So I just recently purchased the Orbi RBK40 router and I noticed you cannot separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi signals through normal methods. I was told that the router has a system or program that automatically pushes the best connection possible. All the devices that support a 5GHz connection seem to connect just fine. However, there are two PS4 Pros in the house and the router refuse to connect it to the 5GHz conncetion. Under my network settings on both PS4 Pro say they are on a 2.4 GHz conncetion. Even under the router GUI it says that it's connected to the 2.4 GHz conncetion. I've been trying to look up methods on how to connect it mannually but no luck. I found a post that teaches how to separate the SSIDs for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz and it worked, however the devices that were connceting to the 5GHz were experincing lag issues and would not have a consistent download rate. I usually average between 145-150 Mbps download when I don't split the SSIDs. However, when they are separate SSIDs, the download ranges from 6-130 Mbps and is never consistent. Not to mention, when the SSIDs are split, the PS4s seems to disconnect from the router frequently. Long story short, is there a way to connect the PS4 Pro to the 5GHz connection?Help with ac1900 R7000 nighthawk, cm600 cable modem, and ac2200 wifi extender
Would it be possible to run an ethernet cable from my cm600 cable modem to set nighthawk ac1900 R7000. Then connect an ethernet cable from my ac1900 to my ac2200 wifi range extender for the wifi. Would i have to set my ac1900 in bridge mode? Also this is for the purpose of not only running an ethernet to the ac2200 but another one to my playstation 4 as well. The ac2200 has the option to flip it as an access point instead of a range extender. Therefore i would be able to connect my wifi devices to the ac2200. Basically it would go internet -> cm600 -> ac1900 ->lan cable to ps4, lan cable to ac2200. Sorry I am new to this. Is this completely redundant? I ask this because when i set my ac2200 as extender mode, it will screw up my LAN connection on my ps4 when anyone connects to the ac2200 for some reason. I dont know what settings i'd have to do to fix that.. just wondering if the setup i described above would work just as well.1.3KViews0likes3Comments2 PS4 in same house, same wifi NOT WORKING
My husband and I are NOT techies and all we want is to both we able to play against either other online on our respective PS4s in the same house - different rooms. We have xfinity, and just firgured our cheap little router they gave us was the problem. So we picked up this nighthawk router. We got the moderately priced option. Fearing the cheapest would be too weak, but we live in a small apartment so we didnt want the heavy duty one either. We got home and hooked it up like it says in the booklet. It is up and running just fine. IT WONT LET US PLAY TOGETHER. It keeps kicking us saying we dont have internet, yet when we run the net work connection test, it looks to be connected at top speed. PLEASE help. This is the only reason we bought the router and it doesn't seem to be helping! Did we get in over our head or can this still be set up to work?Solved4.1KViews0likes2CommentsNat Type Restricted PS4
I just got spectrum Internet and decided to get the c7000 so I can directly plug in my PS4 and still have Wifi for other devices. When I connect via wifi I get a nat type 2. When I try to connect directly through LAN i get Nat type 3. I also opened up all ports through DMZ and also tried port forwarding as well and no luck. I just wanted to get a device to have the best direct connection and have no Nat type restrictions. Please advise I feel like i just wasted $200+ dollars.2.3KViews0likes1CommentNETGEAR EX7000 Connection Problems
Hello Guys, i have a big issue with my Range Extender* ( EX7000). (I'm connected to the 2GEXT.) The problem is that my Labtop, Computer connects fine to the RE* ... but my other devices like my PS4, Iphone , IPad have Problems with the Connection. I solved the Problem on the I/phone/pad by typing the CLIENT-ID manually in the WLAN Settings from the RE. But on the PS4 i can't connect to the RE. I tested it via LAN and WLAN Connection.. FAILED.. But when i connect to the main WIFI Connection everything works fine.. Also tried to reset the RE Device.. same result. I also have Problems to connect on http://mywifiext.net/. My Internet explorer tells me ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT while i'm connected to the RE Device... Can anybody help me or have the same Problem with the RE EX7000 ? Hey everyone, I've run into some issues with my router that I have so far been unable to remedy. The router is only about a month old, and for the first 3 weeks everything worked awesome. Since then I had changed no settings or configurations, and all of a sudden my PS4 has become extremely unstable with the router. Every time I try to test internet connection on PS4, it gives me either failed internet test, or failed NAT test and in some cases failed uploasd speeds. Also the speeds are incredibly slow in comparison to what it was before this started happening. Used to be 90-130Mbps, now I'm lucky to see 8Mbps if. Keep in mind this is the wired connection. Just a note, laptops and other devices(android phones) exhibit some of the intermittent connection issues, but don't seem nearly as extreme. What I have tried: -Restarting router/PS4 -Static IP for PS4 -PS4 placed in DMZ -Forwarding all necessary ports to PS4 -DMZ and Port forward at same time -Checked cable line power(All within normal range) -Plugged laptop into router, had same intermittent issue with that wired connection -Went wifi connection on PS4, did not solve issue Has anyone else had this issue before? I feel like I have tried everything and I'm starting to think I may have gotten defective hardware. Any advice is greatly appreciated!2.7KViews0likes1CommentEX2700 devixe reading error

OK where to begin? My ISP is cox cable my new cable modem: Netgear CM1000 old cable modem/router: Cisco DPC3825 i recently set up my new NETGEAR CM1000 with them. it works fine and all but i dont have a router yet since im saving up for the X10. I bought the Cisco DPC3825 modem/router from Cox 3 years ago. The router would lose signal constantly, but regardless, i at least had a wireless network. So seeing as the DPC3825 is my only router at the moment, i would like to ask for anyones help on setting up the CM1000 to work with the DPC3825 and hopefully i can broadcast a wireless network without connecting the coaxial to the router. I know that the 3825 does not compare to any newer router but its all i have for the time being. i just want to connect the one ethernet cable from the CM1000 to the 3825 and run a wireless and also be able have a wan network. The only devices i ever have a wired connection into the router are ps3, ps4, and my laptop. i have 4 phones and 2 tablets. I read all about bridged mode but that option has been removed by a firmware update. at first i thought it was but i dont need the 3825 to run only as a modem. i just need it to run like a router would. I have tried to connect the modem to the router already but i get no internet connection. maybe its just not compatible. PLEASE END MY MISERY and please help so that someone who might have the same problem can read this and help them in the future. i have read countless pages but i cant find a way to have a successful wired connection from modem to router to laptop. and essentialy to ps4.3.8KViews0likes1CommentMy PS4 will connect to my N750 router and the internet, but can't use PSN.
I am having an issue with my WNDR4300 N750 WiFi Dual Band Gigabit Router running on firmware version V1.0.0.32. It would seem that this router is cutting off connections with the Playstation Network. Having used a previous router and everything working fine, after the installation of the new router, PSN on my PS4 and the PS App on my phone cannot connect. After having been through several calls with both the PS support and my ISP support, I am hoping to find some solutions here. The easiest solution to me at the moment is to simply buy a new router, but I would prefer being able to use this one. Hope someone can help with this issue!Solved
