4 TopicsX10 R9000 wired network running at 100Mbps
I recently bought a X10 R9000 router to replace my old WNDR4500 N900 router, also from Netgear. I have Cat 6 or better ethernet cable running from the cable modem to the router and from the router to two computers. - When the WNDR4500 was installed, I could achieve ~80 - 100 megabytes per second transfer rates between my two wired computers (~gigabit speeds) - The leds on the old router indicated gigabit ethernet connections - I installed the R9000 in the same location and did not change any of the ethernet wiring or the gigabit switches I have in place - The R9000 shows white flashing leds for the two computers, indicating gigabit ethernet connections - When I transfer a large file, the speed clearly tops out at ~10-11 megabytes per second, like it's hitting a hard limit (looks like ~100Mbps ethernet) - I disconnected everything and connected both computers directly to the router using Cat6 cables and I still see the same transfer rate limit - I turned off any QOS settings I could find, but no change I have already checked for new firmware (none available yet). Do I have a defective R9000? I'm really considering returning this and waiting for a less buggy AC7200 router to come out. At this point, my expensive router looks like a downgrade.Solved3.2KViews0likes5CommentsR7000 connectivity with HP wired laser jet
I've been using a HP Laserjet M553 for a few months connected via lan cable to the R7000 and it's been fine. But recently (last few weeks or so) it's lost connectivity. First time I was able to get it to come back by powercycling the HP and assumed it was that but now it wont connect at all and I've power cycled both the printer and the router. If I connect the printer to the router on the ADSL it connects and gets an IP instantly, so it doesn't seem like it's the cable or the printer (although I will try a new cable to be sure). I have tried it in different ports on the R7000 but it doesnt seem to be any different. Any suggestions?Solved4.4KViews0likes7CommentsR7000 problems since latest firmware update - which firmware is stable/should I revert to?
I need to perform a firmware upgrade on one of my r7000 routers that is notably behind in this respect. The one that has been upgraded to the latest firmware has had more network drops and performance issues since I did this. After reviewing other Netgear Community discussions, it looks like the issues I'm having since the latest firmware update are global. So, in lieu of a fixed Netgear r7000 firmware update, what is the best/least buggy firmware version for me to use to update my other R7000 so that I don't run into the issues associated with the most recent firmware version?Solved9.3KViews0likes11CommentsSlow download speeds Xbox one (WIRED)
Hi All, Since I got the Netgear R7000 Nighthawk my Xbox one has got terrible wired download speeds Most of the time it's between 6-10 mbit. When I check my connection (works just like speedtest.net) I get almost 100% of my ISP speed but when I go to download a game and check the speed, it gets nearly to 10 mbit. Occasionally when I restart the Xbox One or router the speed ups between 90-120 mbit but when I restart the Xbox One again it goes back to the very slow speeds. Port forwarding and IP reservation for Xbox one also didn't help. Nat type is open. I seriously don't know what to do. Please help. Thanks in advance.Solved58KViews0likes5Comments
