I am trying to update the firmware on my EX2700 Wi-Fi range extender. I've downloaded the firmware (version # 1.0.1.42). I follow the instructions in the release notes to go to URL http://www.mywifiext.net/, but I get an error message: "You are not connected to your extender's WiFi network" However, I AM connected to the extender network, rather than the router network. I get the error message with every browser I use: Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Internet Explorer. My computer is a Microsoft Surface Pro IV, running Windows 10 Pro. What can I do?Solved6.3KViews0likes4CommentsWhich one is better: WN3000RP or EX2700?
Hello, I was researching on buying a Wi-Fi range extender for my home and found the following two, which fits my budgets and needs: WN3000RP: https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-range-extenders/WN3000RP.aspx EX2700: https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-range-extenders/EX2700.aspx Now, I am kind of confused which one of these two are better. The price difference is not much, and from description in the Netgear site, both looks functionally same. Can some one in the community help me to make a wise decision? I am mostly concerened about the following things: 1. Which one is a newer model and likely to be supported for a longer time (from firmware update perspective)? 2. Which one has a better Wi-Fi signal range? 3. Any known bugs/issues in either of the two. Thanks in advance and looking forward for your comments/suggestions which can help me decide between the two. I can't connect to mywifiext.net I can connect from my Android phone to the EX2700's WiFi network, but when I hit that site, I see: { "reset":"1" } So I went into my primary router, found out the IP Address this EX2700 was using, and connected to it directly: http://192.168.1.127 (in my case) And it worked. Is www.mywifiext.net supposed to somehow connect to that IP address??Solved3.4KViews0likes1CommentCan I update firmware for EX2700 without using a laptop?
Hi there, I've had a EX2700 N300 Wifi Range Extender for some time and it's been working fine. It's situated upstairs in my room and the main router is downstairs in the living room. Suddenly my devices cannot access the internet through it. All the lights are green indicating it's connected to the router and devices but the download speeds I'm getting are between 0.01-0.20mbps and uploads are 0.00-0.01 so I'm not able to do anything online upstairs at the moment. I haven't updated to firmware, to see if that helps, as I don't have a laptop to download it onto. Do you know of another way I can update its firmware or anything else you can suggest I try to get the usage back? I"m at the end of my rope with Netgear!! Here is the problem. I have an existing network that's been up and running for over twenty years. I currently (last few years) use a Netgear WGR614V9 router. It has the most recent updates. I just purchased a Netgear N300 Wifi range extender model EX2700. No matter what I try, I can't get the extender to pair with the router. The instructions say I can press the wps button on the extender and within two minutes push the wps button on the router. Unfortunately, I can't find a WPS router button and it's not mentioned in the manual. I've followed option 2 a number of times, resetting the extender (safety pin while the extender is plugged in and on) after each failed attempt. At no point has the router light on the extender been lit. I tried plugging in to an outlet shared with the router. My router has the most up to date firmware and is less than half a foot from the extender. On mywifiext.net site, I select my existing network and enter the password. Then I choose to use the same password for the extended network. It correctly shows mynetwork_EXT as an available network and I can log onto it from several machines (iPad, laptop with Windows and with Linux) but without internet access. The problem begins when I get to a screen about attaching devices to the extended network and clicking continue. At the point, it simply chugs away for a bit and then returns to the login screen for the primary network. Hopefully, someone can explain why it's NOT WORKING as it's supposed to. :-( I've also added the mac address to a reserved ip as well as setting my network to only allow specific equipment by MAC address BUT that is clicked OFFED for now. I usually do that whenever I install anything new. Please let me know if you need any other information. Thank you very much!707Views0likes1CommentAmazon says EX2700 can be used as access point, thru software switch (it has no hardware AP switch)
Also, I have gathered from a few Amazon reviewers that EX2700 can easily be set up in AP Mode, by simply connecting it to wireless modum/router with ethernet cable. Can someone here provide or point me to a simple step-by-step procedure for setting up my new EX2700 (Essentials Edition) as a wireless access point? Thanks in advance for any help. hl-louisiana7.3KViews1like2CommentsRegistering with Serial - EX2700 - and WPS every time
Im trying to extend the router to my bedroom however I have to go to settings on my phone (Sony Xperia Z3), Wifi, Settings then WPS push button evertime to connect. If I try normally it comes up with Authentication problem (tried the password many a time - works on the main router but not on the N300). And when trying to install my Chromecast to the tv in my room there's no sign of it at all! So after all that i tried to register with Netgear however it states that I may have the wrong serial number and cant submit - ive tried the MAC, serial number and WPS PN too. Much appreciated for any help to the donkey here!! Cheers2.1KViews0likes1CommentCan ping the ex2700 extender but it doesn't show up in available networks
I can successfully manually set up the ex2700 on the mywifiext.net, then ping the unit successfully. I can connect any of our home devices but our one Windows 10 PC, a Yoga 700. Firmware updated 3/4/20172.3KViews0likes1Comment
