316 TopicsConfusing typos in HTTPS certificate upload page
The MS510TXUP Smart Switch has some confusing typos on the page used to upload HTTPS certificates whilst on the latest firmware version 1.1.0.9 (and all versions before it). The user is presented with the following options: "SSL Trusted Root Certificate PEM File" should be used for the X.509 Public Certificate PEM File, and "SSL Server Certificate PEM File" should be used for the X.509 Certificate Private Key PEM File. As my device is out of warranty, I could not find any way to make Netgear aware of this issue. If anyone from Netgear sees this, please the typo be resolved? Also, TFTP is insecure and should not be used to transfer private key files. Please could a secure alternative be implemented?249Views0likes2CommentsM4300-96X REST API - Issue Querying Ports 65-96
Since I still have not received a response to the support email I sent over a week ago, I figure I will ask the same questions here in hopes of getting some answers. I have been working on a script for Q-Sys to interface with the REST API on an M4300-96X switch. My script is able to connect and query port information for the first 64 ports on the switch but attempting to query information for ports 65-96 results in an “Invalid portid” error. Why does the API appear to ignore the ports in modules 9-12? Also, the “sw_portstats” and “swcfg_poe” commands do not appear to accept “ALL” as a portid value even though the REST API reference manual claims it should work. Is there a newer version of the manual with a more accurate command list? I am using the December 2020 version of the document #207-10252-01 which lists API version 2.0.0.59. The switch is running firmware version 12.0.19.4 I have no modules installed in the first four slots, an APM408C module in slot 5, an APM408F module in slot 6, and APM402XL modules in slots 7-12 running in 4x10Gig expanded port mode.189Views0likes0CommentsConfigure SSL/HTTPS for GS724TPV2 and GS752TPv3
Hi All, I am looking to enable HTTPS for all my Netgear Switches (GS724TPV2 and GS752TPV3). But I cannot import the self-signed certificate that I have already got available. I feel like I'm missing a vital step, and was wondering if someone is able to help me on this? Looking forward to hearing some advice. Cheers!1KViews0likes5CommentsPerformance Degradation:
We are experiencing significant performance degradation with our Netgear wireless network. The speed tests are consistently lower than expected, and large file transfers are painfully slow. Are there any recommended configurations or firmware updates to improve performance?"698Views0likes1CommentM4250 - Black Magic
Hey All, First time posting here. Here is my situation that I could use some help with. I purchased and installed some Netgear M4250 switches throughout my venue. Using the Engage software, I've setup a few VLAN's with them, Lighting, Audio, Video, etc. Each of these VLAN's have a DHCP server from one switch. The system I setup is isolated from the internet on purpose as I want to maintain minimal network traffic over the system. I'm looking now to get a Black Magic Web Presenter into the video network. This device has one network port that is designed to both handle the setup/control of it and additionally, push video to the internet. Putting this device on the network I setup however doesn't work because I don't have internet on the network. On my video switch I want to be able to have the following 3 ports. Port 1) connects to the rest of my network with an AutoTrunk while utilizing the Video VLAN with it' own DHCP Server. Port 2) connect to another network I have in my building that provides internet. This network has its own DHCP Server. Port 3) my Web Presenter that takes traffic from both Port 1 and Port 2. IP Address of the device would live in the range that comes from Port 1. How would I configure this in the M4250.2.1KViews0likes5CommentsHow to find serial number via SNMP for FS726TP
Hi, How to find serial number via SNMP for Netgear switch (model: FS726TP) ? What MIB OID to read ? Hi everybody, we are using the scheduled backup feature of NMS300 to automatically backup the config of our switches to avoid a manual backup of the config after every configuration change, but this seems to work only via telnet. I've created ssh- and https-credentials, which definitely work when used to connect to the switches manually, but when associated to a test switch, the NMS300-backup doesn't work for this switch. The error message is "No valid telnet credentials". When valid telnet credentials are associated to the switch, the backup works. I have reported the same problem back in 2016 for our M4100 switches, and the answer was that this behavior was by design: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Managed-Switches/NMS300-config-backup-with-telnet-disabled/td-p/1161992 Meanwhile we have replaced several of our M4100 switches with M4300 series, but the problem remains the same. We are using NMS300, version 1.7.0.22 Is this some kind of configuration error or is the backup feature still limited to telnet? If so, are there plans to change this? Thank you! Dear experts, I would like to connect our NMS300 installation to our Netgear account to have an insight with NMS300 to which switches are registered and which aren't. In the "admin" area there's a function called "my.NETGEAR.com Account Profile", which should provide this, but it rejects our credentials, which work without any problems for a manual login on the Netgear website. It doesn't seem to be caused by our firewall. Our NMS300 version is 1.7.0.22. The same problem had been reported years ago in this forum and it seems that it was solved with an NMS300 update, but perhaps there's a more simple solution now: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Managed-Switches/NMS300-my-netgear-com-account-profile-error/m-p/1252091#M3575 Thanks for your support! Hello all, I work for a company that has a server, switches, hardware firewall, and access ports scattered throughout the building, our wired internet is working fine, however recently our Wi-Fi went out, and although trying every fix under the sun, the Wi-Fi is still out. We then proceeded to buy a new Router, the Nighthawk AX2400 (Rax30). However, upon attempting the setup via the app, or via our IP Router Config, no setups seem to be working. I've contacted support about this issue to no avail, nothing was solved, and I wanted to know if anyone else had experienced an similar issue. The setup steps start by asking you to unplug your modem and power supply. However because we are in a busy office, to do that would be detrimental to peoples work. Are there any ways around having to unplug or disconnect things to get the setup working? Any information would be greatly appreciated and helpful. Thank you.1.8KViews0likes4Comments
