13 TopicsGS308Ev4, GS305E - Help with uplinks/downlinks
Could I please have some help or confirmation that I have these setup correctly? I'm weary that they are because I sometimes have trouble connecting to the admin interfaces on these switches. I've already locked myself out of about 5 of these (they become unreachable) and had to do factory resets and start over. Other times, I login and the admin pages don't fully load. Or sometimes they load with weird names and labels. Sometimes I logout and chrome says "no data from site". I'm concerned I'm losing some packets somewhere. But generally speaking, everything is working and the untagged (U) vlan access ports are divvying out the correct ip addresses and devices are communicating within themselves ok. I don't think I'm understanding how the uplinks/downlinks need to be tagged, or untagged. Here's the big picture. Looking at it on paper makes me feel like I'm way out of league. There's a lot of empty ports, I'm just starting. Here's the 4 port setup on the router Let me just start down the port 1 trunk (stuff on left of picture). Here's the setup of GS308Ev4-1 for VLAN1 Same router VLAN31 Same router pvid And then both GS305E-1 and -2 are setup the same which is: How am I doing?VLAN

Hi Everyone, I have a Prosafe XS716T here where I need to change management VLAN to 12 instead of 1. I've read that changing is possible and has solved some cases of networking but I haven't really found the option in my web interface. Maybe you can point in the right direction for that? Thanks a lot, I appreciate all the help I can get.SolvedHow to display VLAN settings using. Web Management
How can we display the VLAN settings using the Web Management ? Going I the VLAN setting tab and enabling will destroy the current settings,, as stated in the user guide : […], select the Enable radio button and continue with Step 8. Otherwise, see Step 9. A pop-up window opens, informing you that the current VLAN settings will be lost.SolvedModel nunmber= GS748TPS and Serial Number = 23R725xxxxxxx
I have an issue to make a trunk with this model of switch since there is no VLAN port membership in the GUI interface available to make trunk ports or even assign tagged ports. Tought it was a problem in the firmware but the firmware is updated to the latest version, the other version of GS752TPS doesn't have this issue and work well. Hardware version = 01.00.00 firmare version =5.2.0.11 I need to find a solution to this problem. Thank you in advance.SolvedS3300 inter-VLAN Routing Issue
I have just purchase an S3300-28X and S3300-52X and am getting to grips with all the features. Most features seem pretty straight forward so far, but I'm having real issues setting up inter-VLAN routing. I've been unsuccessfully banging my head against the wall for a few days now, so hopefully someone here will be able to shine some light on where I'm going wrong. I've factory-reset the S3300-28X and setup a simple configuration for testing: VLAN10 Interface IP: 10.0.10.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 VLAN20 Interface IP: 10.0.20.1 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Port 1/g14 PVID: 10 VLAN Member: 10 VLAN Tag: None Port 1/g16 PVID: 20 VLAN Member: 20 VLAN Tag: None I initially setup the VLANs with the routing wizard, selecting the appropriate tags as untagged. After checking the PVID configuration I connected a workstation to each port with the following manual IP settings: Workstation (1/g14) IP Address: 10.0.10.123 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 10.0.10.1 Workstation (1/g16) IP Address: 10.0.20.123 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 10.0.20.1 Each workstation can ping default gateways on either VLAN, but the workstations cannot ping one-another. I feel like I've tried every possible setting in the PVID Configuration sections but nothing seems to work. So, could someone please suggest where I've gone wrong or what I should try next? Hi, probably its just a stupidity issue on my side but I can't get this to work. I am trying to get two boxes to communicate over two switches using a particular vlan. This is actually the simplified solution attempt for a more complex issue but can't even get this to work:( I've been following https://kb.netgear.com/11673/How-do-I-setup-a-VLAN-trunk-link-between-two-NETGEAR-switches this guide. Test Setup : 2x S3300 (one on 6.6.14, one one .17) connected via Trunk 1x ESX box with a vSwitch with multiple vmknics, one of these on the relvant vlan (6) 1x Windows Box (no VLAN setup on nic) Switch A (stacked with another S3300) Interface PVID VLAN Member VLAN Tag Acceptable Frame Untagged VLANs Tagged VLANs Comment 2/g14 6 6 None Admit All 6 None TestPort Local Switch 2/xg25 1 1,6 6 Admit All 1 6 Trunk Link 2/xg28 1 1,5-9,18,19 5-9,18,19 Admit All 1 5-9,18,19 ESX Box ESX box with a vmknic on VLAN 6 on Switch A, Trunk configured on 25 according to KB. 14 is a testport - if I connect the Windows box to this port the connection works (- - > Intra Switch VLAN is fine) Switch B Interface PVID VLAN Member VLAN Tag Acceptable Frame Untagged VLANs Tagged VLANs Comment 1/g22 6 6 None Admit All 6 None Windows Box 1/g23 1 1,6 6 Admit All 1 6 Trunk Link If the Windows Box is connected to B/22 I can't communicate with it and I can't see why not I have tried a lot of things already, setting up VLAN IPs for example on both switches to check whether its a port issue or not. But its always the same pattern - everything local is working fine but as soon as the traffic has to flow to the other switch its not. Everything on VLAN 1 is working fine o/c, just not on another VLAN. Looking for any kind of clue, totally lost :( Thanks for reading.SolvedCan't change untagged VLAN on GS752TP with 6.0.1.18 Firmware
I have 2 GS752TP Switches in the office, switch #1 is running 6.0.1.18 switch #2 is running 6.0.1.16. I have the 3 default VLANs on each switch, and then 8 additional VLANs that I'd added. With the exception of the VLANs, the password, and setting up Network time, these switches are basically at factory default. After adding the new VLANs I go into Switching->VLAN->Advanced->VLAN Membership On Switch #1: For my setup I need to set several of the ports to Untagged for VLANs other than VLAN 1. To start I'll go to say Port 1, and change it from U -> T. When I attempt to apply this change I get an error that "VLAN 1: VLAN was not created by the user". I get this same error when I try to make any change to VLAN 1, which means that I can set any VLAN other than VLAN 1 as the Untagged VLAN for the port. On Switch #2: I follow the same steps as above, and I'm allowed to save the changes for Port 1 VLAN 1. I can then go to VLAN 10 (one of the new ones I've created) and change Port 1 from ' ' -> U and then apply that change. Setting changes between Switch #1 and #2 are the same as near as I can tell (both switches have been factory reset, then stepped through the configuration changes on each one, the only difference would be any difference between factor defaults on 6.0.1.18 and 6.0.1.16, I haven't seen any as I've gone through and looked). I did read something that made me think I might need to disable Routing Mode with the latest firmware to make the changes to the VLAN I'm trying, so I tried that but still get the same error. It doesn't appear that the switch can be downgraded to 6.0.1.16 because of the firmware updates for POE that came along with 6.0.1.18. Any ideas why I can't change the Untagged VLAN for a port? Thanks.SolvedSimple VLAN without VLAN-aware router and DHCP aka Port-based VLAN
I did manage to get the tagged VLANs (802.1Q) working with DHCP, mutiple switches AND VLAN-aware router - the whole shebang. However, I tried to poke around with the simple setup with not vlan-aware router and no tagging and....it just didn't work :O My setup is following: router<--port1-->switch<---port4-->PC vlan1 contains all 8 ports untagged vlan 10 contains port 1+4 untagged port 4 PVID = vlan10 All the devices are on the same subnet. Switch is a Netgear108Tv2 with the latest firmware (5.4.2.27) 1. DHCP isn't leasing me any IPs - I get APIPA 2. Even with static IP (incl. router as gateway), I cannot ping either the router itself or anything else.... What am I doing wrong here ? I've read on various forums, that GS108Tv1 had port-based VLAN option which easily managed a setup like this, V2 is apparently only supporting 802.1Q-VLAN, which still should support untagged VLANs and a vlan-not-aware router, isn't it ? I also found this post, where one of the users "somehow" as he puts it, managed to make it work: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Wired-Network-Adapters/Is-port-based-VLANs-using-GS108Tv2-still-possible/td-p/473280Solved
