Hi I've been trying to install the range extender without much success. the genie didn't start up, so connected directly and went in through 192.168.1.1. Had trouble with passwords, but thought I worked it out, There was no check box allowing me to use the same security settings. Can I have a different password on the extender from the router? Still couldn't access any wireless devices properly. had all green lights, but no internet and each item required a login and password - would it be admin/password? What happens if I don't connect them all before clicking continue (page 11 of set up guide) Can they be connected later? This morning tried again, still no internet access, and couldn't get an windows device to connect to the network at all through the extender. Went through the factory reset then updated firmware bypassing genie. Now it wants me to sign in but won't accept admin/password. What do I do now? (I'm tempted to throw it away, but a waste of money). All I wanted was something to plug in which would make the existing wireless network stronger at the other end of the house.3.7KViews0likes1CommentR6300v2 Router not connecting to modem.
Recieved the R6300v2 Router 8/2015 and has worked fine. For some reason came home to the router on but all functions were off, no lights, nothing. Got it back on and it will not connect to the modem. The Ethernet cable is connected to both. Turned it off and on, unplugged everything and rebooted the router. Still not connected. Should I do a factory reset? Call my internet provider? Why is it suddenly not reading the Ethernet cable?SolvedFolders / files disappearing, unable to see on another Mac RN31400 – ReadyNAS 300 Series 4- Bay
I've been using my ReadyNas for over two years now with no issues, within the last 6 months it has begun to make files "disappear" until the entire drive is rebooted (this involves saving and closing all documents that are connected to the drive, quitting all programmes, relaunching the finder window, ejecting the drive itself, disconnecting myself then re-entering my log-in details. Pretty tedious when you have to do this three times a day) We have 5 people working off the ReadyNas, if someone creates a folder on their computer and asks me to access a file within that folder I follow the chain of folders to its location and can see the folder. Once I click on the folder is automatically disappears. This folder can be seen on others computers but not mine until the drive is ejected and rebooted. This happens to all five of us when someone creates a new folder / saves down a new file. Any suggestions, tips or thoughts would be hugely appreciated. I have an new C3000 100NAS Firmware 1.01.11. This replaced an identical router that had burnt out. None of my iPads or iPhones will connect consistently to it. They work every once in a while. I have a vizo TV hooked up to the router via the wire, and it works fine. I have another TV hooked up via the wifi and it works fine. My windows computers work fine. My xBox one does not work. I can't hook it up via the wifi or the via a wired connection. It gives an error message about DNS. Everything looks like it should work on my iOS devices. I have a signal. I can connect (it seems) and when I look on my setings, I the IP address, Subnet mask, router and DNS all have values displayed. My speed is sometimes OK (upload speeds ranging from 5 to 35 MBS) and sometimes non existent (0.01 MBS) My ping is almost always very good, 8 or 10 ms, even when the speed is near zero. I have called my ISP provided once, and they reset my modem from their end. It worked fine for a few hours after they did this. I have tried powering off all devices and restarting everything on my network That made no difference. The inconsistent performance across different types of devices is what has me confused. The old router did not display these symptoms. It would quit working completely and needed to be powered on and off several times per day. When it quit working, only the devices connected via a wire worked. All wireless devices did not, so I am sure the new router has a different issue.2.1KViews0likes1Comment
