80 TopicsStuck in a dilemma in regards to Knighthawk configuration and management
After almost five decades of working in the comp tech industry I developed an eye condition limiting my ability to utilize technology. In particular, mobile tech. Besiides the fact that I have worked for far too long in tech to trust any mobile device. (Yes, I ran cfw on all my phones that could support it) And just in case you are concerned that my device was the limiting factor, I attempted it on 5 different devices with 3 different OS's not including my wife's cell which is stock Samsung and still couldn't found the app unusable. So, mobile apps are out as they are illegible. Great, I attempted the alternative methods via web config and management on the PC. Yet there is a problem there as well. To get my PC screen semi-usable with my eye limitations it makes quite a few website features difficult if not impossible to use. (IE: on the http://www.netgear.com website, without fiddling around with the display settings, I can't see half the links at the top. "NETGEAR", Search, Account and cart don't exist unless I happen to float over them. Didn't even know they were there until I accidentally hovered over one of them and I saw it highlight.) Going to attempt to attach a screen shot so you can see an example of what I put up with just trying to do some basic things on a comnputer. This makes the web admin difficult to use as there are quite few options that the toggle or check box doesn't show or doesn't indicate when it has been activated even when it does show or links that I don't even know if they might exist. Now that we have taken a basic look at my issue with continued use of technology (it's almost masochistic that I keep trying to use tech at this point)(I get a headache within an hour of two of trying to force myself to read a computer screen. Genie, although not as streamlined at this point and currenlty discontinued, was at least usable and I would have probably continued to use if I didn't have to upgrade to Windows 11 (FU MS for not supporting slighter older procs even on a system that fully supported tpm 2.0), and also didn't have to upgrade my wi-fi router as my previous one EOS'd earlier this month. So, main points: Can't use Mobile App. Web Admin slightly more usable but limited for monitoring as I would have to log in routinely as opposed to having an app on my pc to monitor and config The app that was usable is dicontinued. I didn't see anything for any form of third party standardized management such as SNMPv3 while going through the web admin. (did I miss it?) Base overall query: Any chance there is an updated "Genie" in the works? Is there any other alternatives I should attempt to look at? Barring a positive workable answer to the two previous questions, I will have to hunt for an alternative solution and circular file my most recent netgear purchase and discontinue my relationship with the company. Thanks for your time, consideration and overall patience, -G P.S. if you look at the attached image, you shoudl see what I am referring to in regards to apparent missing links such as search, account and cart.9Views0likes1CommentNH App Features and Interface
Hello everyone. For some strange reason, I don’t have the ability to block devices from my Nighthawk app. Note I don’t share my cax80 or network with anyone so it’s not as if there is someone else who should have any access to my app. Although I have been dealing with an individual who has been compromising and hijacking my network and devices in the past. When I set up my network using the Nighthawk app, my interface has me under a home profile and within that profile any devices all I can do is pause them. Something tells me that that is a profile created by someone who possibly has control of mine admin login. I’ve verified that my device is registered under my email and my firmware is up-to-date so I’m not sure what’s happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.25Views0likes1CommentOrbi app not connecting via Local or Anywhere Access, cant log in from PC as administrator.
I have an Orbi AX4200 RBR750 WiFi 6 router with two satellites, but I am unable to connect through Anywhere Access or locally. My Nighthawk CM2000 2.5Gb cable modem is connected to a Mediacom ISP 1Gb fiber line. I use Windows Defender across my iPhone, iPad, and PC, as well as the Windows Defender VPN on these devices. My PC runs Total Defense Internet Security Suite CE 25.4. I also use an iPhone 16 with iOS 26.0.1, accessing Anywhere Access remotely and Local access when on-site. The ORBI app version is 2.48.0.43. Oddly, the app shows that I am connected with a green dot under "Your Products" in Anywhere Access, but it then displays a message saying, "Device is Offline," which it is not. I am also unable to log in via Orbilogin.net or the IP address. My WiFi, ISP, and network are functioning fine, but I lack local or remote access to perform updates, reboot remotely, or check activity. Thanks in advance for any assistance in resolving or identifying the issue with connecting.29Views0likes5CommentsI have the app on my iPhone and it shows devices offline when they are online
I am having the same problem more than 3 years later with RBE871. What you suggest is not a solution. I have named all the devices and will not go back to square one. When is NETGEAR going to fix the problem. I’m having it with Windows 10 & 11 and with both Chrome & Edge browsers. I have the app on my iPhone and it shows devices offline when they are online. I’ve created a case #49279170. Once again, when is NETGEAR going to fix this problem.97Views0likes4CommentsRename MR90 in "Your Products"
Hi Everyone. I have a business and a home running Nighthawk Meshes. When I go to select those networks in the "Your Products" section of the Nighthawk App they are both named MR90. I would like to rename that MR90 to a specific name that will help me to distinguish them apart more easily. Is there a way to do that. The SSIDs are different but that does not show up when selecting them in the app. Only "MR90" and their serial numbers. Thank you for any help that you might give. I am attaching a screenshot to help.28Views1like1CommentOrbi App - device manager and remote access not working - iOS
I can only use the web interface. I have an orbi 870 and I cant use device manager or do remote access. The error is "Sorry your device list failed to load. Please try again later." I've done the power cycle, uninstall-reinstall app. Nothing works.Solved75Views0likes2CommentsORBI App Strange Message
I own an RBK853 ORBI system. Has been running fine for several years. Currently on V7.2.7.15_5.1.16 firmware. Had a power outage and rebooted my system yesterday. Went to use ORBI app on my iPhone this morning and got an odd message stating, "This Orbi is linked to a different account." My RBK853 system has been registered since 2023 and currently shows up in "My Registered Products". I get this page if I select "Fix This Issue". I'm not willing to do a factory reset just for ORBI app's sake. The web-based app is working fine. Any idea why this is happening? Are there any work-arounds? Thanks for your help!Solved155Views0likes13Comments
