We are reviewing your networking products for internal compliance purposes. Could you please confirm which of your hardware-based products (e.g., switches, routers, relays, gateways) include any of the following cryptographic functions: Provisioning or distribution of encryption keys to other devices Acting as a MACsec Key Server (e.g., providing CAKs/SAKs to peers via MKA) Providing IPsec/IKEv2 key exchange for other systems Embedded EAP/PKI certificate provisioning or CA functions Managing network-wide encryption policies or certificate trust for other devices We are not asking about encryption used only for login/authentication (e.g., HTTPS, SNMPv3, 802.1X), or encryption used solely for the unit’s own interfaces. This request is limited to cases where the product provides or manages encryption on behalf of other devices. If possible, please provide a list or matrix identifying which models include any of the above features. Any documentation that describes these capabilities would also be appreciated. Thank you for your support.8Views0likes0CommentsUse ProSafe switch as unmanaged?
This is probably a very niche setup request, but I am looking to acquire a gently used 48 port unmanaged switch for home use. I currently have a D-Link 24 port unmanaged switch, which still works fine after many years, but I'm out of ports and I don't want to daisy chain switches together to be able to add more ethernet runs. I do have 2 POE devices at this point, both using injectors, so if a new-to-me 48 port switch had POE also, that would be a plus (but not a hard requirement). So, I see Netgear makes a product to fit the bill, a GS348PP, but I'm not looking to shell out hundreds of dollars for a brand new unit, especially when there are plenty of good condition, used ProSafe switches out there on eBay, for around $100 or less. So, can I scoop up a gently used ProSafe switch on eBay and just turn off ALL of the smart management features? I don't have any need for VLAN's and all of the other alphabet soup features that come with it (most of which I don't understand). I have a very simple home network setup, and I'm not looking to become a network engineer at this point in my life. The closest thing I found to an answer was on page 11 of an S3300 Stackable Smart Switch manual where it says "The NETGEAR switch functions as a simple switch without the management software." And that's it - it doesn't describe further on how to actually accomplish that. Would I get a used unit from eBay and just factory reset it, and then never log into the management GUI, and call it a day at that? Thanks in advance for any advice.SolvedM4100-50G-POE Prosafe - Don´t have the option Vlan Trunking and Vlan Membership
Hi Community, please you help. I´m trying to configure a trunk port in M4100, however I don´t have the option Vlan Trunking and Vlan membership. I update the SW, but the options still don't appear. Hi Community, We recently purchased the aforementioned switch to replace a failing Xtreme. We have our VLANS setup and for the most part things seem to be working. Prior to this new switch we had another configured as the multicast querier, but the goal was for this switch to take over the role. We've been experiencing network & internet performance issues; it looks like the switch is flooding the core. I'm attempting to disable Multicast router on the uplink port, but it won't disable, and I can't figure out what setting is enabled that is preventing me front disabling this option. Or maybe we have a multicast configuration problem. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.22Views0likes0CommentsOOB Management ACL
Hello all, I am trying to create an ACL to apply to the service port. Through the command line, I am able to make a management acl using the "management access-list" command. After making the ACL, when trying to make rules, there is no serviceport option after typing the ip-source for the rule. Then, when applying the ACL through the "management access-class name" command and trying to access the switch through ssh from an ip not on the list, I am able to access the switch. The ACL says no packets were filtered. The serviceport is the only connection available from outside of the switch. I am using an AV4250 switch. Thanks.12Views0likes0CommentsCreating and setting up a VLAN
Hi, I have a network 192.9.200.0/24. I need to access a device using 192.9.201.0/24 I am using a M4300-12X12F ProSAFE 12-port 10GBASE-T and 12-port 10G SFP+ with firmware 12.0.4.8. I could not create a VLAN with the GUI, the Switching -> VLAN Config -> Advanced "Add" button was not working. Any idea why? Instead, I used the CLI with (On Windows 10): telnet 192.9.200.217 enable vlan database vlan 100 I am stuck on assigning a 192.9.201.217 IP address to VLAN0100 and setting up the routing between default and VLAN0100. How do I do that, preferably with the GUI?38Views0likes1CommentM4300 8X8F stack ports down
Hello. We have 2 M4300-8X8F switches in stack mode. Stacking ports are port 7 and 8 respectively. Since a few days port 8 is dead on both sides. Sometimes I could observe a link flap on these ports. I do not want to unstack and restack. What can I do, swap the Cu modules used? Is there a way to check the switch port? Andreas19Views0likes0CommentsM4300-16x loses connection to Modem/Router
Hi, Looking for help regarding an issue where my managed switch will lose connection to the internet. And is fixed by unplug/plug the ethernet cable and generally will be ok for a few hours or days before the problem reoccurs. Setup:: ISP modem/router (Bell gigahub 3Gb Fiber) -> Cat6a SSTP (Fluke tested) -> Switch -> NAS and various PCs Switch is set to static IP (192.168.2.2). Already reset switch. When i log on to the modem to review connected devices it does not appear when the loss is active. Having trouble finding the problem, any suggestions?9Views0likes0CommentsM5300-52g slow start up when using v11 firmware
Hi During a deployment of a stack to replace an existing one, I ran into a problem. Instead of lift and shift of both units, the 52 port switch running v11 firmware (pre configured) was plugged into a live older switch (running v10). This then sent both switches into a tailspin and broke the configuration of both old and new hardware. The old stack has been restored, however I still need to replace with the 5300 stack. The new M5300 52g switch is showing some VERY strange behaviour even after factory reset and multiple firmware updates and factory resets. Initially after the incident, I had to force a reset using the CLI and to perform a hardware reset from there. Incidentally, all the ports apart from the USB, on the switch just weren't working or detecting any cables. Once I eventually got into the GUI, I could see that it was showing both elements of the v10 AND v11 firmware together. Having followed advice from within this forum, I have loaded v.10.0.0.53 to the switch. This then boots up fine and the ports on the front become live within 90 seconds. However, if I upgrade the same switch to v11.0.0.40 and reboot, It then takes 7 minutes before I can ping it and get access to the GUI. I'm simply not willing to rebuild and deploy this switch until I get this behaving as it was prior to the incident. Please note. I'm pinging the default private addressing 169.254.100.100 and I'm not worried about the config as it's going to need a fresh build. Old kit GSM7228PS and a GSM7352Sv2. Running v10.0.0.53 New kit M5300 52g and M5300-28g-PoE+. Desired firmware V11.0.0.40 I feel I have exhausted all my options and would welcome any other suggestions. Thanks in advance.14Views0likes0Comments
