R6400 wired connection drops out briefly every half hour or so (wireless never does)
Hello all. This is regarding my R6400 WiFi Router with the most recent firmware (V1.0.1.34_1.0.24). For a long time now my ethernet cable connection from Router to desktop PC (windows 10 64) has disconnected briefely every half hour or so (sometimes more sometimes less it's hard to gauge). I would say it goes out for about 10 seconds then returns. I see a little red X over the internet symbol in the taskbar when this happens so it's definitely going down for whatever reason. It's not the worst problem one can have, but sometimes I play online poker and it can make a huge difference there when in a big pot happening. I really can't risk it anymore and need to solve this. I tried switching which port the cable is plugged into but got the same problem. Any ideas? I guess I could buy another wireless adaptor if I can't solve this since our wireless connections never drop, but I'd rather not have to shell out money when the ethernet connection SHOULD work. Netgear R7800 ethernet port speed max 100Mbps
Is about a Nighthawk(R) X4S R7800 firmware version V1.0.2.40 Although a gigabith ethernet connection from the modem is connected to the wan port and a gigabit switchport is connected to ethernet LAN port 1, both show a maximum of 100Mb. Also the connected Gigabit switch port shows a maximum of 100Mb. (connecting other gigabit devices on the switcvh port show a 1Gbps speed) According to the specs , the ethernet ports of the R7800 are 1Gbps. What can be the cause that the bandwidth is max 100Mbps ? router status / internetport statistics:

Will R7000 connection to USB printer work for both wireless and wired computers?
I currently have a Windows 10 computer connected by Ethernet cable to my R7000 router. The computer currently connects to my printer's one USB port. When I change use of that USB port to connect to the router, will the cabled computer be able to access the printer through the Ethernet-to-router-to-printer route? My purpose is to print with my WiFi laptops.

X10 R9000 wired network running at 100Mbps
I recently bought a X10 R9000 router to replace my old WNDR4500 N900 router, also from Netgear. I have Cat 6 or better ethernet cable running from the cable modem to the router and from the router to two computers. - When the WNDR4500 was installed, I could achieve ~80 - 100 megabytes per second transfer rates between my two wired computers (~gigabit speeds) - The leds on the old router indicated gigabit ethernet connections - I installed the R9000 in the same location and did not change any of the ethernet wiring or the gigabit switches I have in place - The R9000 shows white flashing leds for the two computers, indicating gigabit ethernet connections - When I transfer a large file, the speed clearly tops out at ~10-11 megabytes per second, like it's hitting a hard limit (looks like ~100Mbps ethernet) - I disconnected everything and connected both computers directly to the router using Cat6 cables and I still see the same transfer rate limit - I turned off any QOS settings I could find, but no change I have already checked for new firmware (none available yet). Do I have a defective R9000? I'm really considering returning this and waiting for a less buggy AC7200 router to come out. At this point, my expensive router looks like a downgrade.

Can R7000 (or 7500, 7800, etc.) do wireless ethernet bridge + AP? (repeater bridge)
I'm trying to find out if the stock Netgear firmware allows you to put, say, an R7000 into wireless repeater bridge mode whereby it connects--preferably with the 5Ghz channel--to my main router, and then also acts as an access point and broadcasts my SSIDs--prefrably on both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz (though I realize this would require a virtual AP that I bet Netgear doesn't support). If not, then I'll just go with Tomato or DD-WRT, as I've used those in the past for such exercises. Thank you!

Nighthawk Router wifi will not connect to internet when cat6 are in the ports
I have comcast internet. Surfboard modem, nighthawk router. When the modem is connected to the router only wifi works corrcetly. If I try to connect and ethernet cord to any of the 4 ports on the back of the router, the wifi stops working. All the wifi devices remain connected (at least the iphones and ipads show they are still connected) but can't access any websites, thus not connected to the internet. Any suggestions on how to remedy this issue?

Netgear wn3000rpv3 not connecting to router via ethernet
So here is my challenge: I have Belkin Router and a netgear wn3000rpv3 extender. the extnder is able to connect to the router fine through wifi and I am able to connect to my devices as well as long as I set it up as an extender. I have a 75mbps connection. by the time I get to my device via the extender.. the speeds are dropping to like 2 to 4 mbps. Hence I thought I will get a cable pulled from my router to my extender. which I did.. and here starts the challenge. My extender is not able to connect to the router as an access point. It just keeps saying " The extender can't connect to the router'. I tried a manual setup using a static Ip. but to no avail. I dont get internet from the extender. My belkin router details are as follows: IP : 192.168.2.1 Mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP enabled from 192.168.2.2 to 192.168.2.200 Need some help and assistance of how I can setup the access point throught ethernet so I can hget faster speeds. Unidentified Network through wired connection
Hi, I've been having trouble getting a wired connection with my Netgear Extender after we replace our Xfinity router due to the previous one being fried during a storm. It's been giving me Unidentified Network/ Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration. My current setup is a Cisco Xfinity Modem/Router Hybrid Model DPC3941T in the main office on the main floor and the EX7300 Netgear Extender in the basement set up as an extender. WiFi is strong and is working normally, only the wired connection is giving me a hard time. I have some knowledge/experience with troubleshooting and have already tried most of the basic troubleshooting steps to see what was wrong. - Factory reset the extender / modem / router - Replaced ethernet cable - Used a switch between the extender and computer - Did multiple ipconfig /release /renew with no results - Did the netsh commands to reset TCP/IP reset - Uninstalled the network driver / reinstalled with the current driver / tried using older driver - Did sfc /scannow - Gave the extender a static IP - Gave the computer a static IP / 10.0.0.1 / 192.168.1.1 / 192.168.0.1 as gateways I am getting a connection from the ethernet port on the EX7300 so it's not hardware related and more on the computer side. Ethernet Port Speed
Not sure if V3 is the right version or not. The box it came in says WN3000RP-100NAS I have a small piece of electronics that seems to need a hard coded 10mb Full Duplex ethernet port. I have the N300 configured as an Extender and attached to my existing WiFi. If I plug a regular PC into the ethernet port, it works. If I plug this device I need to use directly into my switch and config my switch port for 10mb/Full, I am able to connect to it. If my switch port is set for Auto/Auto, it will not negotiate/connect to this device I need to connect. So what I would like to do is hard configure the ethernet port on the N300 for 10MB/Full. I don't see anywhere that this is possible to do though in the web interface and there appears to be no CLI available. Thanks!
