 + TP-Link N300 works fine1.5KViews0likes2CommentsMR1100 + 2 access points - DHCP address problems
My Nighthawk MR1100 (M1) is connected via Ethernet to an unmanaged switch, into which 2 access points are connected to distribute dual band WiFi around the house. Since the most recent firmware update (NTG9X50C_10.22.03.00 build date 22nd Nov 2017) the Ethernet port is staying awake but I'm having problems when I move a WiFi-connected device from one end of the house to the other: if the device is connected via one of the access points (rather than directly to the M1's WiFi) and I then attempt to connect via the other access point, it states (Obtaining IP address...) but never connects. One way I've found to solve this is to connect directly to the M1 WiFi first and then connect to the 2nd access point. It's like the M1's DHCP isn't issuing a new IP address to the device, or at least allowing the device to keep the same IP address but move to a new access point. I've allocated the 2 access points IP addresses that are outside the DHCP range of the M1 (changed from the default range to 192.168.1.80 to 192.168.1.149) and they are not the same as the M1's address (left on the default). The DHCP service is disabled on both access points (they are actually modem/routers converted to access points). Is this a fault with the M1's DHCP functionality or does this Ethernet switch + 2 access points configuration cause similar WiFi connectivity/IP address allocation problems with other routers?
