30 TopicsPlease add "WiFi radio on/off" function to RS100
Good day NETGEAR team and community, I recently purchased my first Nighthawk (the RS100) specifically after recommendation for the need of the ability to fully turn off the WiFi radio. After digging through the user manual, I found that the RS100 has no physical WiFi on/off button and no "Enable Wireless Radio" option in the web interface, only SSID hide/broadcast and access control, neither of which actually stops the radio from transmitting. I noticed that RS700S firmware 1.0.9.6 (released July 2025) added a "WiFi radio on/off function." Since the RS100 shares a similar platform, is there any plan to bring this same feature to the RS100 as well? For reference, here's the RS700 thread where staff confirmed the feature was removed and that they were working on restoring it: https://community.netgear.com/discussions/nighthawk-wifi-7-be/rs700-turning-off-wifi--firmware-version-v1-0-7-96-2-0-96/2430134 I'm currently on the latest RS100 firmware (1.2.7.4) and don't see the option anywhere. Would really appreciate an update on whether/when this is coming to the RS100 or if I must switch platform. Thanks in advance! Warm regards/ Heimr60Views0likes1CommentFun with lights.
So, except for my printer (white HP) my desktop theme (I have 2 Dells, 9020 and a 790 - Hey, if it's not broke, don't fix it. They work awesome) Anyways, my theme is Black with Blue lights....except for this new RS100. Well, I have fix this. You need 3 things. Some velcro, a DR. Teals bath soap (I've attached a picture) and a SHARP knife. I'm sure the picture does this justice BUT if not, I trimmed down one side of the bottle, put velcro on the top and bottom and new, well, my lights on the RS100 are blue!! I know, stupid BUT I like it.51Views0likes5CommentsNo VPN?
Router is a new RS100. I've been all over the Advanced set up page and cannot find where to set up a VPN. I'm just starting to dabble into this and would like the router for my VPN, for now. Any ideas where it's hidden? I already have a NoIP account ready to go/entered into the router. Thanks for any input.115Views0likes11CommentsRS100 Email Logs
I've been practically all over the Advanced Tab and subsections and cannot find where to set this up. The Help section in the Logs subsection does state "Click Send Log to send the log file to your e-mail account" BUT, there is no Send Log button anywhere. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank You.Solved154Views0likes13CommentsHave you seen this about Netgear RS Routers? Pretty interesting and maybe scary or even dangerous!
Supposedly there is a Backdoor to our Rs Series routers by sending magic packets? This makes me nervous as I work and live behind a RS700 in my house. It sounds pretty serious? just got a new RS100 and none of the clients on my network (wired or wireless) will get the DNS IP that i put in. i have tried a number of different ones (my Pi-Hole server, google, Quad9), all clients get the IP of the router itself. i'm only using IPv4, have shut down clients and restarted the router, etc. nothing seems to work. am i missing something? i am using the router as a dhcp server. my older router has no issuesSolved305Views0likes6CommentsI'm getting ready to pull the trigger on an RS100
Sorry, i know this is a few months old, but i am curious about your comment as to why the RS200 would be better for this use case. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on an RS100, but would like to separate my IoT devices, but still manage them with apps on my phone on my regular wifi setup134Views0likes3CommentsRS140 Previously configured device does not connect to the Wi-Fi network.
Hi, I have my company laptop and it ran out of battery while connected to my company's VPN. It also uses Cisco Anny Connect. After recharging, it won't connect to the Wi-Fi network with my RS140 router. I've already restarted the modem and router, and removed the network from the laptop. The other devices are still working fine.166Views0likes11Comments
