RBK50 (Router + Satellite) with 2 x RBW30 satellites. I have spent more than 4 hours in 3 days on phone with support to try and resolve issues of the following: RBK50 router reboots randomly. Devices nearest to Satellites use Router at further distance. AP isolation issue related to Google Home devices makes them unavailable if you are connected to a different satellite than that device. More frequent reboots than without Satellites. My RBK50 without RBW30 with reboot at least twice a day for no reason but more with Satellites. I am not sure what to make of this. Support goes through the playbook of 'Reboot please'. 'Re-sync please'. 'Update firmware', 'downgrade firmware'. 'Disconnect satellite', 'reconnect'. 'Hold on let me check with my team'. This can't be poor quality control can it? There seem to be numerous reports of similar issues. I have spent close to $600 on my Orbi system and all we have is outsourced consumer support and these user forums which Netgear support seems largely absent from. Is there any solution to the rebooting issue or a way to pinpoint the cause?Repeater slows down every couple fo days - needs reboot
Hardware Version: WN2000RPTv3 Firmware Version: V1.0.1.26 I have not upgraded to V1.0.1.4 because as I usnderstand it its only a GUI change. I've had this range extender for a bit over 1 year. While it works, its works fine. However, over the past 6 mos or so I've been batling a sluginesh that builds up over just a few days - 3~5. at that time it goes to a crawl - I could walk the bits over to the corresponding web site faster. I've read a number of similar issues and possible solutions. I have applied some of these changes to it based on recommendations I've read: fixed IP within my network, firmware update. Thats really I all I know to do so far. The only solution I have so far is to reboot it evey 2~3 days to get the right speed back. Obviously this is not how this is supposed to work. I'd probably be happy if lacking any real Netgear solution I could have it reboot automatically evey night... That said - any additional recommendations?1.1KViews0likes4CommentsOrbi RBK40 - rebooted serveral time after firmware upgraded to V2.1.2.18
Had the RBK40 for about two week and experiencing random reboots on the RBR40 since it was auto upgraded to V2.1.2.18. The RBS40 unit seems to be pretty stable which has been up for about 1 week. I have iPhones, smart things hub, hue hub, roku, cromecast, google home, macbooks, and widows pc, xbox, harmony hub, wireless printer devices on conncted to the Orbi. Anyone else with RBK40 experiencing the same issue on V2.1.2.18? Is this a known issue Netgear is looking at? Aside from the random reboots, the coverage and performance has been great but I will be returning due to the unstable firmware. PS: Forcing auto fireware upgrade on people's orbi is crazy. You should have an option to opt out of the auto upgrade in the future firmware release. My RBR50 keeps spontaneously rebooting
I have an RBR50 and two RBS50 satellites, purchased as a bundle through Costco. I noticed that the router would intermittently just reboot, dropping all devices. I thought it may be a firmware issue so I upgraded to the latest (2.1.2.18) and it still happens almost daily. All the log says is [Initialized, firmware version: V2.1.2.18]. Is my router defective? Thanks!SolvedOrbi wifi disconnects/crashes caused by Google Home and Chromecasts OFFICIAL
Google has officially acknowledged this issue of wifi networks getting killed by way too frequent MDNS packets being sent from their devices that crash various routers. I will say that I switched to a Linksys after starting to have issues with Orbi late November, and have not had any more issues. I suppose the robustness of the router to handle such traffic comes into play. After updating Orbi RBR40 firmware to Version 2.1.1.12 after a reboot the system removes the characters “$ew0” from the wifi password. I had to fall back to RBR40 firmware version 2.0.0.26. Looking for an update to correct this defect.AC3200 rebooting issues
I am having an issue with my Router rebooting all the time. This happened since downloading and instaling the newest firmware for security reasons. I am having the same issues as this topic ( https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/R8000-rebooting/td-p/494441/page/2 ) I thought by spending $300 for a top of the line router I wouldnt have connection issues but it seems this model is super buggy since the update. I bought the unit in July and never had rebooting issues or IP changes. Now when it reboots it changes the ip's of a few connections. I have since reserved the ip's so they dont change (for remote vpn login reasons). I get regular loss of wifi signal on the 5ghz signals. I only attach 1-2 streaming media devices to those ports (amazon fire stick, apple tv ect...) and they seem to work ok for a while but drop after about 45min of use. Any ideas on this. It seems that this model has been buggy for years since it was released. I only have 2 hard line connections and around 5-8 wifi connected devices at a time. Again as I said I havent had an issue until the firmware was updated. It seems like it corrupted the router.Solved2KViews0likes3CommentsHave to Reset my CM500 when I Reboot the Computer

What I have to do is Reset the CM500 and then I can connect to the Web again. Any help would be greatly appreciated!1.7KViews0likes4CommentsRouter gets VERY slow and needs reboot
I've had this router for about 1 year. It worked well, but after about 3 weeks things would start streaming slow, movies and games. After a restart everything worked fine. A month ago I started having issues with my wife's phone, Galaxy S6. It would stay connected, but internet was so slow it was unusable. The mobile network was fine. If we connected to wifi at a store or libray it was fine. Only time we had an issue is at home. To give you an idea if we did a Speedtest it would take 1-2 minutes to "Find the Best Server". After that push "Begin Test" and the speed was about 75 Mbps. For my phone the "Find the Best Server" was 2-3 seconds. Do the same test on the mobile network and it works great. I tried moving it from 5 ghz to 2.4, changed the encryption, rebooted the phone, reset the phone, rebooted the router nothing helped the speed. Finally I tried connecting with WPS instead of using the passphrase and that worked. For a while. Every 1-2 days it gets slow again. I need to reboot the router, then it works fine again for another 1-2 days. Provider is Xfinity and I believe we have the latest firmware. Needless to say it's very frustrating to have to reboot the router every day. Today it worked only 12 hours and I had to reboot again. We have 4 computers, Chromecast, smart appliances, ipods, and none of them have a problem. Only 1 phone and then it only started a month ago. Any ideas? This is very frustrating. Thanks.Solved21KViews0likes3Comments
