Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released

Looks like DD-WRT doesn't support it and OpenWRT only supports the R7900, not my R7900P which another user said cannot be interchanged.

How is the R7900 not EoL if R7900P is? Does that mean there will be no more firmware updates for me at all?

The BETA seems to have a bug. Dynamic QOS is not working. All device always gets low priority by default and Internet download and upload speed device wise is always 0 even if it is consuming data consistantly.

I have the R7960P.  I just ran into the DHCP Reservation / MAC address bug.  Is there a beta firmware for my router?
@FURRYe38  could you be so kind as to PM me a link, if available.

Thank you.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released

Hello @FURRYe38 ,

I have a Nighthawk R8000P and would be interested in the beta release as well. I am not having any luck reserving an IP address with my current version of  V1.4.4.94_1.3.56.

Thank you,

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released

You know, this "roll back to something that works" answer is wearing pretty thin. I've been in software development for almost 40 years. I've worked on everything from real computers, to desktops, to embedded systems for medical devices. Version 1.4.4.94 is a shining example of why no software professional will ever touch Agile.

The message I'm replying to is from 2022. Today is June 2, 2024.

Even when you select a currently assigned entry this fails. It appears to be a bush league error. Some fool in the UI code is stripping the colons out but the value string is being compared to a valid MAC address that has colons.

Did you use off-shore labor for this? Sure looks like it!

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released

I got the beta firmware but was told I would have to wipe the router to install the firmware so I decided not to bother since I had set everything else up besides the mac reservation, still wild there's no public fix

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released

@Jewrye not wild, inexcusable. Especially since this appears to be an incredibly sloppy job in the UI code. One that was never tested. I will wager an entire case of diet Mt. Dew that they are comparing 02:0F:B5:6E:E1:B1 to the stripped

020FB56EE1B1

string.

Since the UI is stripping the colons this never did work and was never tested.

TDD is __not__ Software Engineering.

The most expensive thing you can have is cheap labor.
