I was only able to get my SXR30 to sync for the first few weeks after purchase (more than a year ago). By now, at the very least, the firmware is not the same as the router. Anyways, I decided to give it another go, and figured the best place to start was updating the satellite firmware. I connected the satellite to the router via wired backhaul, then connected my macbook to the satellite via wire, and got web access, so it was at least acting as a switch. As a lark, I tired pressing the sync buttons to see if it would work... no dice, magenta light on the satellite. Insight page doesn't pop up the satellite as a device. Here's the weird part: if I disconnect the wired backhaul, the macbook (wired to satellite) still gets internet --- I'm using it to write this message right now. Wifi and all other network interfaces disabled. And if I go to "Devices" in the insight app, and subset by "Wired" connections, the port by which my macbook is connected shows as "N/A". Any explanation? (Or tips on how to get the satellite to sync?)OneDrive sync support (beta)
I'm exploring the beta support for OneDrive sync, and found several shortcomings that I'd like to see addressed in updates to the 6.9.0 firmware: 1. Shared folders that are added to my OneDrive aren't sync, while on Windows and Mac clients they are sync'd. The NAS should sync them as well. This has been committed as a 6.9.1 feature, which is great. 2. There is no multi-user support, though it really needs to be added. User A should be able to sync their OneDrive to their own share, while user B should be able to log in and establish a separate OneDrive authentication and sync relationship in their own share. 3. There is no way to ascertain sync state / progress. Somewhere there needs to be a progress indicator or "files remaining to be sync'd." Otherwise, users have no idea whether their ReadyNAS is in a clean or dirty sync state, thus no confidence of a full copy of their data. 4. You should document that a 0 means "no bandwidth restriction" rather than "0 KBps allowed". Thanks, Jeff2.5KViews0likes8CommentsDropbox Sync Won't Update
I recently upgraded my ReadyNAS to OS 6.8.0 and use a Mac to connect to the ReadyNAS. I have set up the Dropbox Sync on my ReadyNAS 526X. I have a single folder on Dropbox syncing to the corresponding folder on the ReadyNAS. I have it set up to only download cloud changes to the ReadyNAS. It works fine for the initial sync and everything in my selected Dropbox folder appears in the corresponding filder on my ReadyNAS. However, after the first sync, no further updates to sync down to the ReadyNAS. I have added new documents to the Dropbox folder and reorganized some files into new folders and none of those changes appear on the ReadyNAS. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there something I have done wrong in the setup process? Any assistance would be appreciated. Regards, David5.5KViews0likes8CommentsCan ReadyNAS NV+ Sync with Amazon Cloud Drive?
I have a tried and true ReadyNAS NV+ with latest firmware (4.1.15). Any way I can sync shares with my Amazon Drive with this unit? Model: ReadyNAS NV+ [X-RAID] Serial: 23J30375002A4 Firmware: RAIDiator 4.1.15 [1.00a043] Memory: 256 MB [2.5-3-3-7]Solved4.4KViews0likes2CommentsNumber of files uploaded to Amazon does NOT match number on NAS share
I just "completed" a 5 day upload(sync) with Amazon. I sync'd two shares on NAS of the following sizes: 674GB ad 26GB. upon "completion" Amazon is showing the total size of my Amazon Cloud drive to be 669.7 GB, which is less than the expected 700GB (674+26=700). I have confirmed that the sync is NOT "stalled", by adding a new file to the ReadNAS, which was subsequently auto-uploaded to amazon within a few minutes. So... According to the raw numbers I am missing 30GB, which is NOT insignificant. According to AMazon, they do not compress the files, so the data in their cloud SHOULD equal the size of the source data on my NAS How do I figure out whats missing? Any suggestions?2.6KViews0likes2CommentsAmazon - Snapshots or full data?
Hi All, I recently turned on Amazon Cloud on my RN104 running 6.6.1. So far everything seems to be working corrently, though I aside from a cursory glance at the folder structure on Amazon I have no idea how much data has moved. I expect the total for the selected shares to be over 700GB, but amazon is not showing any size yet. Maybe once the transfer is done it will show? Anyway, I'm now concerned about Amazon being a two-way sync. Not so much that I would delete something on Amazon, but what if something breaks at amaazon and my files get deleted? or if amazon is hacked and my files get deleted? My understanding that in this siutation the sync would cause my local files on NAS to also get deleted. (please correct me if I'm wrong) Which brings to my real question. I admittedly do not fully understand snapshots. But am now wondering if instead of replicating the actual data to amazon, should I just be replicating the snapshots instead? Or both? I would sleep easier if netgear just made an option to set the amazon sync as one-way or two-way my choice.3.6KViews0likes6CommentsReadyNas 6.6.0 - Amazon Cloud Drive first sync launch
Hi, I've been using Amazon Cloud Drive sync on my ReadyNas 6.6.0 for a couple of weeks, and it worked like a charm. 4 days ago, I've unfortunately switched off the service (under Cloud tab), and immediatly switched it on. Thus, the amazon sync service has stopped and restarted. Since then, it says he's looking for changes... I have about 4 TB of data (~5000 files), and my internet connexion is 1GB (fiber). How long it's supposed to take (it's running for +4 days) ? Is there a way to have more details on the ongoing sync process in order to know if it's working or not ? The log file is wery minimalistic (1 line saying he's looking for changes)... Initially it took 2-3 days to copy all the data to Amazon cloud... Many thanks in advance. CarlosSolvedSync Home Folder in ReadyCloud Desktop App
I have a ReadyNAS 202 running OS 6.5.1 and am using the ReadyCloud Desktop Client version 1.3 for OS X (Mac). I have created a folder in my private Home Directory that I would like to sync to my Mac but when I look at the Desktop Client, I do not see the Home folder and obvisously, not the subfolders in the Home folder. If I log in to ReadyCloud via the Web I see the Home folder and the subfolders in it. The ID I am using is the Administrator ID I created when I set up the ReadyNAS. I'm thinking there has to be a way to see the Home Folder in the ReadyNAS Client. Am I missing something? Thanks, David5.1KViews0likes13CommentsRN10222D Vertical Expansion - First Time
I'm expanding from 2TB to 4TB on my RN102. I purchased compatible drives (Hitachi Deskstar NAS HDN724040ALE640). The system is running X-Raid Raid 1. I am not clear on how to know if the system is syncing - other than looking at the logs. When I do look at the logs, there are only two entries related to this event - - Volume data health changed from Redundant to Degraded. - Disk Model:TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 Serial:64UTP72GS was removed from Channel 1 of the head unit The volumes settings shows only one drive present (the one I did not remove). The new disk seems to be spinning based on the sound it's making (long buzz, click, short buzz). The power light is blinking in two-blink intervals and the led for the drive I replaced is blinking. Can someone tell me if I'm doing something incorrect or if there's another way, other than the software, to determine if the drives are syncing?Solved
