Update/Refresh Netgear Genie Program
PLEASE update the Genie program. It is so slow, clunky, outdated, and ugly. It's really pathetic, especially in the vain of more expensive hardware. The user experience does not match the price. It's like buying a Mercedes but the seats are made of cheap cloth. If I spend hundreds of dollars on a top of the line product, I expect the software to be excellent. Other companies have much better software. Catch up."Router Update" option missing along with most of the GUI
I just set up my R7000 Netgear router today. It seems to be working great as far as our internet speed and nework signal range go, but when I log in to access the router's GUI, almost all of it is missing! Naturally, Netgear won't help me, since this router is past its warranty (it was originally registered in 2015, and I am not the original owner.) What in the world is going on here? What can I do to fix this? My current firmware version is 1.01.09. My ISP is Comcast, but I bought this router myself. Everything else seems to be fine - I'm even using this router to post this discussion. Also, every feature in the Netgear Genie app seems to be working, even those features that are missing from the router's GUI. I even set up a guest network to confirm this. (So I can set up a guest network through the Genie, but not through my browser.) I am using Google Chrome, but the same thing happens in Firefox. I've attached pictures of the Basic and Advanced screens in my GUI. Why can't I access any of the other features, or upgrade my firmware?Feature request (force a device to a specific Orbi)
I have one problem device that, for some reason, always chooses the Satellite Orbi instead of the Router Orbi, which is always the furtherest away from the device. The Router Orbi is by far the closer one to the device. I can reboot the network and the device will connect to the Router, but will eventually creep back to the Satellite for whatever reason. It's a stationary device (TV) and never moves. I'd like to request to have a feature implemented that will allow us to "force" or designate a specific device to a specific Orbi. I know they plan on releasing a firmware that will allow us to customize how the lights on top act (always on, etc), which I hope gets released soon! Also, a Guest Network feature would rock!
