I have a R7000 router. I found out the current log size is very limited and I want it to log 24 hours events. I guess saving log on router has file size limitation. As I know, R7000 router can connect to a portable USB hard drive directly and can use it to do backup files. Why not use it to store the log data file? By doing it, the router can store any large log file size as long as the hard drive has the capacity. I think it is feasible and not hard to implement this as Router can access this hard drive directly and already provided some file back up features. Please Netgear change some configuration to add this feature. That will be great!!Log files and Outlook 2010 Junk Folder
The R8000 router sends log emails identifying itself as ROOT@R8000 Outlook 2010 is trapping this email in its junk filter. It would be easy to simply add the email address to the safe senders list EXCEPT you cannot input an email address that doesn't end with at least a 'dot' and preferably a top level domain like 'dot com'. It would be a courtesy of Netgear in a future firmware to either add the ability to define the sender for log emails, or at a minimum, create a full qualified email address.Solved3.2KViews0likes4CommentsR7000 email not sent at correct time after daylight savings ended, F/W 1.0.7
My log came in one hour early today (Sunday Nov. 6th) and daylight savings time has ended early this morning on the East Coast of the US. From the LOG still on the router: [email sent to: icccc@rr.com] Sunday, Nov 06,2016 06:01:00 Should be sent at 7AM. See Screen Captures (when they appear): Which show when they should be sent. Which shows the PRESENT time as 6:44:46 AM and that DST should be adjusted. Yet log WAS sent at 6:01AM.Solved2.9KViews0likes5Comments
