MfG, Robert36KViews9likes12Commentsethernet leds are amber netgear prosafe GS748T
Hi, I hope somebody help me. We have a switch netgear ProSafe GS748T, and suddenly, the leds that indicates if any port is occupied are amber, even if the port is empty, and they don't blink, all of them are in amber and fixed, but the funny thing is that all our pc's in our lan still have access to the internet and to the lan, what could be the problem? I will appreciate your answer. Thanks for all.SolvedEthernet Backhaul Best Practices
Two questions/clarifications (1) RBR50 is in AP mode. The RBR50 is connected to the ISP router using the RBR50's yellow WAN port. Going to try ethernet backhaul but wanted to do my homework first. The on-line documentation says the RBR50 (in AP mode) should be connected to the ISP router via the LAN port NOT the yellow WAN port. I set-up Orbi using the WAN port and when I switched the RBR50 to AP mode I left the ethernet in the WAN port. Why does Orbi still work with the connection via the WAN port even though I should have moved the cable over to the LAN port on the RBR50? (2) There is also a 1000 Mbps 16 port Netgear switch that is connected to the same ISP router that the RBR50 is also plugged into. Is the best ethernet backhaul performance (speed and/or reliablity) to connect (via ethernet) my two RBS50 satellites directly to the RBR50 or to the 16 port Netgear Switch? Is one method measurably superior to the other?SolvedOrbi Satellite RBS50 Not Connecting via Ethernet
Hello all! Our home is fairly large and was built by the Moravians (lots of stone), so we needed to connect the satellites via an ethernet cable. So recently I updated the Orbi RBR50, and RBS50's to firmware Version 2.1.2.18, which I was told makes them possible to connect via the ethernet. Now, one satellite is hooked up via the ethernet, but the other changes between the ethernet and 5G connection and gives significantly slower speeds. I've tried resetting it to factory settings and reinstalling the firmware. Is there still something wrong? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks so much ahead of time for all the help!SolvedRBK53 - Clarification on Ethernet Backhaul Set-Up
Hi i am hoping someone can help me clear up some questions regarding the setting up of my RBK53 Orbi router and two sateliites in an Ethernet Backhaul configuration. I have looked at the link below and read many posts on this site and others by don’t seem to get a clear view on how I connect to my home network. https://kb.netgear.com/000051205/What-is-Ethernet-backhaul-and-how-do-I-set-it-up-on-my-Orbi-WiFi-System My setup at up at home is a broadband router with 4 x LAN ports that are then connected to various small 1gps netgear switches throughout my house. Some of these switches daisy chain out to other rooms with switches so it is not a clean star topology. My Orbi router is currently connected directly into broadband router in AP mode via the yellow WAN port. The satellites are then wirelessly connected to the router. i have three key questions that I am looking to get clarified: 1/ with the running of a couple of cables I should be able to get the setup as per the 3rd diagram at the link above, i.e. all connected to a single netgear switch into the Orbi LAN ports. My question then Is, how should I connect the broadband network to my Orbi devices. Should I: a) run a cable from my broadband router into the yellow WAN port on the Orbi router? b) run a cable from my broadband router into another LAN port on the Orbi router and ignore the yellow WAN port? c) run a cable from my broadband router into the same switch I am connecting my Orbi devices to and ignore the yellow WAN port? 2/ assuming the above gets answered and I get it all working ok. Can I then run cables from my Orbi satellites into my other netgear switches to continue my network daisy chain to other rooms? 3/ before setting up the Ethernet Backhaul should I factory reset the satellites so that they lose their wireless configuration or do i leave as they are and will they just work out that they are connected via Ethernet and stop trying to create a wireless Backhaul? i hope this is all clear and I look forward to your support. cheersSolvedCome posso trasformare il modem router N600 DGND3700v2 in access point?
Qualche consiglio? Grazie in anticipo. Luca13KViews0likes10CommentsUnidentified Network through wired connection
Hi, I've been having trouble getting a wired connection with my Netgear Extender after we replace our Xfinity router due to the previous one being fried during a storm. It's been giving me Unidentified Network/ Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration. My current setup is a Cisco Xfinity Modem/Router Hybrid Model DPC3941T in the main office on the main floor and the EX7300 Netgear Extender in the basement set up as an extender. WiFi is strong and is working normally, only the wired connection is giving me a hard time. I have some knowledge/experience with troubleshooting and have already tried most of the basic troubleshooting steps to see what was wrong. - Factory reset the extender / modem / router - Replaced ethernet cable - Used a switch between the extender and computer - Did multiple ipconfig /release /renew with no results - Did the netsh commands to reset TCP/IP reset - Uninstalled the network driver / reinstalled with the current driver / tried using older driver - Did sfc /scannow - Gave the extender a static IP - Gave the computer a static IP / 10.0.0.1 / 192.168.1.1 / 192.168.0.1 as gateways I am getting a connection from the ethernet port on the EX7300 so it's not hardware related and more on the computer side. I've probably visited hundreds of sites and forums and tried the solutions there but my situation stayed the same. Here's my ipconfig /all Windows PowerShell Copyright (C) 2016 Microsoft Corporation. Is about a Nighthawk(R) X4S R7800 firmware version V1.0.2.40 Although a gigabith ethernet connection from the modem is connected to the wan port and a gigabit switchport is connected to ethernet LAN port 1, both show a maximum of 100Mb. Also the connected Gigabit switch port shows a maximum of 100Mb. (connecting other gigabit devices on the switcvh port show a 1Gbps speed) According to the specs , the ethernet ports of the R7800 are 1Gbps. What can be the cause that the bandwidth is max 100Mbps ? router status / internetport statistics:Solved9.8KViews0likes2CommentsHow stacking works is 2 stacked switches?
Hi Experts, I'm new to stacking and I would like to know how it will work with 2 switches. I know that when these 2 switches were stacked, they basically become a single switch. Now my question is, how High Availability is achieved by this? For example, Switch 1 has 40 devices connected to the ethernet ports. Then 35 devices connected to the ethernet ports of Switch 2. When one of them goes down, how the remaining Switch can cater all the devices connected to the Switch that goes down? Can someone shed me some light of concept and what will happen in this scenario? Thanks in advanced! ArnelSolved9.1KViews0likes6CommentsOrbi ethernet speed significantly slower than wifi
My wifi is working great. I pay for 100 mbps download and get at least that through the Orbi wifi. However, when I plug a laptop directly into the ethernet ports it's a whole different story. I get 5 to 9 mbps (90+ percent slower than wifi). I tried plugging the laptop into both the router and satellite and get the same result. I've attached two speedtest screenshots - one of them is using the wifi and the other the ethernet. Interestingly, the upload is virtually the same while the download is 15x slower over ethernet (unusable)
