I have just bought a Netgear Nighthawk M1 through Telstra to enable working in the field. Plugged into the wallmount to charge and the battery seems to drain instead. It will only charge through USB which defeats the purpose of being completely mobile. There is a community discussion on this going back to 2014 but no obvious solution offered. Any suggestions?Cannot access my router settings (log-in) in any way (factory reset'd several times)
Hey everyone, before I start I want to apologize if this is not the correct section to post this thread. The router I currently own is this one (click here) and I simply cannot access my router settings (routerlogin.com or 192.168.1.1) I do get the text box to input my username : password but all the login infos I've looked up in google won't work. Text Box I get to see. I tried multiple sites to check for login info and none work, one of those being this huge "2018 updated" list: https://www.lifewire.com/netgear-default-password-list-2619154 At the beggining I thought it could be my router messing stuff around because sometimes I got a message saying "Your conenction is not secure" so I tried on MS Edge and then on Firefox, no luck either. I decided to contact ISP, blah, blah, for security reasons they cannot give me admin : password (not sure why?) [My ISP provided me this Netgeat router, I didn't buy it by myself]. Anyhow I did not care about what they said because I used to have TrendNET router and could access to my router settings with no interference from them; the next big step I did was holding the little "factory reset" until the power light started to blink (Not sure if it's held more time it might do something). After factory reset I got the default SSID and PW of the network, I logged in, and had to "log-in" to the network, the only thing it said was the SSID and PW I already knew and 2 buttons, one was to print all the info and the other one to proceed and "activate" the internet. Tried all the possible combinations of admin : password after factory reset and no luck either, no I'm stuck with a SSID called "SureWest-f1" instead of the custom SSID I want. I remember once after a while (because I gave up and submitting a live chat here required a proof of purchase which I don't have because like I mentioned before, my ISP gave this to me) I remember attempting to factory reset it again like 4+ times, and only ONE of them allowed me to access the router info, I had like 3 options to choose, continue with net, configure settings, etc. (instead of the print thing screen I mentioned before) but amazingly unlucky me something happened and after settings everything I wanted, the save button or whatever it was simply didn't work, didn't have connection anymore, had to factory reset again and since then I haven't ever been able to access my router settings apart from that lucky try. (Not exactly sure WHAT I did that one time, maybe I held the factory reset button longer? Who knows..) I'd really like to access my router settings to change SSID how I want, custom password, and doing some port-forwarding. Please any help is appreciated, my ISP just won't help me, they're limiting me what to do with my OWN router.SolvedNetgear Xr500: sliders does no affect to download speed
So I have purchased the Netgear Xr500 after many years of use on the NetDuma R1. I have my download speeds set up which I’m currently getting 329 Mbps download and 12 Mbps upload. My Xbox gets the majority of the internet but when I lower my sliders for the download, nothing seems to happen to my download speed it will stay the same. I am looking for some help or advice on this matter. Thank you4.9KViews0likes6CommentsMR1100 – Nighthawk M1 Strict NAT on Xbox Issue
Hello, all. A few months back I purchased a unlimited data plan with at&t along with this hotspot in order to game on the Xbox One with it. So, I get on Xbox to find that I have a Strict NAT. I know many here would automatically point me towards a beginners guide on port forwarding but, that's my problem. I did that. I port forwarded everything it asked me to, I tried it both with a static IP and without a static IP. I reset my Xbox time and time again along with clearing the MAC address (After every change to the settings I the modem I made, I reset my Xbox and made sure to unplug it for at least a minute and drain the power block). Hell, I even tried to enable DMZ, knowing that it was dangerous and it STILL didn't open my NAT. My model of nighthawk has UPnP, but that doesn't work either for some reason. In the network settings of the Xbox it says the following: IPv4 NAT Type: Strict UPnP not successful xbox.com/xboxone/UPnP All services are available. I went to the link provided here and tried their method to make UPnP work. It didn't. I attached a screenshot of my attwifimanager page show what I did to port forward (I blocked out my static IP because I didn't know if it would be safe to share here) I would be grateful to anyone who could give me a STEP BY STEP for this model/at&t solution. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong because I've been trying to fix this for months.Connecting AC1200 EX6150-100NAS Range Extender to Ring Video Doorbell
I connected my AC1200 range extender to my FiOS router yesterday and my iPhone and Mac had no trouble connecting to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands on the range extender. When I tried to connect my Ring Doorbell, however, it only detected the 2.4GHz band, and couldn't connect to the range extender. It connected to my FiOS router just fine, but the range means that the doorbell has a poor connection. This is why I purchased the range extender in the first place. Has someone managed to successfully do this before? I'd hate to return the range extender, but I may need to. Thanks.Solved17KViews0likes3CommentsNetgear Genie Still Crashing

Router Firmware Version V2.0.0.74 Steps to reproduce: 1) Sign in to orbilogin.com (or whatever method) 2) Click the "Advanced" tab 3) Expand the "Advanced Setup" section in the left list, then scroll down within the list until you see "VLAN/Bridge Settings". Click "VLAN/Bridge Settings". 4) Click "Enable VLAN/Bridge group" and then "By VLAN tag group". 5) Highlight the existing/default "Internet" VLAN tag group and click "EDIT" 6) Change the VLAN ID (e.g. to 201, as I need to do for CenturyLink Fiber internet). 7) Click "APPLY" Expected results: VLAN tag group page is shown with the new settings specified above. Actual results: VLAN tag group page is shown with old settings; any changes are not respected/retained/saved. Using the exact steps above, the entire VLAN settings are disabled / not enabled. If you already have VLAN settings enabled, then the "Internet" group will simply remain in VLAN ID 10 -either way, it is uneditable. Looking for Netgear help here, as this seems to be a bug in their firmware or router settings. Also very interested if others can reproduce, or whether this is just my device.Solved
